"Cisgender adults can talk until they go blue in the face about these kids, because they know that they’re grown-ups, and the kids can only contradict them up to a certain point. What a relief, transgender people who can be silenced completely!" -"It's 2012...," -Stephen Ira, lgbtqnation.com
This is nothing new. In fact, it's ages old. This is why there are so many of us older ones that held on to our "secret" for so many years. Only difference is... today, more younger kids are announcing who they are, and so perhaps are having to be "shut up." When I was little, you were pretty much "shut up" before you really got to say much. Observation taught you that there was no sense in saying anything.
Either way, now or then...it's all about adult vs child...and who has the most power.
Has anyone recognized the author of the article? Hint: He sounds much wiser in this piece than he did in his diatribe about another transman, much his senior and more well-known.
