Hi there! I finally decided to come out of hiding lol I've read many things here and found that I related to a lot of it. Well I guess I should say a little about myself. I've known for a long time that I should be female but was forced to act like my physical body's sex or at least try. I just don't know what to do about it. I can't tell anyone that's in my life about it. I could never tell my parents because they would never understand and I have no friends. I have a brother but we've been enemies for years. There have been many problems in my life and all those problems have been inside me. All the time, silently I had to deal with the torment inside while on the …

Regardless of your physical outside, are you a woman? This question was posted by Valerie in another thread. I did not wish to get off topic there so I would like to comment on this statement here. I apologize for writing so much, my mind never seems to shut down, I guess there are medications that could help me think of nothing but then I wouldn't really be Amie then would I. This statement struck me because of how it was worded. The majority of people in this world would say that it is your physical outside that makes you a man or a woman. In other words there are still people in this world that believe there is no real difference in brains of men and wom…

Last night we were hanging out with some friends who were talking about how they periodically have "girls-only" and "boys-only" parties. They send the guys over to one house to do as they will (commonly, I understand, this has to do with drinking and watching kung fu movies). The girls to go another house to do as they will (apparently this involves a lot of cooking and watching movies of some sort, I don't know). Now I'm not super comfortable with either one of those things, but nothing says I have to participate. But they expressed an interest (as did my wife) in hosting one of these parties, of course the girls' one. This really put me in a sticky situation because …

This is my first comment on this site. I hope it may be of interest. I live in a Latin American country so dressing fully feminine is hard to portray most of the time. Still I can wear nail polish on my toes and fingers most of the time. You just have to pick your colors carefully and call it rock and roll. On the street being addressed many times as him or her.I enjoy all of the roles. With the help of a marvelous partner I am able to be comfortable in my own skin. Whether it be perfumed, or sweaty from working the farm. Many Trans Gender persons feel to be validated they must go all the way through full reassignment rather than finding their own comfort zone. Hiding t…

I know that we have talked about this subject many times but I will never get used to people talking about me. I was at the mall the other day and I over heard some guys talking about me, saying "I couldn't tell if that was a man or a woman". I usually just ignore such talk but I just don't know how you can let it keep from bothering you. Should we just accept such behavior as a fact of life because of what we are? Am I alone in these types of situations or have others experienced such circumstances? :(

I am going to the cosmetic surgeon monday at 2:30 to get Juvederm injections in my upper lip. It lasts 4 to 6 months and promises to give me a kissable pouty mouth. I'm in my fabulous 40's and I'll be damned if I'm going to spend the next 50 years of my life with no upper lip. If I have a 'trout pout' you will see one angry freemouse monday evening. I am nervous and praying that I dont turn out like the cat lady, see below. This aint me, it's catlady.

I finally got to watch the movie that my spouse says that she accidentally erased from my DVR, right! I found the DVD on ebay and watched it last night all by myself, well with my two kitties and my dog, but they don't count really. I loved that movie. At the end when the motorcycle guy offered to escort the funeral procession, I never cried so much even when I watched old yeller as a kid. Unfortunately I got a late phone call and while I was crying I had to answer the phone so I had to rewind it and watch that part again. I hope that the person that called didn't think that I was being beaten or anything? I highly recommend this movie along with "A Soldiers Girl" as th…

i started dating a trans girl earlier this year. We really hit it off and had many things in common. It was a really great relationship until we became serious. I wont go into details but i think im done with dating until after surgery. Besides, i think my hrt is sorta getting me into being attracted to men now. Stay away from relationships until after transition. not worth the pain.

I am going to say less and listen more on this one I am posting. I am becoming more comfortable in public situations, especially with friends, but 3 times in the last month I have had car trouble, twice where I was towed off the road, and a few times needing to deal with auto repair shops. Each time I was not completely feminine as I did not have make-up and was dressed conservatively. I am starting to really fear those unknown times when I may find myself face to face with people that will probobly recognize me as a man and discriminate me in an unknown matter even to myself. Some situations you just cannot walk away from. Until I am more confident I really fear th…

