I haven't used a male toilet on purpose for over 24 months now and have never had any issues from that, whether at work or at more public ones in pubs and shopping centres. I've also used several unisex toilets in pubs around London and fully support their wider adoption - just as long as I don't lose the nice big make-up mirror ;-)

There are a number of states that have such restrooms but I feel they all should in this day and age the social implications involved with such a divide greatly increases the risks and issues by so many in the FULL Time portion of the SOC rules , once again the rules playing around with our lives , I digress , ok if I use the mens room ENFEM then that posses great personal risks to my physical well being , I use the Female restroom like I should then I can possibly be arrested for indeacensey in public , possible predator tag and risk being placed upon the child predator list ( sex offender ) for the rest of my life , Just because I have A Carry letter doesn't mean a Damn thing if a cop wants to book you He is going to do so , that posses another risk because if you havent had your SRS then your going to be placed into the male holding , once again personal risk .... So what is the Happy medium here , Unisex bathrooms good start but still not an answer , I dont know I get such a queasy feeling any time I have to use the restroom out , travling such as I do I run around in what I believe are the riskiest states , Missouri , Oklahoma , Texas can you say good ole boys .... ok Not so much trouble as of yet but I get more looks then I care to . I dash and splash when I have to use a truck stop restroom , because I frequent the same locations the staff is and are nice and polite but the customer turnover leaves much to be desired because of varring oppinions and beliefs , getting a bit more tence I believe it might simply be myself being overly sensative to my surroundings but I am leaving no room for any such violence or legal issues , I suppose just make sure you have your documents in case you need a back up for why you were using that restroom at least until the laws have been changed in more favorable treatments for us all .

I dont care if I am dressed male (which is really hard to do since I dont have any male cloths ,lol ) or enfem I dont like public restrooms , Nasty ,nasty , I still have to tinkle I have to , leave me alone you untollerant bastards , LOL .. take care and be well and healthy

Wow - Sometimes I forget how much better it is for us in the UK. Police are instructed to treat people as per the gender they portray with disciplinary action if they don't. I've never carried any letters etc. to prove I'm transgender and not a 'pervert' and although I have had some issues with members of the great unwashed public its been small and generally just verbal.

Though in slightly different ways, transmen have to deal with public bathroom issues also.

For guys like me who don't look all that feminine to begin with, there are often stares of disgust or disdain (not sure which) from women when I walk into a public bathroom. Occasionally, I will even startle a few. And there have even been a few situations where a woman entering the bathroom has turned and quickly exited after seeing me, thinking she was in the wrong bathroom.

Unfortunately...though I might not be immediately perceived as female at first glance, I don't look male enough to go into the men's bathroom with totol confidence. And while transwomen might be at risk in some places in a men's room, I sorta think there would be more of an air of shock or disbelief if men noticed a transman (that isn't quite passing yet) in the men's room. I sorta get the impression that it is women who "raise an alarm," so-to-speak, when they encounter someone they believe to be of the wrong gender in their little corner of the world. But even if I didn't cause a stir in a men's room, I don't wanna be in that kinda spotlight - the women's room is bad enough.

Because of the bathroom woes, I will go to the bathroom before going someplace...even if I have to stand there a few minutes and force a solitary drop out...just to keep from having to end up going somewhere in public. When I do find I have to go while I'm out somewhere, I will try to find a reason to go into a convenience store if one is near-by - they often have single seaters. I also scope out the locations of bathrooms as some places actually have single unisex/handicap bathrooms in addition to larger multi-stall facilities.

Yeah...it's a pain - sometimes literally! It would be nice if we didn't have to fret so about where to go when we gotta go...whether male or female.

I was checking out some links on a page of links for transmen and ran across this website - http://safe2pee.org/new/, where you can find single and gender neutral bathrooms in public settings.

Might be useful, and is apparently not just for here in the U.S., but in other [limited?] countries as well.
