So yea, as I was checking my videos on youtube, I stumbled across a suggestion to check out this particular video. by the end of the song, I realized this is probably one of the most heartfelt songs written by someone who's watching trans person from the outside in. I think many of you will like it. Also, it helps that she's got a gorgeous voice. Also, Im sure many are curious if she's trans, but I think she is just a genetic woman who wrote a song about a trans friend or aquaintence.

I just don't know where to start. I sat thinking the other day about my father and how much he has hurt me. So I decided to phone him and give him one last chance, I thought to myself if he rejects me again, then I will rule him out of my life and I agreed to move on. So I rang his cell and we ended up in a massive argument, which is what I thought would happen. So I let about 10 minutes pass, then I sent him a text message - " You're just like my mother, I know you'd reject me again, well, that's ok, because it doesn't matter how many times you reject me I still love you ". So I let a few minutes pass and rang him again, this time the conversation was a lot more ca…

Last night I shared more things about being transgender with my wife. It was a conversation that was coming up because she sees me dressed much more often. I was telling her that many transgender folks have known they were this way as children. I mentioned again my feelings of being different throughout my life. She listened intently as she tried to understand what I was saying. I also shared with her that I can be transgender and Christian. It's my prayer that transgender people will take into account their spiritual condition. I do enjoy having these discussions because it helps her to see what it is to be transgender. Gennee

I have gone to alot of trans websites looking for support. In my living I deal with alot of discrimination, I hear it every day when I go to work,,,and even hear it when I work outside my home. And it seems like everytime i mention the hard times I am dealing with, I get put down by trans people in my community. They keep telling me they are not dealing with the harrassment I am dealing with...and then write me off. Like it's my fault that people don't accept me. I haven't tried to push my truth onto anyone. All I have done is try to be honest. And i will say...I now understand how brainwashing works. Because at the end of my work week....I have had so many peopl…

  7. there have been many posts about various TG/TS-themed movies...i've seen a few, some okay, some not so okay. some of you may know that i'm not a real big fan of these movies. today...i saw "bicentennial man" for the first time. if you have seen this movie, you're probably scratching your head and saying, that was no TG/TS movie! you are right...it is not a TG/TS-themed movie. but this movie seemed to speak to me more than any such film ever has. robot andrew martin's struggle to first become free, and then to become recognized as human seems so much like my own dreams - first to transition, and then to be recognized as a man. thru his life, no matter how huma…

Seeking a TG Events Volunteer at TGGuide I can't seem to keep up with transgender events. There are plenty of them occurring all around the world such as Gender Odyssy 2008 and Southern Comfort Conference (both happening in the next month or so). If someone would like to volunteer to search transgender events out and post them on our calendar I will be happy to set you up to administer the TGGuide calendar. It is all web based so no special knowledge is necessary, although familiarity with the search engines and how to conduct very basic online research will be helpful. Send me a private message or post here if you're interested. Lori

Hi folks, I'm new here, and it's a good space you have here. I am a 49 y.o. pre-op TS who moved to Costa Rica several months ago from No. Calif. Since coming here, I'm looking for some resources for the LGBT folks and I haven't found anything. It is possible there is nothing here. I did an online search and found a LGTB group and emailed several weeks ago. No reply. Since moving here I am once again thinking about possibly transitioning. But I can't seriously consider it without knowing the specifics. I would like to know where I can get electrolysis done and what it would cost to remove my beard, how much breast implants would cost, and a number of other …

  10. I always heard the statistics about suicide among us but it never hit home as it did tonight. I just came home from work and this email was in my inbox: To Kareal, Excuse me Kareal, but I have to give you a message from Sharon, before I will do as she asked me too, and close down her account on FB. A few days ago, Sharon has passed away, after a long fight against her cancer and depression. She never told you that she knew so well how you felt and what you were going through. She wanted you to be strong and fight, as you had a chance to win, she didnt. It was her time and she was not strong neough to win the battle this time. I have to tell you that she loved…

