A couple of opportunities have come to share my experience of being transgender. My waiting for one party to reply to me because of some details to be ironed out. A grad student wishes to inteview me. The other opportunity is on a lesbian website. I met the person who runs the site and she would love for me to share my experience. This is something that I have a desire to do. Gennee :)

Hello everyone, I'm new this site and have a question that I hope someonecan answer for me, I have yet to even get a response. My question is this, when breasts begin to grow, does the pec muscle start to deconstruct? I have a void behind my nipple that used to be muscle, the void has filled with buds. I might have wrongly assumed that I would be able to control some of my breasts jiggle because the fat had built up around my pec. But now, the void in the pec muscle is MUCH larger (less muscle), and it continues to fill with buds. Will the pec muscle go away completly, leaving me with just fat and tissue? Any advice would be great.

Hi, I'm a freelance journalist who has been commissioned by a UK woman's weekly magazine to write a feature focussing on young British women aged between 18 - 35 whose parent has undergone gender re-assignment. The piece would chart their initial reaction through to their eventual understanding of and acceptance of the issue. Case studies would need to agree to be identified and photographed but would be able to read and review the feature prior to publication. A fee would also be payable for their participation. I can be reached on 020 8931 1954 and 07976 228509. Feel free to call to request more information. Best, Paula Robinson

Last night I shared more things about being transgender with my wife. It was a conversation that was coming up because she sees me dressed much more often. I was telling her that many transgender folks have known they were this way as children. I mentioned again my feelings of being different throughout my life. She listened intently as she tried to understand what I was saying. I also shared with her that I can be transgender and Christian. It's my prayer that transgender people will take into account their spiritual condition. I do enjoy having these discussions because it helps her to see what it is to be transgender. Gennee

I wrote this several years ago, and although I might today "tweak" for redundancies, the message of this essay is still to my mind, relevant. (Gentlemen-- Although this is written partially with the ladies in mind I would ask that you consider that section from your own perspective) I offer here my four step process for self improvement. Each succeeding step is harder than the previous-- I won't kid you. I'm still working on #3 and #4 myself! My mantra is this: * BE yourself * ACCEPT yourself * Be GOOD to yourself * LOVE yourself Seems simple, yes? Well, let's take a closer look at each step... #1-- BE yourself The starting point.…

Some of you who have seen my posts know that I had decided against having children, for a variety of reasons. Well, I've had a change of heart. I've learned that it is possible for a single person of either gender to adopt a child of either gender in this country (since I present as male and know I want a girl, this is really good news), and I've grown a little in the last few years, so I think I could be up to the task someday. So I'm researching it now, and I hope to adopt a toddler girl (even married couples have trouble getting healthy babies, so I'm sure I have a better chance of being Miss America than of getting a healthy baby), maybe when I'm in my 30s (I'm 2…

It was the beginning of a Monday morning sometime around 12am, so the sky was still dark. Anyway, I had a throbbing tooth ache that didn't allow to rest. So I got dress and prepared to go to the hospital's emergency room, to give me pain meds. During the registration process, I wrote down on the forums using my biological since I didn't get my name changed legally just yet, and next to the name I wrote my female name that I wanted to be called by as "Rhonda". The treating nurse called me out by my biological name, which caused a lot of heads to turn around wondering why my gender expression MTF didn't match using male pronouns? I was hoping to avoid being starred, anyway …

Hi bonnie! I have been lurking for a few days and just came across a post of yours saying you are going back home. That is a huge step. Under what terms are you getting back with your wife on, if you don't mind me asking. Are you preparing to live your life as a male? I remember when you left, and how that was not what you wanted, but you could not continue the charade. How are you doing? -Kim

Hello everyone. It's been along time since I wrote here, glad to see Iam still registered. In eary June of this year I had a stroke that has not left me paralyzed or impaired to a graet extent, thank God for that. My endrologist took me off of the estogen pills and placed me on the patch, which I am now on and also put me on cholesterole lowering medication. Has anyone had to deal with a situation like this? Some major life changes have occurred, like eating habits, more excercise, NO alcohol, ect. What can I expect from this and although no one can give a medical opinion, I'd like to know what people think. Jolene.

I recently logged into the TGGuide message forum and saw 27 guests, 2 search engine spiders and only 2 registered members. We have quite a few people coming through here who never take the opportunity to register. You know who you are! Don't get me wrong - we love visitors and lurkers, but why don't you take a few minutes to join our friendly transgender forum? We have a great group of members who will do their best to answer your questions, or perhaps just join in your conversations. If you've been lurking for some time you'll notice that our forum is becoming more like a social networking site with member profiles, private messaging, photo galleries, personal b…

Four years ago on this date I came out as transgender and a crossdresser. It was a liberating moment which ended the many years of inner turmoil I had about my worth. The last four years have seen much growth and change in me especially on the emotional side. Each year has been different. The first year was invested in getting comfortable in my new identity. The second year saw me throw off the baggage society puts on transgender people's shoulders. The third year was one getting to know other people in the TGLB community and understanding the issues that are important to us. This past year saw a major change in my life. I previously identified as a CD/TG. In June, …

Maybe one day stupid here will actually learn not to step on soft surfaces in seven inch heels. this is the second time this is happened that I managed to break the strap on these heels, the first time I stepped on soft grass with them on, last night I stepped on soft carpet. my foot went one way, and my shoe went the other way. Oh well, back off to the shoe repair shop, at least my ankle is still intact. I need to stick to the dance floor and other hard surfaces in these particular heels. Bobbie Jo

I am on cloud nine right now. Yesterday I went into town to finally get my license and social security change (the name on it, not the number). It was so simple with no problems what so ever. The DMV would be my first pit stop. In total I was there maybe for ten minutes. There was no confusion on their part as to what I was doing. All I did was show them my court order and the rest was pie. My temporary license is in my possession. The actual card will take a couple of weeks to come in the mail. After that mission was complete my next stop would be social security. The social security office was just a block away. I enter the building and find a room of people sitting …

Dr. Sandra Samons has a listing on the American Association of Sexuality Education Counselors and Therapists (AASECT) here. and a website here. I was wondering if anyone had any experience with her or had ever heard of her before. I've sent her an email asking about some things I'd like to know before making an appointment but it'd be nice to have an opinion not slightly biased by my impatience before I make any definite plans.

Hello to everyone : First of all let me thank Bobbie Jo for showing this group to me . A little about myself *** I am a 62 yr young woman living in the shell of a male . I could never take on the macho image that people expect for someone my size 6ft 4in . Usually keeping to myself or chatting with the young girls in the Neighborhood . Always noting their hair and makeup fingernail polish . I kept all this inside me always asking myself why I was a boy. Years went by I got married a…

Hi everyone. It has been a long time since I have posted here. As of tuesday my legal name change has been printed in a newpaper. I was almost moved to tears. Now I await my affidavit so that I may change my social security, I.D and all other documents. Also I am in grooming academy to become a petstylis. Everything is going well and I love how things are going. I have been full time since January, my name change is almost complete and I am embarking upon my first career. I feel so lucky and accomplished. Thank you all for listening. -Nikki

I wrote about a year and a half ago about having painful cramps in my leg one night, wondering afterward if taking estrogen or spironolactone may have caused the cramps. I contacted the physician who has and is prescribing female hormones, spironlactone and finasteride for me to ask him if taking any of them could cause leg cramps. He said probably not and suggested I take a magnesium supplement, which I have been, later discovering magnesium supplements are worthwhile for several reasons in helping to promote proper health. Later I realized I had had the painful leg cramps only about a day after returning home on a long plane ride. I know people need to be careful on …
