And he calls himself a man of God? In my (good) book he's listed as a jerk.

I wasn't going to click. Then it turned out I opened the article by accident (silly touchpad). So I read it. And wished I hadn't. *sigh*

A pastor calling for mass murder? I don't even know where to begin.

And it's not just the LGBT community he seems to have a problem with. So much hate. That there are still people in this world who feel this way saddens me. So depressed now...

Pastor Steven Anderson of Tempe's Faithful Word Baptist Church has called for the execution of gays by stating in a recent sermon that "we can have an AIDS-free world by Christmas" if gays are executed. In response to his ridiculous and unbelievably offensive statement, Planting Peace invites you to make a donation that will go toward helping people with HIV/AIDS. It's clear to us that Pastor Anderson falls on the "naughty list" this year, so in addition, for every donation we receive Planting Peace will send a lump of coal to Pastor Anderson in a festive package tied with a bow that will be delivered on Christmas Eve.

You can help here... https://www.crowdrise.com/coal

Charity,

There are a lot of hateful bigots all over the world. He's like a small part of an iceberg: some of them are visible and vocal but most of those people are below the surface. I think the best way to deal with them is to follow in Marin Luther King's, Gandhi's, Nelson Mandela, and other's footsteps. Lead the best lives we can and peacefully show them that their hate is misplaced.

Most people are followers, for good or bad. If we show them the good then many of them will gradually understand and embrace us for our rightful position in the human race and our contributions to society.

Today we have a black president. Some day, maybe soon, we will have a woman president. And then a gay or lesbian. I am positive some day we will have a transman and a transwoman president. Those are the days I look forward to!

The ONLY good thing about him is that he is visible... we know where he stands. It's the ones below the surface that are dangerous - you never know how much damage they are doing, and when they will strike.

This guy is poisoning a lot of people.

Kudos to the news anchor!

Good. I hope it's a peaceful protest that will demonstrate that love and acceptance is better than hate and bigotry. In fact, we should thank him for providing this ideal opportunity to do just that.

Not to mention even his "facts" about AIDS are wrong; not all AIDS patients are LGBT, many are women and mothers in Africa. Even in the USA, there are non-LGBT patients.

Maybe I missed it... but I didn't hear him say anything about his congregants arming themselves against the TGLB community. But it does sound like possibly he's suggesting they all arm themselves so that they can defend themselves if people start getting in their faces for their bigotry...

If I spouted such hate and bigotry... I'd fear for MY life, too. Wouldn't you?

Besides being a bigot and very non-Christian, he is obviously antagonistic, belligerant and obnixious. And carries a gun to boot. Wow...whatta combination.

The checkpoints he pulled his stunts at shoulda backed a tow truck up to his vehicle and towed his butt to the detention areas in both cases. Then they should have removed him forcibly from his vehicle and ripped that thing to pieces in a search. Pretty disgusting that in the end...they let him go.

And he's raising four kids to be just like him!

..."Hispanics being good Christians". I don't know why, but I corrected him, saying "You meant good Catholics, didn't you ?" What he said next astonished me. He said "No, good Christians like Jesus was". I said "Jesus was Jewish". He said "[beep], says in MY Bible that he's was born into a good Christian family".

Wow... where'd he get his bible from? I guess it would be useless to try to tell him there were no Christians before Jesus was born.

I've always thought it rather astonishing how many so-called Christians hate Jews. Makes me wonder who (or what) they thought Jesus was. I was always confused about how people can hate Jews, but claim to love Jesus.

:::looks at the calendar::: Hmmmmm. We're, what? About two and half weeks after Christmas now? Has anyone heard any news reports about there not being any gay people left on earth? No?

Um...Mr. Anderson? Um... I think your idea didn't go over too well. 71.gif

Better luck next time.

NOT!! 30.gif
