Dear Jo jo, I sincerely hope you are well. I and many others in this forum have been concerned about you. As far as I know, you have not written any posts in awhile. You know how we are similar in certain ways, especially in wanting to be a female, making some efforts to live as a female, yet feeling a need to maintain existing marriages, thereby compromising some of our strongest inner needs. Jo jo, I hope again you are well. Best wishes. Koreen

I have looked into my states rules on changing my name. The process seems straightforward. If I was single and alone things might be easier, but many people strongly identify with me as a male because of my past and my traditionally male name. I like the name Amy very much, after writing so much on this website and becoming friends with other transgender members I really do feel like Amy as well. My mother always told me that if I was a girl she would have named me Sarah Jane. Since my mother did not know whether she was going to have a girl or boy when she was pregnant she had a boy and a girls name picked out. I can't help but think that my name really is Sarah b…

Actually it came to me in my sleep, probably because before I went to sleep, I had been researching way to finance my surgeries. Anyway, heres my idea. Alot of us dont have surgery because we either cant afford it or dont choose to get it. Well the ones who do want it anf havent got it yet, is most-likely because they cant get a loan because of poor credit, they maybe unemployed, it could be because they're full time students, whatever the reason. Money is tight all over the world right? Okay, because we have thousands of people on this messageboard, and it is active. I see different faces/names posting/joining everyday. Now what if everyone here could take two dol…

Last year, I was considering the possibility that I may be a transgenderist. I would define me as somewhere between a crossdresser and transsexual. I don't want to transition or take hormones. I have been dressing more and more. I would live full time as a woman but my marriage is more important. I am equally comfortable in both genders, but I prefer the feminine. I am complete and liberated when I'm dressed. Also I don't feel constricted by what society says that I'm supposed to be. There are days I feel neither male or female. There are days that I feel that I'm both. I realized that I have crossed another threshold in my journey, something that two years ago I belie…

Hello to everyone : First of all let me thank Bobbie Jo for showing this group to me . A little about myself *** I am a 62 yr young woman living in the shell of a male . I have been hiding this since I was about 9 yrs old . Wearing dresses and other Girls clothes at a young age and enjoy every moment I could be alone at home . I could never take on the macho image that people expect for someone my size 6ft 4in . Usually keeping to myself or chatting with the young girls in the Neighborhood . Always noting their hair and makeup fingernail polish . I kept all this inside me always asking myself why I was a boy. Years went by I got married a…

As most of you know, I don't plan on ever transitioning--and I'm a lesbian. I spoke to an older lesbian recently; she suggested that I try to meet lesbians my age and told me that if she were my age, she could "almost" fall in love with me. (She knows I'm a girl and says she can really see it.) This surprised me, because I look unmistakeably male in my physical appearance. (It's mostly people who can't see me who think I'm a genetic woman.) I had read about women in men's bodies finding lesbian partners, but because of how I look, I thought I would be more likely to be my state's candidate for Miss America than to ever have a lesbian partner. Also, I recently me…

I wrote about a year and a half ago about having painful cramps in my leg one night, wondering afterward if taking estrogen or spironolactone may have caused the cramps. I contacted the physician who has and is prescribing female hormones, spironlactone and finasteride for me to ask him if taking any of them could cause leg cramps. He said probably not and suggested I take a magnesium supplement, which I have been, later discovering magnesium supplements are worthwhile for several reasons in helping to promote proper health. Later I realized I had had the painful leg cramps only about a day after returning home on a long plane ride. I know people need to be careful on …

So what are the so called keys to a succesfull transition, are they when you have made the dession to start make the move to talk to your doctor and start taking the hormones and then finally getting the corrective surgey does this sound as though these are the keys to a succesfull transition no note to me either I think that anyone can do the above a little money time and a couple of pieces of paper dont make a succesfull transition and dont make the woman or a man You are succesful when you are truely confortable with who you are and how you look ( Because god knows if we dont look the part then we arent successfull in transition.ooohh thats one ugly broad or that doods …

Hello! First post here, so I suppose an introduction is in order. My name is Michaela, I go by Kayla or Kay as the mood strikes me. I'm 19 years old, male-to-female, out to a few close friends and my sister. Pre-just about everything, long-since graduated high school and already a college dropout (yay!), live with my mom and sister in southern California. I was seeing a psychologist early last year, but she died a few months before I accepted my gender identity enough to actually tell anyone about it. For a number of reasons, I'd really like to start seeing a psychologist again, but I'm not quite sure how to find one who has experience with transsexuals, and I can't exact…

Prior to coming out and transitioning fulltime as Annah, I used to work for Liberty Mutual as a Disability Claims Manager. In every single contract for every single Company we write for in regards to disability insurance, Transgender-related disability was always an exclusion to any policy (i.e., you could never apply under disability benefits when receiving SRS). Since I came out, I also came out to my friends at Liberty Mutual. I had made a lot of friends while I had worked there under the male persona. I was given corporate level disability claims of CEOs and other executive members who went out on disability under the contracts of AllState, Nokia, Jc Penny's, etc. …

