Some of you who have seen my posts know that I had decided against having children, for a variety of reasons. Well, I've had a change of heart. I've learned that it is possible for a single person of either gender to adopt a child of either gender in this country (since I present as male and know I want a girl, this is really good news), and I've grown a little in the last few years, so I think I could be up to the task someday. So I'm researching it now, and I hope to adopt a toddler girl (even married couples have trouble getting healthy babies, so I'm sure I have a better chance of being Miss America than of getting a healthy baby), maybe when I'm in my 30s (I'm 2…

It is known that there are transgendered people who adapt to society and will never even begin transition. When two of these people with opposite brains come together, interesting things can happen. I married a woman who thinks more like a man and I think exactly like a woman even though I am biologically male. Though I do not want my penis 99% of the time. When I have sex with my wife it does work and we have always enjoyed each other. When I have sex it is almost impossible for me to visualize the experience as a male. I have always imagined myself being the woman and my visualization is so strong that I actually feel as the girl experiencing this. This is s…

I feel great my parents are in my life and still love me regardless. My parents care about me and I came over to see them today. It did go great to see them and they see I have a much better life now although my life as a boy was harsh.I am their only child and know I had a harsh life as a little boy.My mom saw at first,I fell in love with anything feminine at age 7 and never felt masculine.I was also teased and picked on a lot being called a lot of names which I will not mention. When I was 19,I told them the news I was going through the transition to become female not having the SRS.My mom supported me right away and told me she loved me regardless. My father cried at first…

Hi everyone. Been a long time since I have posted. Been working hard at making my transition work. Writing because I am feeling overwhelmed. I have so many things I need to take care of to stay in good health, and can't find a way to make it all work. I am so tired of working a job where i consistently face discrimination, tired of dealing with the same in my neighborhood, and tired of not being able to come up with a constructive way out! I try my best to be a good, honest, hardworking person. Seems these days, that don't count for much. I dare say that prisoners in solitary confinement have more freedom than I do. Sorry, just needed to sound off.

I'm not transgendered, but I am a young lesbian who has been dating a girl for a little over a year. My girlfriend recently confessed to me that she feels more like a boy trapped in a girl's body. She said she doesn't necessarily want surgery, since she wouldn't have a 'functional' penis, in her words. She wishes very much that she was born a boy, but doesn't really believe that she could become one. I always had a feeling that she felt like she was actually male, well before we started talking about it, but I still have some conflicting feelings. It isn't that I'm having trouble accepting transgender people. I always try to be open minded towards all identities, and …

I read through some of my old writings prior to and after I came out. I was a jumble of confusion and longing. I was confused about my gender. At the same time I wanted to break out of my so-called normal existence. After I came out, I grew into my new identity as a transgender person. I absorbed every experience that came my way. My gender issues stretched as far back as 2000. I didn't know what I was wrestling with at that time. It was much bigger than I imagined. I always believed that we possess both feminine and masculine traits. Why some are equated with one gender and not the other is beyond me. It shows the fallacy of the gender binary system when someone goes …

There are some people who would just giggle and stare, but sadly there are those who tend to act out their differences in a physical way, that is sometimes known as trans phobia. Well, its was my 2nd day appearance in court, to face my neighbor who decided to harass me due to my transitioning as a full-time female. Anyway I walked into court with a friend to be seated. Before the judge walked into the court room, my neighbor (the defendant) began shouting out in court saying more threats and harassing comments made against me, as I sat quietly waiting for the judge to come out. The police ordered my neighbor to control his verbal out burst in the court room, but he contin…

I have had a number of laser sessions completed and have been on hormones for nearly four months. I am living full time in my life and at work. I want to move forward and take the next step in my transition. I want and will be seeking a legal name change. It is something that I am comfortable doing and it something that I am ready for. I don't even feel comfortable using my male name. -Nikki P.S I hope everyone's transition is going good and well.

It's been six years since I came out as transgender. I remember during this time six years ago that I just discovered that I was a crossdresser. I was shocked to say the least. I went into denial reasoning that it was just a phase. How wrong I was! for several weeks I was tense, irritable, and miserable. On July 26, 2005 I came out to myself as a crossdresser. All the tension and stress dissipated immediately. I felt a sense of calm, relief, and liberation. It was a short time later that I felt that my experience ran deeper than just the clothes I was wearing. When I read about transgender, it connected with me. Now I knew that I was transgender and a crossdresser. …

