This article has been posted elsewhere on the TGGuide message board, however, it is so critically important to those considering transition that we are going to include it as a pinned topic. We have an article online from Melanie Anne Phillips about how to develop a feminine voice. You will find audio and video samples from Melanie as well. The page also includes a list of free Internet resources to help develop your female voice. This is a good starting point for developing your female voice. Developing your feminine voice takes time and work, but the results are well worth the effort. Virtually anyone can achieve a reasonably passable female voice with consiste…

okay...let's try this again. i had never done a poll on the forums before and it didn't come out as i expected. so...as i was sayin', in chat it seems that most FTMs prefer straight females for partners, and many MTFs seem to prefer females for thier partners. this has only been an observation based on the few i see in chat, so it may not be representative of the majority. also, thanks to kenny, i realized i left a choice out of the original poll/post. what's your preference for a partner in a relationship? 1. Straight men 2. Gay men 3. Straight women 4. Lesbian women 5. Bi-sexual female 6. Bi-sexual male 7. MTF (pre-op) 8. MTF (post-op) 9.…

I have read on a few websites most transsexual women over the age of 50, such as myself, using female hormones develop at most A cup size female breasts. Having at least relatively large female breasts, at least a B cup size, is very important to my female self-image.I am trying to be patient, I used female herbal supplements from January to April, have been taking estrogen since mid April, progesterone since May. I wonder what has been the experience of others in developing female breasts, without using breast implants, especially those over the age of 40. Is it true I most likely will have to settle for no more than A cup size female breasts? Also, does it reall…

Greetings all, First of all I don’t mean to offend anyone but I am simply a heterosexual male trying to understand what makes a transgender ticks. I was involved with an interesting discussion on transgender being linked to a mental illness. I was saying one that is transgender would qualify as having a "delusional disorder" because they have no premise of the reality that they are either male or female except for their thoughts/feelings of being the opposite gender. I have learned various male transgender having a female bed nucleus of the stria terminalis (BTSc) in their brains, which regulates sexual behavior. Some of the people that found this out were wonderin…

Life is becoming increasingly complicated. When I was younger (childhood), I remember wearing my mother's clothes when I could (that is, when I was alone) and feeling wonderful, but scared and ashamed at the same time because "that is not what little boys do". I would repress most of those feelings and impulses during high school (at least the cross dressing) and I thought that maybe it was a phase...I thought that since I was attracted to women that it was natural to want to know what it was like to be a woman and maybe that doesn't describe what I was going through accurately, but it's the best that I can do. After college, I married a woman and during my marriage I …

I read at an internet website about breast development for transsexual women, the development of breasts for transsexual women is usually different in certain respects from genetic women. The common differences in genetic male chest size apparently often or usually results in the breasts of a transsexual being smaller, more spaced apart, with a transsexual fitting into a 36B bra not having as large breasts as a genetic woman fitting into a 36B bra. I seem to pretty much fill in my unlined 36B bras. Yet when not wearing a bra, my breasts seem quite smaller than those of my wife, whose bra size is 34A. From a frontal view, my breasts eeem no more than a 34AA compare…

So, today I found some free time and decided to finally get the ball rolling on the name change since my family is now more or less on the same page as me and that I now live completely full time since I now *also* work as a woman. Now, the reason I only focused on the name is due to the fact that PA, where I live, states that you can only change your gender on state identification if one of two things occur: Your birth certificate, in the state you were born in, states you are of the gender you are changing it to.. or You have documented proof from your primary care physician as well as the doctor who performed the surgery that state you have undergone complete…

Hi all! In my web wanderings I have encountered a site that I really think you should take a peek at. It personifies why we are all oppressed and shunned by people we have never done a wrong thing to. Its good to know what we battle. This link will take you to an article that just fried me. I'm sure there's lots of other things on this site equally outrageous. If you look here, be prepared to bristle. Mark's opinion GRRRRR! Annie

it has been my observation that the sexual orientation of many MTF transsexuals is for the preference of women for partners. today, while reading several posts, all from MTFs, i began to wonder why this is, or seems to be, as the incidence for homosexuality among FTMs seems far less in comparison. i think for the most part, we all know there is the religious aspect - that homosexuality is a sin. i think we all are also aware of the constant barrage of societal messages that homosexuality is far less acceptable for men than for women. not only do men harbour a dislike for gay men, but so do women. male homosexuals have been killed just for being gay - i can't, off …

  18. it's pretty much well known that the suicide rate among transgendered people, and especially the transsexual, is very high. though i no longer think of, or even consider suicide, it became a constant thought about a year after entering puberty... and remained something i continually plotted for about 2 years - at least all of 7th and 8th grade. i do not know if the medical world has taken note of the most vulnerable time period for TS people, and so i wondered if there may be a pattern...perhaps something that could be considered in preventing TSs from committing suicide. if there is any one period that is most vulnerable...it may help those who come here t…

In the new millennium, we’ve come far. Civil Rights for almost everyone in the country, everyone that is, except Homosexuals and Transgendered. This time, this era, full of new ideas and technology, we must renew our rights for everyone. In the early days, being homosexual was taboo and even illegal. People have been killed or shunned by society in the earlier times for mere preference. In many states now, sodomy is still something that can get someone arrested. The law should get out of our personal affairs a little. Yes, we appreciate our government for their enforcement of laws (oppression), and keeping the peace at a reasonable level (assaulting minorities), and mai…

My favorite colors are Pink and Gold. I want to have an outfit that has both of those someday. Pink's my favorite favorite though, Gold's just my favorite. Tee hee hee, it's fun talking about this. Someday I'd like to wear a pink dress that has gold lacing on it's hem, sleeves, and lover's neckline, with white stalkings and maybe gold or pink or white tennis shoes, and a golden ribbon to tie in my hair. Tee hee hee, it's fun to talk about dream outfits, does anybody else have a 'dream' outfit they want to share? Come on, it's F-U-N! Just a question about the time required to test ones desire for SRS. Why is it needed to go thru the whole year, since in many cases, that person already spent years od practicing in closet? Some people are sure and there should be a way to skip the one year requred. Experienced consultant could determine, if the desire is genuine. Also, the HRT before causes shrinkage of the needed skin for vagina. Can stretching preserve the lenght? Didi anyone have surgery before HRT? <_<

  23. NOTE: In order to complete this poll and have your choices register, you must answer all three questions. There are quite a few difficult decisions to be made in life, and being transsexual can really complicate our choices. Being a parent, for example, can be life-altering for anybody, but for us, whether or not to have children is one of the hardest choices of all. The Raising children and being transsexual poll is divided into three distinct sections: The first part is specifically for those who have already had children, while section two is for anyone contemplating becoming a parent some day. or who has no kids. The final area, "Consequences," is a mixed ba…

Hi all. I am a 23 year old post op transsexual, having had my operation back in 2003. I've noticed that my sex drive has dramatically decreased since the operation and it's really messing things up with me and my boyfriend who i've been with for 2 years. I'm of course still on hormones but my sex drive just won't come back. I mean this is horrible, lol!!!! I feel totally satisfied with my results, body, myself in general aside from this. I just get irritated alot when my bf wants to engage in any sort of sexual contact and it's very bothersome for him and especially me knowing how sexual i used to be. I was wondering if any of you that are knowlegeable or post …
