"While the details of the situation are disturbing — particularly in light of various transgender “bathroom bills” being debated in North Carolina and beyond — similar episodes are neither rare nor new for women seen as being on the male end of the gender spectrum. And Toms’ experience is shining a light on how such confrontations can affect women on the receiving end — as well as how the growing national frenzy around bathroom use is emboldening citizens, more than ever, to become restroom gender vigilantes."  -- yahoo.com

Yeah, I saw this article too, and am so disgusted and horrified. I hope Ms. Tom is okay. It sounded like she is, but...

I can only hope that more people, especially cis women and men, will read this and comprehend more and more about what some people are doing, their behavior, and the human need to treat everyone with respect and dignity.

Did ya happen to see the story and video on the butch lesbian that was PHYSICALLY escorted OUT of a WOMEN'S bathroom by two idiot wannabe [mall] cops??   That one even got some airtime on a Young Turks youtube vid.   In another vid, they discussed a new ad that's been created - this one has a trans man in it, and addresses how bills like the one in NC would force him into a women's restroom.

It's getting pretty ridiculous.

These so-called bathroom bills are more trouble than they are worth. There's going to be a lot of lawsuits, I promise you.

I was wondering when this was going to happen!  Men and women who don't look quite masculine or feminine being told they are in the wrong bathroom.  I have often seen women in public who I question to myself whether or not they are a transwoman.  I will not approach them to ask for two reasons; if she is not a transwoman then I have just insulted her; or, if she is then I have just told her she does not pass as a woman.  My thoughts then went on to wonder if she has bathroom issues?  What about butch women?  What about transmen who can't use a urinal and can be heard peeing from the next stall, will they fear having to be questioned when they leave the stall?  I don't understand where the threat is?

The instances that happen only shadow the ones that don't get light shed upon them, the one's where the individuals are beaten, arrested, have been forced by the judiciary system to be placed on Predatory watch, to live the rest of their lives as criminals, this all because of High profile s hats who deem them selves the voice of all those who are Trans whatever.

I have, dealt with this in the mid west, the bible belt thumpers up in arms claiming untruths and being believed over the real truth. I cansay my situation worked its self out only because I kept my head and had my documents supporting me, no so for many.

Just be careful out there, carry anything that supports you, and keep your head about you, you never know who is filming your reaction.

It's sad that a person has to have "documents" just to pee