Hi all. In the past weeks, I have been getting numerous calls and e-mails from people I thought were my friends...my supporters. They have been calling, asking for my help dealing with tax issues. (I used to work as a CPA). Anyway, today, I sent them a message asking for their support. I have a big meeting on Friday....one that could change my life. One that will either propel me forward or leave me letting go of everything. And, no response...except for one. This person said....I am to tired to answer your question and I still need help with my taxes. So much for having a support system. I am still trusting that Fridays meeting will propel me to a new chance …

I was thinking about how we're all seen as really strange because our gender identities don't match our biological sexes. But when you think about it, we're not all that strange, because we still have gender identities. Gender is a two-party system in our culture, just like the American political system is a two-party system. Just as voting Republican or Democrat isn't all that radical an act, regardless of former party affiliations, being male or female, regardless of physical appearance, isn't all that strange. In other words, I'm not a weirdo, I'm just a girl who happens to have a male body. There are people who don't have a gender identity at all, or are a blen…

It isn't my intent and I want to apologize beforehand if I do. Long story short, I have been a children's minister in a fundamentalist church pretty much since I graduated Bible College in 1999. I'm 35 and when I told my wife of 10 years that I was transgender, I am transgender I will always be transgender and that I felt like I have always been a girl in my soul, she pretty much took our children and left me …

Dr. Sandra Samons has a listing on the American Association of Sexuality Education Counselors and Therapists (AASECT) here. and a website here. I was wondering if anyone had any experience with her or had ever heard of her before. I've sent her an email asking about some things I'd like to know before making an appointment but it'd be nice to have an opinion not slightly biased by my impatience before I make any definite plans.

Maybe one day stupid here will actually learn not to step on soft surfaces in seven inch heels. this is the second time this is happened that I managed to break the strap on these heels, the first time I stepped on soft grass with them on, last night I stepped on soft carpet. my foot went one way, and my shoe went the other way. Oh well, back off to the shoe repair shop, at least my ankle is still intact. I need to stick to the dance floor and other hard surfaces in these particular heels. Bobbie Jo

This is just me asking for some advice, wondering if anyone else has been in this situation, so you don't have to read it if you don't want to read some silly young person being confused. I started going to a therapist last year. This person has been wanting me to take it slow, which I completely understand. This therapist wants me to try to get more in touch with being a girl, and I just feel really uncomfortable with the idea. I can't make myself do it, I just avoid it. Looking "like a girl" in public makes me feel uncomfortable, even the idea of wearing eyeliner, which some guys do, bothers me. However, I have no problem dressing up like a girl for theatric…

We have quite a few people coming through here who never take the opportunity to register. You know who you are! Don't get me wrong - we love visitors and lurkers, but why don't you take a few minutes to join our friendly transgender forum? We have a great group of members who will do their best to answer your questions, or perhaps just join in your conversations. I've been asked by someone I've interacted with for years now to provide resources, info, etc and more importantly request others if they may wish to contribute info... this is a UK effort, undertaken by the head of Greater London Domestic Violence Project... in other words, a chance to really make a difference for UK transfolk when it comes to these issues. All too often transfolk are shut out. I've seen results of davina's efforts in DV; a huge drop in UK fatalities from this cause. Those of you in the UK, and everyone for that matter... thoughts, ideas, whatever is welcome. From davina's email to me... Quote ...have managed to secure some funding to produc…

With all this discussion on the APA and how some within it want to proceed and see things.I think everyone including them should remember that when one seeks psychiatric help from a psychiatrist, the psychiatrist is there to help you understand yourself, your feelings, emotions and so on and why you think and feel the way you do about things. That being said, they then come to a conclusion based from their intelligence and unfortunately sometimes, based on their personnal opinion on an issue they think and feel they have a higher intellect and better understanding of.Giving no credit of knowledge, understanding and knowledge of self awareness of being to another having a fixed o…

I've never seen this question before and thought I'd ask. I had a vasectomy many, many years ago and I intend to have an orchi prior to SRS. By having a vasectomy first woud the orchi be less time under the knife? Would this alleviate the need for an anti-androgen? If we havwe prostrate problems; will this shrink the prostrate? With this procedure can we reduce the amount of estrogen and still get the same effect? I know many girls have the whole shooting match done at once; but as I never intend to have intercourse the depth of my vagina is of little consequence. I am seeing my endro today for the second time and will ask him also; but I …

Change can be a good thing … I have read a lot of posts by others describing why they can’t move forward and validating their decisions accordingly. It is hard to make changes in one’s life, seems the longer we wait the more compound our reasons for remaining static become. Now my point is not to push people or so much to say this is wrong … I took my time with making the changes necessary to begin transition. I have mentioned in other posts that I am a tattoo artist, my own tattoos have personal meaning and many are linked to transition and trying to accept myself (in the beginning). I have many Nautical Stars (a dozen in various places) as they are for guidance … to hel…
