Hi, I'm Tessa and I just found out about these forums through twitter. I'm 23 and I've been transitioning for about 7 months now. It's strange, I heard stories of rejection pretty much everywhere on the Internet, so that's what I was expecting. Instead everyone in my life loves me more now. They say I've come to life and I talk more. I guess didn't hide depression as well as I thought I did. Anyways, I'm a senior in college and I'd like to see japan some day. I'm not really into anime as much as I was when I was 18, but their culture is so different that I'd love to experience that. I've got a friend that's moving over there for a year, so he can tell me all about it.…

I have been the primary care giver for my parents for the past 5+ years Mom passed May 1 2007 Dad Just passed Jan 9 2009. My wife and I were talking about the new future we now face. I brought up SRS and Lizzy said it’s something you have wanted a long time and you will end up doing it you might as well get it done. We were sitting in Starbucks (yes there is a Starbucks in the Bahamas and tears just poured out of my eyes. She then said she wants me to be happy but she is not licking and smiled. So now begins which would be the best choice of surgeon and surgical technique and time to aggressively get my body back in shape (which I was going to do now anyway). As I unders…

Well I finally did it , I scraped the transition plan and dove in head first ! I went back and dropped Tim from my name so I am now Victoria Anne and I talked to HR and went full time the 18TH ! I wish I had know this would be so easy , I would have done it years ago . I have met with no bad reactions , rejections and have been received well at work and by customers . I have been treated with dignity and respect by all , I cannot believe how fortunate I have been . I have lost no family , friends or my job and have even found support in places I did not expect any and have even picked up a few new friends . There is one thing I did not expect nor did my wife and that …

Hi everyone, I joined this site nearly a year ago, and somewhat lost track, I would like to inform you all of what has happened since then. To recap, I went to see my GP in August 2005, and changed my name by deed of name change in April 2006. I was seen by my psychiatrist in January 2007, was diagnosed transsexual and referred for hormones and voice therapy. In May 2006 I came out to my family, they could not accept it, and totally abandoned me saying I was making a mistake. I wasn't accepted by society either. I have been beaten up, constantly abused and threatened with violence, targetted with bricks, bottles cans and stones, as well as my home targetted by th…

I am getting a little concerned, I think it is a valid concern; my psychologist doesn’t seem to be worried about it. So here it is; is it normal to become forgetful after you’ve gone onto hormones? I have been on hormones since January and am doing fine otherwise, but I find that I am becoming forgetful, how to say it, well I am a blond and.....well the comparison is becoming reality. I am worried about it however because I simply forgot a whole week (in reference to my analyst's appointment), Needless to say she was very surprised when I showed up thinking I was on time and she knew I was a week late. Any help here would be much appreciated, am I worrying about nothing…

I'm 18 and financially dependent on my mom Who along with the rest of my family is deeply religious and I'm struggling with how to deal with this or even whether i have the nerve to go through with the trans gender thing because no offense but it goes against everything i was raised with. I think that if i told my mom she would still love me but i fear our relationship would suffer .Also, my Closest cousin is somewhat homophobic so imagine how she would feel about me. i just feel like if i did this i might lose everything and everybody i knew.I also feel guilty for feeling like this and i was wondering if therapy would ever make you feel differently about things. I gues…

The title refers to the legendary Phoenix, of course. The ashes are less legendary but still there metaphorically. They are the ashes of the "bridges burnt" during my "successful" career as a Software Engineer. I hadn't known HE was burning bridges. I was told this recently by a recruiter who let me know that he'd submitted my resume to clients who informed him that they never want to work with HIM again. Now I've been unemployed more than 5 months. The unemployment benefits will run out in a few weeks. I have no savings and no other income. As it stands now HE has nothing left. Sometimes HE hasn't even wanted to live any longer and could have taken ME with HIM…

Hi everyone, I'm a gender questioning young adult (MTF) and was wondering if i should transition or not. Since i was a teenager, i felt that i should of been a girl. I wanted to grow breasts. This feeling came and gone but it slowing built up. However, i never dress before because i don't have any sisters and my mom clothes would never fit. I don't know what i would look like as a girl. However, i have a urge on seeing how i look as a girl completely dress. I have tried on a bra and it felt awkward at first then it made be feel whole. Also, i could never really relate to the guys. My role models are the women in my family. However, i don't really have girl te…

Hi all, I just wanted to say hello. Ive been transisioning for over a year and am still looking for resources and people to talk to about all this stuff. It's been a hell of a ride so far but also worth it. For me this whole situation actually gets easier and easier as the effects of HRT continue to evolve... Anyway, drop a line sometime and I will try to be as supportive as I can for everyone else here. xoxo Christine

*warning, long, meandering and more or less pointless, read at your own risk* For the first time since I started my current job, almost four years ago, I took a vaction. That's not remarkable, but it triggered a lot of feelings that I don't understand. For years now I've been depressed, drinking heavily, cutting myself and living in near complete isolation. I had decided that I wanted to change that but nothing really changed (well, the cutting and drinking part, but that didn't lead to any other changes.) Medication and therapy haven't made much difference that I can see. Being away from my day to day life was shocking. I made some decisions about my life that…