Hey everyone I haven't been around here recently. I've been going to another board, but it's gotten full of angry trans ladies and I don't feel it to be a positive environment, so I'm coming back here for the time being. Maybe I'll stick around a while. Anyway, for those who don't remember me, I'll do the numbers: I'm 19½ Hormones for 2½ years SRS scheduled with Dr. Bowers this June Have had Laser on what used to be my moustache Getting Electrolysis to clean up for surgery Had name changed over a year ago Now getting to what I really want to talk about... I've been dressing as a girl in public and going as Natalya or Natalie for about 20 months, but I did…

This is a transgender positive commercial for Banco Provincia that aired in the mainstream media in Argentina. It's very interesting - a must see for the transgender community. I'd open an account at Banco Provincia if I lived in Argentina. Kudos to them! Click here to view the transgender positive commercial by Banco Provincia

Readers - i moved the post below, made by shannon (and replies with it) to afford the topic it's own space. quite often readers have questions or concerns about how to go about getting the gender and/or name changed on their BCs, or whether their state will even allow it. in the thread it originally came from, "I Have the Feeling that I Lie" by Jesse K, questions cropped up about which box to check for gender on forms. this eventually led to discussion about correcting/changing birth certificates -michael -------------------------- "I have never had anyone say anything about it outright, but I have on occasion encountered some of these documents again, af…

While I was doing things on the com. and listening to tv.I noticed a show on G called Taboo.I'm sure many of you have heard of it but today Sat. at 2-3 cst. they had a show about transsexuals and transitioning.I didn't catch to much of it but it showed transsexuals from many different countries. I found that Samoa is quite accepting of transgendered people. It also showed Dr. Bowers and many other places.I don't know if they'll have it on again and I didn't catch the title of the show but one can check their guide to see if it's on again if your interested. Hi Everyone, I've been stewing about this and wasn't sure where to put it, so decided to get it out on it's own topic... The male testosterone...I've heard makes you "hairier, greaser and more horny.." and that is sticking with me like a raspberry seed in my wisdom tooth. Though I definitely want to transition at some point (and sooner than later is starting to sound super nice) I don't *like* hair on the face, or underarms. It's just me. I'd rather stay basically hair-free (though hair on my lower legs is fine). Add to that the idea of being "greasier" doesn't sit well at all (more prone to acne, perhaps?). Call me silly if you will, it's just the way I feel. I…

Happy New Year, east coasters! Well, in about 15 minutes anyway. Tonight I am doing lots of shaving, maybe I'll try this face mask stuff my friend recommended, me and my wife will probably do each other's nails... and I'm not wearing any guy clothes. It's a symbolic little ritual for me as I pass into the new year, leaving baggage behind! And my one resolution really (that stuff I mentioned on the other thread was just serendipitous timing) besides "live another year" (thanks Kristi ) is that I'm not going to switch out to guy clothes until the first day of the new year has passed. If that means I have to pull out my androgynous girls' stuff to go out.. then that's wh…

hey everyone - just thought i'd let you all know i'll be out-of-pocket pretty much as i'm off visiting my mum. well, actually... mama annie told me that i should let you all know why i'm not here. lol...women always think of things like that. anyway getting on my mum's computer is not the easiest and i'm thinking i've been fairly lucky today finding a wireless connection in the area. so...i'll check in when i can. may just read mostly since i dunno how reliable this connection is. i'd be mighty pissed if i started some kind of big philosophical debate or reply and someone (whoever it is). I am just abit curious, open for all those concerned......I was five when I awoke to the realization that I wasn't me, at what point in your life had you realized that your body was not your own.....did it hit you all of a sudden or was it gradual..Did you awake in a cold sweat or just a calm over took you... did you get the preverbial light pop up over you and you just knew....and at that time was your name realized or did you have to find it hiding within you... I know at once what my name was it all came crahing down on me at once like a ton of bricks...( BAMMM ) I realized who I was completely....does this happen to everyone or just a few.... did you tell any one at …

I've been looking around the forum for the last few days, and I've decided to join up! I'm in my late teens, and I guess my story is similar to a lot of others: I remember I was four years old when I told a woman at daycare that I was a girl, I got along well with other girls in my childhood and was basically happy until (drum roll please!) I hit puberty. On the upside I could open pickle jars really easily but the rest of it - the unwanted physical changes, being one of the "weird" kids, thinking I was gay because I didn't date anyone - all that I would have gladly avoided, I have a male body but have always felt like a girl, so I guess that's why I'm here. I don…
