"Due to the rash of media -covered suicides as a result of unconscionable bullying of LGBT youth, I've edited this excerpt that regards the notions of the special challenges of youth that don't "fit" the typical gender norms. What's it like for a transgender person? A good quick perspective on the profound level of gender and how it can impact one's experience - particularly youth. Also for the adults - teachers, parents, school councelors, mentors, professions of all kinds involved in the lives of our youth. We need to "support the supports" wherever and whenever possible."

I liked the card analogy. Support the Supports! Excellent advice. The changing laws are doing that finally. They are helping support those groups who help the GLBT fight for their rights and against discrimination.

Quite often, we try to get people to imagine what it would be like to wake up one morning and find themselves in the body of the opposite sex...yet in their heart and mind, they know they are not that sex/gender. And quite often...people don't get that because they just can't relate.

Sebastian used everyday things such as chefs and dancing...using examples that people can relate to in order to possibly get the cisgender to understand as much as they ever will what it's like to live with a body/mind incongruance. I actually liked those comparison better than the card analogy...thought that was good also.
