"Also appearing will be House Minority Whip Steve Scalise who was recently wounded in a mass shooting in DC. Scalise’s life was saved by a lesbian police officer who shot and killed the attacker. Scalise has said the incident did not change his mind about gun control or LGBT rights."  -lgbtqnation.com

  2. I still cannot, for the life of me, figure out why the murders of transgender poeple are NEVER immediately thought to be, believed to be, speculated that or suspected of being, a hate crime - only statements are made like (paraphrasing), "officials have not commented on whether the murder will be investigated as a hate crime," or "it's unknown if this will be concidered a hate crime," or "the murder is not being investigated as a hate crime at this time," etc., etc., etc..  Even in murders where their is unmistakable, viciously brutal over-kill, no one will even say, "this looks like a hate crime."   It's like they go total stupid about it.
    I don't get it.

"A Georgia college's controversial "personal lifestyle statement" which includes rejecting homosexuality has led to an exodus of faculty members." -huffingtonpost.com

Shorter University's 'Personal Lifestyle Statement' Which Bans Gay Employees Leads To Faculty Exodus

    _____________________________

I debated on whether or not to even post this news story after discovering that "rejecting homosexuality" was not the main, or only, requirement in the school's "personal lifestyle statement" as the headline seemed to imply. Considering an anonymous survey indicated that only 12% of the faculty planned to stay with the school, I can't help but believe that there were other "lifestyle" issues that have allegedly caused 88% to walk. It would be more interesting (in my opinion) to know how many of the faculty are leaving for the sole reason that the school rejects homosexuality, because while it seems that some do not condone it, some are leaving because the school has placed itself in a position of judging others, and which sins with which to judge.

I wonder where they stand on transsexuality....

"The dining room quickly devolved into a threatening scene when patrons began terrorizing Friedlander, screaming at her, and spewing homophobic and hate-filled epithets. A male diner yelled at her, called her a "he-she freak" and demanded that she leave the restaurant. Another man threw objects at Friedlander." -lambdalegal.org

  5. Everyone, and I mean everyone, no one is immune, experiences open (obvious) and closed (not so obvious) rejection in their lives, through all stages of their life, starting in the very earliest years.

The reality is that not everybody likes or loves you, but there will be some who do. The secret is to focus on those who do, and innoculate yourself from those who don't, thus removing their power to hurt you.