TODAY IS MY TWO YEAR ANNIVERSARY OF BEING OUT FULL TIME. I AM A VERY HAPPY GIRL TODAY. I got up at 6, went to the beauty parlor at 7, got my hair and makeup done, then I went off to my therapist at 11. Tonight I am going to a party to celebrate being out full time for 2 years. (and now getting letter #1 for SRS) At my appointment with my therapist this morning, she did the one letter I need for SRS. She also gave me a congratulations on your "graduation" card with a nice note inside and a couple of beautiful keepsakes as well. On May 1st, I should get the second letter approving me for SRS. YEA, SRS in 2011 here I come. Bobbie Jo

Hello everyone! My name is Julia it's wonderful to meet all of you. I'm a self proclaimed non-op. I just celebrated my three year anniversary of going full time as of the 11th of this month. I experimented with estrogen fairly heavily when I was around thirteen and on and off until early 2001 when I started doctor prescribed hormones and haven't been off of them since. I transitioned in Helena Montana which was "interesting" to say the very least. LOL! I'm a distance runner and love to run with my doggy every morning. I'm also an artist and work in watercolour, pastels, charcoal and coloured pencil. I have a varied taste in music ranging from industrial, ebm, darkwav…

Hello everybody! It's been a while since I've checked in here. Life, and my other internet haunts, have kept me busy. I see there are still a lot of familiar faces here, so in a way it's like I never left. A lot has happened in my life, and I don't intend to bore you with the details, but one major event has occurred which I intend to share with you all. I have a girlfriend! Not just any girlfriend mind you, but somebody who is taking much the same path I have taken. We are both trans women, all be it in very different stages of transition. While I have completed transition, she is just beginning. She still presents male full time, and is right now in the process…

If gays and lesbians can claim there sexual preference as who they are shouldn't transsexuals be afforded the same? I can not have sex with women,I'm not gay or a male lesbian. I desire men as a woman. I am a hetero girl. Isn't that enough to say I am a woman?

Hello everyone. I just wanted to stop in and say hi. I'm Angela, as you can see. I've been living with GID for, well, I guess since I was born. I've always self-identified as a female and went through horrible, gut wrenching fear as a child, thinking I was going to be discovered and beaten for being different. I'm more comfortable with it all now, though I don't live full time as a woman. Just doing it occasionally, when I am alone in the house. Anyway, hope to talk with everyone soon. Blessings, Angela

I sit along the Cross Roads looking into the night with such a heavy heart , The nights cold grip starting to take me to the darkest places I have fought to escape so long ago..... I feel the grip of dispare tightening around my chest and through my souls very strong energy I can taste its sour notes on my tounge yet again.... I am sorry To have to say That I feel like I am slipping away, waisting in this body giving my breath to the very thing that will consume me if I can not fight it away as I have in the past... I dont know if I can... I cry more , I feel my progress slipping from my grasp, can I get a hold of it? Will I be able to recover from another cold winters…

I'm obviously a girl, I know this. I also know that I want to have the body of a girl, I'm also willing to have my testicles removed. But, when it comes to full SRS I'm like hmmm don't know if I want. Then I start to question myself if I'm really a girl. Surely a true transsexual want's the whole package ( excuse the pun ). Are there other transsexuals here who feel the same,is it normal to feel this way about your penis and wanting to keep it. btw, I was diagnosed with GID last year, just for information's sake.

I got a copy of this today on the recommendation of my HRT doc and read through it over the past two evenings. Real interesting book, that. It seems pretty complete and unbiased. There are a few things I'd have thrown in there but I can't really fault it on breadth in general. Reading through some of it was really painful. The earlier chapters opened old wounds and the later chapters re-opened recent ones. *sigh* My doc said when she transitioned she just bought a stack of about 10 and sent them out to various people. Seems like a good idea, though as Michael discovered regarding this in his visit to his mom.. you can lead someone to water, but ...

There are many reasons why we cannot marry but so many more reasons why we should be able to. I stand before the many people who regard trans marriage as blasphymous or unmoral, great everybody has that right of opininion. But when it fringes on the happiness and well being of individuals in our country it's just plain very sad!!!Are we not citizens of this country, paying taxes and obeying laws and statutes. Doesn't our voice have say and ultimatley do we not have the right of freedom of gender and all the benefits that come with it. Religion Fanatics always has a way to weasel its way into politics. Suddenly religion claims that individuals do not have the right to "live…

Hi, I am finally beginning to realize that I maybe a transsexual instead of a crossdresser at the age of 55. My thoughts all day are that of interest of being a complete woman in every way possible. I dream of shopping, beauty secrets, and making love to a man as only a woman can, Has anyone else felt this way at 55 and gone on with mtf surgery? If so was it worth it? Love to hear from all of you girls Love, Robyn

Hi everybody, This is the first time I've ever posted to this forum, although I've spend many hours reading posts here and other places. I am a 57 year old MtF transsexual who came out to the world four months ago. I knew since I was 9 or 10 that I felt different about myself. I wanted to do what girls did and wear what girls wore. I wasn't clear about why, but I knew it was true. I never was able to fit into any group of guys. They made uncomfortable and were generally coarse and gross. I began to cross-dress around 12 years old and did that whenever I could. When I was caught, my parents said it was just a phase. (Yeah, right.) I eventually read about tran…

Dear all, I'm started with Herbals to change my hormonal system. It works but slowly and steady, slower hair grow, breast grow and more feelings towards my changes to Female. Less sex drive. But my body shape is ad this moment not changed. Also my mood and depressions went a way. I'm reading a lot on taking the hormonal treatments. And like to start on it as soon as possible. I like to have some live information from those having had the hormonal treatments. Did it changed the emotions, feelings, mood swings, body and did you like this changes? Love Hanske.
