Hi Tbirdgal - how kind of you!

A trip to US for a girlie shopping trip, what a wonderful thought!

You don't think a lady with my stature would draw a lot of unwanted attention?

On the other hand a bit of "wanted" attention would be nice!

I'll start saving now! (although we don't have shillings anymore)

Love & appreciation, Josie >'.'<

Shewear, I'm 6'3". Hell, I have gotten to the point where personaly, I really don't care anymore what the straight worl thinks or dosen't about me . I'm finially living for me . I nearly bought it last year this time with a massive Staph infection . I was told I had DAYS to live . I had been more or less Full time before . Now I'm doing everything I can to fulfill a lifelong dream .

I'm 6'4" and the same 34" in. legs, I can cinch down to a very slender size, I have very thin arms and never developed an Adams apple so I have gotten away with "passing" on occasion and even had a few hetero males make a pass at me! It's real fun responding to them in the deepest voice I can muster, "Thank you but I'm taken!"

The best advice is go out with a few friends, have a couple of drinks first to relax (if you're not the one driving)

And not give a crap about what others think of you and always I mean always have a sense of humor and grace and never be mean to anyone.

Welcome AuroraDream!

I was really talking more about, the limited clothing options for us XXXTall girls!

I like to dress very feminine, but often when I see a lovely dress, or cute pair of shoes, I find they only go up to dress size 12/shoes 8!

Obviously there's Internet shopping but then you can't try on!

I know there's more important things in life (or is there?) but it's a little sad to go into town on a sunny day, and see other girls wearing what they want!

I have had to have a few things custom made ( Special nightdress, french maid outfit), but most of the time I like to haunt Ebay and as many thrift shops as I can find in an attempt to find nice vintage full slips. I am also a women's size 12 shoe and often wear flats, but something nice with a kicky strap for a bit of flash. I'm on my feet 12+ hours a day at my current job and heels would kill me!

OMG!!!

I absolutely love http://www.stravers-shoes.com!!!!

They sell cute, everyday shoes and boots in proper sizes. I have UK 12 eu 46 feet and they have a reasonable range for me to choose from. I particularly love their ankle boots and bought a pair for 160 euros, and only 20 euro postage to the uk.OK that's not cheap, but they have a lot of discounts and the range is regularly updated. Us UK ladies are very limited with buying options for larger footwear, and I think this is probably the best seller accessible to us! I've attached a PDF of the current range - let me know what you think!Love Josie Kat >'.'<

Hiya Josie Kat. >'.'< I Love Shoes from Long Tall Sally, Chiltern Street, Marylebone Village, London. Telephone :- 0207 487 3370. www.longtallsally.com  They have shoes up to UK Men's size 13. I Am UK Size 12, ( Wide Fitting ). I wear Flat Shoes, because of Osteo-Arthritis in My Left-Hip, and in My Spine. Josie, try Phoning them to see if they have the shoes and size, in stock. The Staff there, know that I Am Transsexual, and have been so nice, and very helpful, each time that I have been there. A train ride to Marylebone, turn left out of the Station, turn right onto Baker Street, turn left, and then Chiltern Street, is a right turn. Long Tall Sally, is down on the Right-Hand-Side. I love the Daisy Ballerina Shoes, and I wear them quite a lot. I have other shoes from there as well. They also have some Lovely Clothes for the taller of Us Ladies. Josie Kat >'.'<  I hope that this might be of help Love. It would be good to speak soon. Take Care, With My Very Best Wishes, Love Stephanie. xx

Ive only ever been a window shopper (online) of LTS (and also tallgirls.co.uk) it would be fun/scary to actually visit en-femme!

we have at least 1 thing in common - our shoe size! I guess that means you are also tall? I'm 6'2" in flats and define rely would benefit from buying from specialist tall shops

We have Long Tall Sally's here in Canada.  I am a member.  I went in male to buy a pair of ankle boots I saw online and they were very helpful and polite.  The prices were great.  The manager told me they get a few other CDs there and if I wanted to return sometime to try on clothes I could set up an after-hours appointment.   I appreciated the offer but at the same time it gave me something to think about.  I can understand the offer if they think I would come to try on clothes in male mode, however, if I came in female mode why would I need an after-hours appointment even if I don't pass?  I still like what they offer.  I have been to the store here in Ottawa and also one in Toronto.  I was treated well there too and was again in male mode, except for my finger nails which were painted.  Love the prices of the "on sale" items.

WE got lucky and got some cute flats at Payless.  Nikki is already 8 inches taller than me, and heels make it really awkward to do things together (I can't wear them, way too clumsy and have my familys very weak angles, I've nearly broken my leg trying) so flats it is for the ability to be able to kill me without putting me on a ladder or throwing out his back.  LOL

Embrace your height. Tall women are striking and hard to get off a mans mind.

Even if you are not interest in male attention, it always feel good to leave a positive lasting impression.

Don't lose heart. I'm 6'1", I live full time and yes I totally understand the concern around shoes because I love shoes. Life though goes on and even though I needed to get over looking at my height as a male feature I can tell with all honesty that I did. People comment on my height from time to time but the comments are made in respect to me simply being a very tall girl.

