"Among those to praise the results was Human Rights Campaign (HRC) President Joe Solmonese, who called support for LGBT equality "common sense.""

While I think it's great that people aren't [currently] burning a path to the polls to make sure that same-sex marriage remains illegal, I'm not so sure this is a sign of support as the HRC president seems to think. I think it's more a case of being able to feed your children and keep a roof over their heads is more important at the moment. -Michael

    Gay Conservative Group Endorses Romney

I hope, that if Romney does end up in the White House, that he doesn't rescind all the advancements that have been achieved in the past few years. We will have people like GOProud to thank. If Romney does become our next prez, I hope GOProud's endorsement doesn't end up slitting their own throats. And ours too. -DM

"Windsor, who worked as an IBM programmer for most of her life, married Spyer in Canada and cared for her after she was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in the late 1970s. They lived for more than four decades in New York’s Greenwich Village. When Spyer died in 2009, she left all of her property to Windsor. Because they were married in 2007, Spyer’s estate normally would have passed to Windsor as her spouse without any estate tax at all. ”Had Ms. Windsor been married to a man, rather than a woman, she would not have had to pay any federal estate tax at all,” says Windsor’s lawyers in a statement."

A judge earlier this month ordered that both Jennifer and Jessica Buntemeyer of Davenport be listed on the certificate as the legal parents of their son, Brayden, who was stillborn in October 2011, TV station WQAD reports. They said both of their names were originally listed on the documentation filed with the state, but Jennifer’s name was removed (Jessica was the birth mother), so the couple sued. Officials with the Iowa Department of Public Health denied removing her name.

" For trans women seeking gender recognition, this redefinition means survivor benefits for spouses would be affected. Any contributions paid before either 1988 or 2004 into public sector and occupational pensions, depending upon the pension scheme, would simply be ignored for this purpose. This means trans people, some of whom will be either near retirement or already retired, may be signing away many years of contributions in exchange for gender recognition. In some cases, it may be the spouse’s pension would be reduced by as much as two thirds to what they would have had if their trans partner hadn’t chosen gender recognition."

Pensions and partners could still cost trans people dear in same-sex marriage bill

  17. How many ways can Oklahoma try to keep gay couples from marrying and being treated equally?

    Let me count the ways....

2004 - The righteous citizens of the great Okie state voted against gay marriage.

2013 - Govenor Dearest Mary Fallin attempted to stop ALL benefits for married couples in the National Guard rather than allow same-sex couple to receive said benefits

2014 - Some little up-start republican, Mike Turner, wanted to ban ALL marriage in the Sooner state. That takes care of the gay problem, eh? This joker don' look old enough to wipe his own nose, let alone be worried about who's marrying whom.

2015 - And now the latest, Rep. Todd Russ ® is proposing that marriage licenses no longer be issued by any government office. He apparently believes that if the handling of licenses is in the hands of only religious officials, there will be no same-sex marriage in OK - legally.