I am a 82 year old retired professional living in North London, UK. I have cross dressed all my life, mostly in the closet. It was not until I was able to access Newsgroups that I realised I was transsexual. Started hormones some eleven years ago, a decision which I have never regretted. I did not tell my wife about either the crossdressing or the hormones. When we met and married we were living under barrack-like conditions where crossdressing was not possible and later I did not tell her because I, correctly, felt she would not accept. Eventually my wife found some of my hormone tablets I had carelessly left out and demanded to know what they were for. Ther…

Hey Lucky and All. There is a foundation in Conn., called the Jim Collins Foundation. They are a 501c3 non-profit whose goal is to help trans folk pay for surgery. They do numerous fund raisers. Go to there website for more info. jimcollinsfoundation.org. I also heard from a very reliable source, that Vt. Blue Cross/Blue Shield now pays for trans related expenses up to a life time max. I have'nt had the time to research this yet, but it did come from someone that worked on getting that to happen. So...Vermont anyone?

For the past ten days or so, I have sensed that a shift in my gender identity has occurred. I can only think and see myself in feminine terms. Even at night lying in bed, my thoughts are continually on the feminine spectrum. For the first time, I felt some discontent as a male. This never happened before. My wife also sees that everything from clothes to general life is in a feminine perspective. This past Sunday I was strolling along the streets enjoying the sights and sounds of the city. I felt an overwhelming contentedness because some situations that I was ill at ease in before didn't phase me. I talk with the public, use public accomodations without fear, and have…

I haven't been around much but thought I'd just say Hi. It's been a long cold lonely Winter. But spring is here again, So I will probably be too busy to bother much with anything. I am thankful for the friends that stayed in touch and helped get me through the depression of winter and look forward to hangin' with them in the future. I've made some new friends as well. I hope life is going good for everyone here and wish you all the best

Four years ago on this date I came out as transgender and a crossdresser. It was a liberating moment which ended the many years of inner turmoil I had about my worth. The last four years have seen much growth and change in me especially on the emotional side. Each year has been different. The first year was invested in getting comfortable in my new identity. The second year saw me throw off the baggage society puts on transgender people's shoulders. The third year was one getting to know other people in the TGLB community and understanding the issues that are important to us. This past year saw a major change in my life. I previously identified as a CD/TG. In June, …

Have many of you here went to therapy before deciding to change your entire life. I want to find some support groups in NYC before thinking of engaging in an all out transition (as far as wearings fishnets, makeup). I know I have feminine tendencies, but I don't know if I am the type to be a transsexual (it could be a strong possibility). I want to be examined because while I don't want to make any life altering decision that I am unsure of, I also don't want to be a miserable 50 year old man because I lived the wrong life. I love my long hair and want it to be even longer. I love painting my nails and wearing chokers. lol. I am going to call some places and get som…

So I'm out to friends and family, but I would like to come out to my professors at my university. Unfortunately it's a small private school, so many professors I had last year I will have again and again until I graduate. So naturally, last year they were introduced to me as a female and I have since started my transition. I would like to send out an email to all my professors to note them of the changes I have made, and to ask them to please refer to me with male pronouns and my chosen male name from now on. However, I feel that this is going to be a VERY awkward experience. I'm not afraid of discrimination, I'm just afraid to write the stupid email. lol So I just wan…

Every year I set goals rather than make resolutions. I put a time table as to when I will achieve a specific goal. This past year events happened in my life that was unplanned for. I am the better for it. I identified as a cross dresser at the beginning of the year. In May I sensed a migration away from the cross dresser spectrum. It was always my contention that my gender issues ran deeper than just wearing womens clothing. I have crossed many roads in my journey but this marked the first time that I hesitated going across. In June I identified myself as a transgenderist. I wear womens clothing all the time at home. I viewed myself being between a cros…

How far have you gone with presenting how you feel and what is the most that you think you are willing to do to bend your gender. I use to be afraid to wear women's underwear under my clothes, now this is where I am at. wear nylons or womens panties all of the time. have shaved all of my body hair including my arms and armpits for years. now have a feminine hairstyle and longer hair. Recently pierced my ears. wear womens slacks and stretch jeans Wear womens shoes that could almost be masculine, but they have more height than a man's shoe Sometimes I wear light base make-up Sometimes I wear a bra I often shop in the womens section "as Is" and push myself to …

I'm here enjoying my 'first' time dressed, life is good. I'm actually fairly relaxed and not into libidinous overdrive (thank goodness!) I realize clothing and make-up does not the woman make, but for now, I can dress-up and pretend a bit. I've got on flowy pin-striped pants, a frilly white 'blouse', hose, flats, make-up and my nails painted. Not quite feminine looking but more elegant and softer than normal. I suspect I will remember this for some time. Do you remember your first time? P.S., while I've worn fem clothing before, it was just a piece or two. This is my first time with 'outfit' and make-up.
