Woman Dies in Police Custody

Perhaps if the first four articles about the death of this woman, and especially the first article, had given any clue that it involved a transwoman, we might have read about this tragedy before now. It appears that she was never referred to by her [chosen] name, Kayla Moore, until one of the most recent articles.

I chose to post about this story in the Transgender Crime forum because some are calling the death of Ms. Moore, murder. -Mike

In this article, there isn't even any mention of the victim being transgender

Authorities released the victim's birth name, and used only male pronouns. A group called "Berkley CopWatch" released info that the victim was a transgender woman, and residents of the area also identified the victim as a woman.

Again, in this article, there appears to be no reference to a transgender woman, or even her name.

Finally, Ms. Moore is named in this article.
