Hi Racheal,
We do not have a support section for Significant Others (SO)and it would be a good idea to have one here if there were even a few SOs interested. I do know of a site where there are many SOs and it is a closed section for SOs only. This way they are free to talk about anything they want without fear of their own SO reading their concerns. The site is for crossdressers and so the issues may not be exactly what she needs. There is also a rule about making a few posts before being allowed to request access to the SO only section. www.crossdressers.com
I am sure she could benefit from posting her concerns and questions here. Another SO may see her posts and put in his/her own reply. It could be the start of a new SO support section.

racheal -
i think bonnie's idea is a great one - your SO could come to TGG, register, and participate in the forums here. while we don't have a forum specifically for SOs...we have had members who were.
personally...i believe there are SO's who are here - they just don't participate in the discussions. but even without (or until it's decided to add another area to the forums) a visible SO presence, i'm sure there are members here who could share some of their experiences and issues.
you could also "google" SO support in australia to see if anything comes up.
just something to consider....

I may well have responded to every SO and parent who has posted. Usually, they're looking for answers to some very difficult questions and concerns. I try very hard to be considerate and really think things through before I post a response. Our most recent person in need was the mother of an 11-year old who had said he wanted to be a girl; she was in a panic but we behaved well, shared our own childhoods and helped her see transsexuality as what it is. She has since posted that her child is under care and will continue treatment; as I recall, she also mentioned a change of schools to give her daughter a better chance.
So you see, we have supported others who are significant in our lives but not formally. Occasionally my wife looks over my shoulder as I compose my post. She has no intention of separating though she wishes lovemaking would return to what it was in our younger days. We share the ups and downs our SOs and we all have sometimes. We want to help SOs and so our friends; we most want the love in our hearts to be the deciding factor.

Hello, Diamond, welcome to TGG...and thank you for offering your support to other SOs.
This part of our board is fairly new, but hopefully, it will become a busy area.

Hi Diamond! Welcome to TG Guide and thank you very much for offering your assistance. Once we get this section going we will need to close it from all others except Significant Others (SOs) and the monitors. SOs will then need to request authorization to the section and then they can open up with their questions and concerns without their own SO being able to read it. This way they won't have to hold back their thoughts.

Well , Now that I am a part of this section of TGGuide , I would and should have a while back ago said Hello , and Thank You so very much Diamond .
There are a great many SO's I am sure that simply need to be introduced so I Think I will Add a section Just for this I think it will be best if the SO's had A simple line by line , Hello I am .... and can see that there are others Here that share the connection , I know this is going to be some what of a open line to see who is a SO but I really dont want a direct discussion on that Intro section , I think if they wish to talk they could make a PM to another they found on the Intro section and connect in that way as to be some what attonomous to the wondering eyes of their SO on the thread .
I think since we really have No secure SO's section this might be the easiest , since you can add others to the conversation thread.
this way being supportive and private in the same turn .
They will know you are showing an interest in finding out the issues concerning them just By saying Hello and having a line by line list of other SO's on the Forum . This will ease their minds as to whether you truelly want to learn about the ups and downs and how you can help them and your self through these times with the advice of the other SO's you have PM'ed .
I Will also be here To answer some of the questions you may have just in case you have not found another SO that could answer your question(s) .
I hope this will help relieve some of the concerns over Privacy issues in regaurds to supportive and carring conversations between those who care so deaply for their SO .
Thank You and Please Sign into the Hello I am portion of this section of TGGuide , Your not alone I just want to help you find each other without feeling you are being monitored by your SO .
We all need To Talk to those who understand and can Help Us with concerns and Issues in regards to Gender Variance ,Transsexual , Transgender , and simply the Day to Day , Oh my I need some one to talk to's ...
Hugs
