Today, I clikked on a link in the profile of one of our newest members, MindOrMirror, which in turn led me to clik on a map she has on her webpage. The map is a graphic which shows where in the world LGBT people have rights and where being LGBT can even get you killed - legally. The map is a stark compilaton of all the bits and pieces of info and news we read scattered across the media. Recently, a post was made by prettyinpink1979 in the thread " in which she wrote, "...we may be the most sophisticated nation on Earth, but we are far from the most cilivized and we rank as one of the lowest first world countries in terms of education." I guess that in the U.S. w…

It's convenient to just dismiss these words as hate terms. We've been preconditioned to anticipate abusive blows

Sunday morning finally came although it was about 4 am on Saturday that all the fun we were having finally ended. Breakfast on Sunday gave me a chance to meet another great of girls like us. I met a few girls that have had parts in movies and live plays. Most of these wonderful people were much older than me, but, all were beautiful. That afternoon the event I was waiting for was finally stating, a dress and shoe fashion show. I was going bonkers over all of the shoes that were being shown. I was in 7th heaven as I am a serious heels girl. I finally found a very sexy sandal without an ankle strap. I do not like the way I look in a dress with ankle strap sandals. They make…

Sharon Shattuck, 15 Jun 2012 "My dad was super (or, "supor," as it were): He cared for me and my sister every day while my mom was at work, keeping us happily occupied while he juggled his own landscaping business. He encouraged us to be assertive and fearless tree climbers and communicators. And he taught us to be open-minded and accepting of others..." -Shattuck, huffingtonpost.com "Supor Dad"

Things are really crazy politically. I’m terrified. I’ve started letting facial hair grow, and presenting as male. In his first term, we were made into the preferred boogeyman, and things have only gotten worse. God forbid you have any Hispanic heritage. They’re already trying to dox anyone with dark skin. They’re trying to get people to do the same thing people did in Nazi Germany. People reported their neighbors for being Jews, here they’re wanting people to do the same thing with anyone they think is Hispanic. Im not Hispanic. But I am transgender. While the hate and terrorism towards Hispanic people is beyond extreme, it’s equal for us. The men aren’t in anywhere…