This might be a touchy topic for some of us who dont yet have kids but thought about it. I never really thought about it til recently. First with my brother and his fiance having a baby. Then I went over my aunts husbands sisters place. There was this little girl. Her mother didnt want her, and being this little girl is beautiful, I couldnt understand why she would just drop her off and leave her. I started holding and playing with the little girl. As the time passed, and I had visited her abit more. I offered to help watch her while this lady was at work. I found myself getting emotionally attached to this little girl. Now when I go watch her, it hurts everytime …

I picked up a copy the other day. This is a great series I really can't recommend enough, especially for MtFs, if you're at all interested in manga and anime. The art is beautiful, the characters are as believable as they can be (considering the circumstances ... ). The basic premise is that an extremely effiminate boy accidentally gets creamed by a space ship, and they bring him back to life.. but as a girl. (Whoops.) It takes a while into the books to figure out why, they actually do explain eventually, and it sorta works into the plot. But anyway, the basic premise is a very effective introduction to TSism in my opinion. This girly-boy becomes a girl and his friend…

Ok so I decided to really take off on my transition and to become more relaxed as to who i am. Since doing so, when i am dressed how i am suppose to be dressed, ive been getting hit on a lot by other guys. I really do not have words to explain the happiness or euphoria i go through when this happens.Or even the excitement when you smile at them and say "im sorry not right now ok?" Its so new to me. To have this unique position on the sexual social ladder. Its very fun and flattering but wisdom is a must lol. Or youll be saying yes to everyone just because you're too flattered. Transitioning. Loving it!!

  16. One of the biggest concerns we have prior to transition is passability-- whether or not we'll be able to function in society as a person of the sex opposite our birth. As someone who jumped the fence a decade ago, I have some thoughts on this. I've got this lifelong habit of throwing things into a wastebasket from across a room. 99% of the time I don't miss. There's a certain mechanism at play here-- you fling the wad of paper or empty can with the prior expectation that it will land precisely where you want it to go. I call the phenomenon "willing it into the basket." And that's how I go about my life as a rather large woman. I'm at ease in my skin, never get "fl…

  19. Well, after two weeks of pure hell, my mother finally kicked me out of the house. I am still in shock over it and very numb and I think that's my body's defenses kicking in so I don't have a mental breakdown. But, now I can honestly so without a doubt I have experienced the worse form of rejection from my family since coming out, short of murder. I have applied to a graduate school and Im hoping i can get in for their summer classes. This is all craziness

I've been really busy with school for a long time, and now I'm leaving to find a job--hopefully there's good work out there for someone with a Master's in math. I'm looking into becoming an actuary or a government mathematician. Now that I have time to post things here, I thought I'd tell you all how things have been going, for those members who remember me. I started a thread some time ago, about baby hunger and how awful it is for us to be unable to have babies. Like some of the people who responded to that thread, I solved that problem by finding the right species of pet for me. Last September, I adopted two female guinea pigs, and since then, we have added t…

"Its odd that bi-sexuality often seems to be shunned by the gay community for example last year I was as [sic] a Pride in Chelmsford and in the entertainments tent I heard at least three of the entertainers refer to bi-sexuals as 'greedy'. I was quite hurt." - Caroline (from the thread "Advice Please" by Melanie) i did not want to derail melanie's thread "Advice Please," so i brought Caroline's comment here to begin a new discussion. GLBT. or, LGBT. seems the first two initials are interchangable depending on whether the speaker is male or female. The last two initials seem always to be in the same place...and as usual, the "T" is usually last tho it has become popula…

I know it's a long shot, but I figured that any shot not taken is a guarenteed miss. I have recently been denied a job by a company. During my interviews, they *loved* my background, my interview went amazingly well, and in the final interview, they had employment pamphlets and folders out for what I assumed to be a job offer. At the end of the interview, they mentioned that they just were doing background checks for everyone they hire, and asked me if this were an issue. Because PA took 9 months to change my name, at that point, I had not had it legally changed, I mentioned that I was indeed transgendered and my background check would need to be run under my birt…
