D.O. Cauldwell, M.D. “documented the range, intensity, and terrific flexibility of the American libido at least as well as Alfred Kinsey, but without leaving a comparable trace in the historical record – although he is now recognized as the first person writing in the English language to use the expression “transsexual” which appeared in one of his Sexology articles in 1949. (The neologism already existed in German medical literature, and it is possible he picked it up.) The pamphlets on transsexuality are now among the rarest items by Cauldwell. In 2001, the peer-reviewed International Journal of Transgenderism devoted a special issue to Cauldwell, reprinting some of his…

The Transsexual Stigma Montreal Gazette (blog) Hoping to find Mr. Right and live the American/Canadian dream after you have transitioned? I'm not saying that all Male-to-Female folks will strike out in finding true love with Prince Charming. But it might not be easy. From what I've seen... A reality check worth reading for anyone who fantasizes that they'll transition and meet their knight in shining armor. ~ Lori

  8. “Two years ago, a woman named Kathy had a pivotal conversation with her daughter. At the young age of 24, her daughter told her she wanted to transition from being the woman Kathy and her husband had raised into the man she had wanted for so many years to become.” - Patrick Wallace Once a Daughter, Now a Son

Sometimes I wonder what is worse, trying to pass as a woman while living out my day as a man who thinks like a woman, not attempting to pass at all but just carry on in my life with confidence, OR getting all dressed up to present as a woman knowing that some people will definately recognize that I am a man trying to look like a woman who may or may not feel sorry for me having to look so odd. I try to act ignorant of anyone looking at me at all, I don't really want to know what people think of me, but if they are interested in understanding why I act this way then I am more than happy to explain. Some days I look in the mirror and I see the feminine beauty in me. …

  11. Take a gender expression/body consciousness survey and make your voice heard! Please click on this link to fill out a quick 10- to 15-minute survey (it's anonymous): https://academictria...2bEMlKgxcTHJFTm This survey looks at how people feel about themselves, their bodies, and their gender expression. The main goals of the study are to promote gender diversity, and help people understand the different experiences of gender non-conformists. All genders are welcome and encouraged to participate, including but not limited to those identifying as agender/non-gender identifying, androgynous, bigender, cross-dresser, gender fluid, gender queer, and transgend…

One of my transgender friends explained to me why I was often frowned upon because of my clerical errors. A "he" slipped into a forum or private message by mistake is enough to hurt someone's feelings without meaning to. But where does this 'he' come from? Before my friend explained, as far as I was concerned, as long as the person hadn't made their complete transition, I tried to say "she" to please them because I thought they were a crossdresser. ERROR! ! A serious mistake that I now know hurts. I now know that a person at the start of a transition process is already a woman trapped in a man's body. The problem is that this isn't written on her face …

  14. Hi all, I thought I mention some common sense pointers: It takes way too long for dating interaction through social media websites, It costs on average registeration and per monthly fees $45 for premium access and full features, Response time from male or women it can take forever to get a reply or actual meeting in real world (for me its easier to go out and meet and greet ), Lastly for trans male to interact with male to link up the male checks on trans to see in every detail who he is meeting with. Generally I put all my facts straight up in my introduction page so I don't have to go with introducing myself over and over, the pitfalls of trans dating versus…

Haii my name is Kira but my friends call me Fatigue . After comming out and going to group, i met a transgirl names Roxy who was able to lactate, and proud to mention it, but when i asked how she did it, she gave me the most vauge answer like she didn't want people to know and keep it to herself. and i wasn't about to stop my hormones for an unknown ammount of time in order to induce lacation hoping to start again at the right time... so if anyone knows how to do thing i would like a detailed description of how and all the steps from breast pumps to hormone manipulation. thank you very much :3

I recently received a survey from Facebook on behalf of a third party company. Checked the company out and they are indeed a valid survey company. The survey, the way I saw it was genuinely concerned about the LGBT community and if you are on FB would urge you to take the survey. The survey comes from an email so look for it in your inbox.

After much thought and discussion with my wife we have decided I am going to take the next step . It is our goal that by years end I will legally change my name but with a minor concession to protect my job,I know that sounds silly but I cannot afford to risk my livelyhood. This means I will retain my first name with Victoria Anne as my middle but I will get an ID card ommitting my first name. For now this an excepptable compromise but none the less it is a step forward and I feel good about it.
