  1. Hey Warren, I like t-shirts that have large patterns on the front - my fav. is a Budweiser that has pool balls all over the front (circa 1993). This is such a good shirt because I can be unbound, and the balls distract from my chest. Granted, I never go out unbound. Large logos are ok, if they are straight over the whole bound part, but not if they go slightly below the underboob line, because sometimes shirts get stuck in the crevice. Tighter (or "normal" fitting) t-shirts aren't favorable for people with bigger chests who bind as well, because of the under armpit flab- ugh! That's when I'll layer with a button shirt - depending on the t-shirt (patterned or solid) is the deciding factor if it's buttoned or not. I also like vertical stripped button shirts over plaid, but if I were to wear plaid, I go for the plaid that's spread out more, than what you're wearing in your video. Simply because I am larger chested, shirts tend to cling to my underboob and I find the close plaid pattern accentuates this - where the larger plaid hides it more. Those are my pointers.

  2. I haven't been following trans-activists long enough to comment about them and transmen, but I do know that media representations have been overwhelmingly of transwomen. That may be in part because the transition is generally more visible? (going from man to woman vs. woman to man) The idea of "tomboys" has been around and partly/largely accepted for so long that it makes FtM transitioning seem less extreme. Just a thought, and that doesn't justify anything!

  3. I meant the tighter shirts in favor for the MTFs to try and add volume to their appearence, though I dont recommend them for the FTMs. But those are good points about the logos, I forgot about those noted.

  6. Wonderful video Warren! And it really is a great idea to find someone who will be honest when assessing your wardrobe. I know one thing that I had to keep in mind is to consider age and lifestyle, it was very tempting to want to dress as a 20-something girl, which would have looked awkward at best. xoxo Christie

  8. Thanks ladies I've spent the last few days alone with my thoughts and it's been good to clear my read - refocus on my goals. Work and some toxicity from people had really gotten to me. A little bit of hermitting and your kind words have done a lot to get me back on my feet again.

  9. Thank you for your thoughtful observation Brigsby. I agree there isn't as much conversation about trans men. I suspect that is because the men are less visible, but that doesn't mean we shouldn't talk about FtM issues. It reinforces in my mind that we were right, during the early development of TGGuide, when we decided to be open to all transgender people including FtM. In fact, during our recent upgrades, I am attempting to make the site more neutral so it feels welcoming for both the guys and gals regardless of where they fit on the transgender continuum.

  10. Years ago, a heavy butch Lesbian invited me to her home to watch a video, and, even though I am a mid-butch Lesbian, I cried my eyes out. My friend told me that she was glad she invited no one else, especially from the Lesbian community, to join us, because, frankly, she was embarrassed! LOL! Luckily, my beloved never put such pressure on me! We cried together, IN PUBLIC, at many movie theaters! LOL! Monica

  11. I completely agree! I've heard too many people saying she's not a hero - heroism comes in many forms.

  12. I must agree, any good - no non negative press regarding transgender has to be good, let's face it, the sheep like masses out there, always seem to look up to the rich & famous, so it helps to normalise the whole spectrum of Trans isssues. Think Elton John & being openly gay is such a similar parallel. Here in the UK we were only aware of Bruce Jenner when she had all that nasty invasive press coverage, It's refreshing to see the balance of coverage start to go in the other direction, and of course I'm glad that her life is seemingly turning out to be better. Cheers, Eve
