  2. I've had stakers in the past and at least in my case that person did not have the characteristics of a stalker but she ended up being my very own stalker for about five years. When in doubt politely break the connection between you and the would-be stalker.

  4. Ren, I'm hesitant to say much as an outsider to the issue, but it sounds at the very least like she might have a serious dependency issue (which I think can look a lot like, or even turn into stalking). Especially the part about turning on you (turning you off on facebook) but then reaching out to your friends because she's afraid something happened, those are pretty extreme responses in opposite directions and suggests not the clearest thinking (i'm not suggesting anything about her intelligence, but dependency issues can make one react very strangely). That along with the obsessive need for reassurances. That's just my impression. Christie

  5. Hello Christie, In regards to Social Security, not sure if the following fits the rules of your state or not but here in Oregon they will only change gender if the letter from the therapist is an approval letter for gender reassignment surgery and not a letter stating that the person is suffering from gender dysphoria.. Any ways congrats on what you have achieved woohoo.

  6. Wow you've really gotten your foot on the acelerator now!, so glad that you're travelling to somewhere you want to go to and be. I'm so glad that I didn't have to do a call when I visibly transitioned (came out) at work, mine was done via an e-mailed letter. I remember the angst I felt about possibly the biggest decision of my life, but I reconciled myself with thinking, that for over 50 years I'd done my duty to society, by living a lie as a male. Surely I must have earned some time, (the remainder of my life) to be who I want to be, and that somebody was the real me. As you say it's such a burden to keep on living a lie, it comes to the point where you can't carry on anymore. Eve

  7. Hiya James. Congratulations. To be able to speak out in front of lots of People, is Very Good going. It Is Never too late, to turn Your life around. I have been very pleasingly surprised, at some of the support, that I have received so far. Transitioning is Not Easy, but, It Is the end result that matters. James, Good Luck, Please stay in touch Young Man. Take Care, and My Very Best Wishes, Stephanie. xoxo

  9. I had no end of arguments with organisations about copies of Deed Poll (UK Name Change) Certificates, whereever possible if an organisation was being difficult with me I close my account, go to a competitor and open an account in my new identity. I know you can't do this with Government Departments, but I feel it's a matter of principle with commercial organisations. Having said that I did get my bank to compensate me for their mistakes, and they paid for my Deed Poll too! What have social security done or not done?, it might be me, but it's not totally clear to me from reading the entries. Cheers, Eve

  11. That's all so great! The phone call sounds terrifying, but I can kind of imagine getting really into it once you start. And on the twitter point, I got a reply tweet from debbie gibson the morning I tweeted about my name change, so I know how you feel (I immediately became a teenage girl when I saw it)