Dear Ladies,

When I was in high school, I had a classmate who is a cisgender woman at 6'4," who, by the way, is a Straight woman.  Sometimes she had to "patch together" different sets of clothing to make a single set of clothing.  She was a lovely young woman.

The love of my life, a relationship that lasted 10 years, she was 6'2," and at the time, I was 5'10."  Now I am 5'8," as the curvature in my back has gotten worse.  She was a transwoman who identified as a mid-fem Lesbian.  Didn't care about her height, just that she was a LADY.  Never had a problem with a partner's height, as I am most interested in a woman's CHARACTER, and that she DRESSES and ACTS like a lady!

Your friend,

Monica

Dear Ladies,

When I was in high school, I had a classmate who is a cisgender woman at 6'4," who, by the way, is a Straight woman.  Sometimes she had to "patch together" different sets of clothing to make a single set of clothing.  She was a lovely young woman.

Patching together is often a necessity, or a full on way of life.  I'm only five foot four, but I have an awkward body shape that I wear completely separate sizes in tops and bottoms, which makes dresses and matchy outfits awkward.  :)  Clothing markets to a 'perfect' proportion, whether it's the industries idea of the cultural average(and we all know how well that works out!  LOL) or the high fashion industries starvation models, and they don't want to hear or thing about the fact that real women's bodies have dna that doesn't know anything about those ideals and is going to do what it's going to do.  :)  The struggle with making the clothing work just makes everyone more female.  And we can all grumble together and rage that the industry doesn't realize that if it would freakin' cater to ALL feminine body shapes, from the seriously tall to the seriously short, the slender and the round, the curvy and the athletic, that it would sell more clothes and women, all of us, would like the industry more.

And possibly less would fall prey to eating disorders, body dismorphia, depression, and other disorders rooted in living in a society that blatantly tells us we are worth nothing and we should be killing ourselves to conform.  The freedom to love who you are as you are instead of the slavery of looking like everyone else.

I recently saw a video clip on my Facebook with Tim Gunn calling to the mid-range designers of the world to open up their minds and work to all women.  He was openly disdainful of the high fashion end, stating he was well aware they don't care about these women and want them to be invisible, and that was why he was begging the midrange designers to realize that all women deserve to look fabulous and that there is a huge customer base starving to buy their clothes and wear them if they'll only design for them.  I love that man.

Hello ladies,

I discovered this forum, quite by accident, and finally decided to join this site, just so I could interact with other trans/CD women of taller stature.  I'm encouraged by what I have read here, thus far and am delighted to learn that their are others "out there" who struggle with the same issues as me.

I am 6'2" tall.  Sometimes, depending on who takes the measurement, I can reach 6'3".  As a male, I find my height to be ideal and can't imagine being of average or diminutive stature.  However, as a CD, I find my altitude to be quite problematic.

I'm only just beginning to explore my femine side, playing around with make-up and undergarments, but I have also done a lot of preliminary investigating into women's fashion, because I eventually hope to look passable "enough" to brave going out in public.  I'm quite discouraged by what I've seen so far.  I feel a daunting sense of dread that my fashion options will be limited, due to my larger height.  Sure, there are some sites out there that cater to taller women, but even they often fall short of meeting the needs of a 6'2" male frame.

Fortunately, I have a thin physique, which I am grateful for.  I run a lot and eat well, so I do not have a belly bulge and my weight is suitable to fit into many female garments.  I have not attempted to wear women's footwear yet, however, and I am simultaneously thrilled and terrified by the prospect of attempting to find fashionable footwear that looks good.  As many of you have already suggested, heels are almost entirely out of the question.  I've entertained the idea of trying out some simple 2" wedges, but can only imagine how I'll look at 6'4"...

My goal for the summer is to "put myself together" well enough to be able to go to a secluded nearby lake, in a nice one-piece bikini, with or whithout heels.  I'd also like to be able to find some nice dresses or (in my dreams) some sexy leggings or women's jeans and a nice top.  At present, I'm still just enjoying wearing lingerie and applying makeup and wigs at home, but I long to go outside and enjoy life as a woman.

Any help, thoughts, or insight you all can share is greatly appreciated.

Hi Davi!

BTW I am on FetLife too!  Ottawa (BonnieR)

3 " heels for me puts me around 6'2".  I tower over many women but not all.  I am average height when I am with transwomen.  Most if not all major cities have stores for tall women and they usually sell shoes too for large feet.  I take 13 womens if they are close toed and 12 if they are open toed.  I have one pair of flats which I haven't worn outside yet. Maybe this summer.  The only shapewear I use are breast forms.  I have tried hip and ass shapers but they just didn't look right and they were lost in a purge.  If you ever think of purging don't!!!!  Contact me if you do and we will talk.

Do not wear heels if you are not going to have something firm underfoot like a floor, concrete, asphalt, etc.  Sure they make your legs look great but if you are on grass or sand or dirt then your heels will sink in.  You will have to tip toe around.

I hope this helps.

Bonnie
