Pierced Earrings

(0 reviews)

I did it! Two weeks ago my daughter and I went to the mall and we both got our ears pierced. I conquered another fear of being different and it was great. I now haver a shared experience with my wife and daughter that I will remember as a fun thing we did together. What I didn't know about pierced ears was how they have to stay in for about 6 weeks without taking them out. How many of you have taken this plunge? I got both ears pierced because I don't believe in any of the attached meanings about 1 or two or right or left ear. I got both done because I like things symetrical and it is what I really wanted. I inherited my mother's earings and she had a beautiful collection. Now all three of us can enjoy my mothers collection. I used to buy my mother earrings and always wished I could wear them, now I am one step closer to feeling prettier and more comfortable with who I am. The earrings are obvious and so I realize I may get some comments, however in two weeks so far not one person has said a thing (that I know of). Experiencing new things in life can really be exciting!

Mine are pierced three times in each ear. I recall the third one (furthest up the ear) hurt like hell! I'm just not into pain I guess so that was the end of the ear piercing for me. I used to wear three earrings in each ear but that third set of piercings has closed up now. I think you'll like having your ears pierced. :)

Hi Amie,

Although it hurt at first and I had to keep the starter studs in and clean my ear lobes with hydrogen peroxide and apply an atibiotic for six weeks, I love having my ears pierced. I usually wear studs or drop earrings but I just love the feeling of earrings that dangle and move when I turn my head. I just bought a set of gold hoop earrings and they are my favorite earrings right now.

You will have so much fun wearing all kinds of earrings and now you know what to buy your daughter and wife for those special occasions. My girlfriend and I even wear each other's earrings but you have to make sure the stakes or hooks are really clean.

Have fun!

Hugs,

I went to Claire's and had mine pierced for free just a couple of weeks after I decided it was time for me to discard him. The therapist I was using had asked whether I was going to do one or both to which I replied "I'd rather not be viewed as the 'old fool not realizing he's not young'." I very much doubt that I will get multiple pierces in either ear.

I just had mine pierced three weeks ago! It was a little scary and hurt a little but it was over pretty quickly, with new titanium studs in place. They are healing fine, no pain. As far as I can tell they are healed but I've been advised strongly to keep up with the twice daily saline soaks for at least 6 weeks. Okay, better safe than sorry...
