Recently I've read some posts here and at other places that some feel that they are too old to transition or to make the changes needed to be the people they want to be. It's never too late to make positive changes. Change is not easy but consider the alternative. Do you wish to be miserable and unhappy or do you desire to be happy, content, and full of vitality. Society will tell you that when you're in middle age, you're no longer productive or that you have nothing of value to offer. What gets me is that society thinks that we do not have the creative ideas or the desire to make change. Yes we can change and we can have an impact on others. When I read posts I'm…

  3. By Fiona Macdonald 20 July 2017“I feel like a mermaid. My body tells me that I am a man but my soul tells me that I am a woman. I am like a flower, a flower that is made of paper. I shall always be loved from a distance, never to be touched and no smell to fall in love with.” Heena, 51, is a hijra: a term, according to Bangladeshi photographer Shahria Sharmin, that has “no exact match in the modern western taxonomy of gender”. Ok I have been reading a lot around here for days. I would like some insight on this matter. My drivers license has a place for indicating SEX which will be M OR F. It does not indicate gender identity or sexual orientation. To me it would seem that there are many reasons why your drivers license should accurately indicate your biological sex. It may be embarassing at times but what about some good reasons for accuracy here. I am not absolutely sure about this but I think there could be emergency circumstances where a particular procedure or medication would be different for a male or female. If an officer calls in a victim who is barely alive needing assistance …

Four years ago on this date I came out as transgender and a crossdresser. It was a liberating moment which ended the many years of inner turmoil I had about my worth. The last four years have seen much growth and change in me especially on the emotional side. Each year has been different. The first year was invested in getting comfortable in my new identity. The second year saw me throw off the baggage society puts on transgender people's shoulders. The third year was one getting to know other people in the TGLB community and understanding the issues that are important to us. This past year saw a major change in my life. I previously identified as a CD/TG. In June, …

Living two lives?? I am happy with the life I have lived up to this point. The friends that I have know me as a male, and for years they have used my name with others and identified with who I am. What troubles me is my need to resolve my Gender Identity Crisis within myself. If I look at my life number one as presenting the real me but with a male costume on then I could present in life number one, looking at it as an acting job. I go to work, do my thing and go home. I currently do not have a social life. The only time people see me as a male is when I am performing or freelancing in my Video Business. The only other time people see me briefly is at church, w…

  10. I have noticed an uneasy trend among the transgender community. I am not saying it is everwhere and it is with every transgender person but it is something that I have been seeing more of and that is the "over bearing of our rights and ideals" against people who do not deserve to be attacked. I am an activist and I volunteer with many humanitarian not for profits to push equality for all LGBT people. With that said, there is a right way of going about doing this and there is a wrong way. Thw wrong way is to send angry letters to everyone "you heard" have been unfair to us. Please, before sending out angry letter or emails to someone you "heard about" on the internet…

Hello! First post here, so I suppose an introduction is in order. My name is Michaela, I go by Kayla or Kay as the mood strikes me. I'm 19 years old, male-to-female, out to a few close friends and my sister. Pre-just about everything, long-since graduated high school and already a college dropout (yay!), live with my mom and sister in southern California. I was seeing a psychologist early last year, but she died a few months before I accepted my gender identity enough to actually tell anyone about it. For a number of reasons, I'd really like to start seeing a psychologist again, but I'm not quite sure how to find one who has experience with transsexuals, and I can't exact…

How far have you gone with presenting how you feel and what is the most that you think you are willing to do to bend your gender. I use to be afraid to wear women's underwear under my clothes, now this is where I am at. wear nylons or womens panties all of the time. have shaved all of my body hair including my arms and armpits for years. now have a feminine hairstyle and longer hair. Recently pierced my ears. wear womens slacks and stretch jeans Wear womens shoes that could almost be masculine, but they have more height than a man's shoe Sometimes I wear light base make-up Sometimes I wear a bra I often shop in the womens section "as Is" and push myself to …

My apologies for the whiney ennui of this post up front. I feel like I need to get it off my chest though. I'm not even completely sure where to start with this, it's all tangled up in my head... so I'll start here: I've waffled a lot. I'm not as completely sure as to the state of my mind as some of you are with yours. However, I realized the other day that if I had a "magic button" that would make me into the real GG female image of myself that I see in my head, and change everyone's memories and such to match it.. you know, parallel universe or whatever.. I wouldn't hesitate more than a second to push it. I think that says a lot. I also realized that the "full d…

  18. As a Transgender person my Gender identity is female, my physical body is male. For me this does not feel like a disorder or illness. It feels like a natural occurrence, part of the spectrum of the human experience that has occurred over millennium. It is said that change is the only constant in the universe, then transition is a universal characteristic that society would do better to embrace than shun. Although I experience Gender discomfort with varying degrees of disphoria sometimes very intense, what makes it so much harder is the ridged gender binary model I have been conditioned to conform too. If I openly defy this model I become vunrable to Hate speech, Ha…

I am a 82 year old retired professional living in North London, UK. I have cross dressed all my life, mostly in the closet. It was not until I was able to access Newsgroups that I realised I was transsexual. Started hormones some eleven years ago, a decision which I have never regretted. I did not tell my wife about either the crossdressing or the hormones. When we met and married we were living under barrack-like conditions where crossdressing was not possible and later I did not tell her because I, correctly, felt she would not accept. Eventually my wife found some of my hormone tablets I had carelessly left out and demanded to know what they were for. Ther…

  23. Helen Belcher of Trans Media Watch highlights institutionalized discrimination in Britain’s National Health Service and media 14 January 2013 | By Helen Belcher " Three of us had spent a couple of months beforehand collating evidence, much of it heart-breaking, lots of it that could never be released into the public domain. The invitation from Lord Justice Leveson came as a real shock, and involved much thinking about whether I should appear behind screens, or with the cameras switched off." --gaystarnews.com Burchill shows anti-trans media attitudes remain See related:

Hello, and greetings to all! I'm a young newly transitioned FTM. I've never really met any others in the wide world of gender issues, and I was hoping to just have a place to come chat sometimes. To get the ball rolling- I'm currently on testo therapy weekly, I got all my legal documents changed and I'm engaged to be married. There, that's me in a nut shell. SO...how's it going one and all?
