I'm a voracious cyclist. I have been putting in about 24 miles a week for the past few weeks to start gearing up for the not-so-rainy-and-cold season here, and during the nice parts of the year I've been known to put in a couple of 30+ mile (one-shot) trips per month. I've got a 60 mile, multi-day trip I want to do some time when it's nice. Some day if I'm ever in shape and have the time I'd love to do one of the across-the-state type events. I got to thinking about something today though. Does SRS cause problems with things like this where that crotch area gets a lot of pressure and/or friction? My wife's a GG and she complains about it. I know I have problems sometim…

I have found they do SRS in Guadalajara Mexico for about $10,000. Yea, I know that's a low price and people say you get what you pay for. But without insurance, I have to keep it affordable if I want to get it done at all. Anyway, I have looked on the internet, and haven't found a lot of information, for or against having SRS in Mexico. You would think if they did poor work, people would be more than willing to post "DON'T GO THERE" or something like that, but I'm not finding any negative reviews. But then again, I'm not finding any positive reviews either. Does anyone out there have any experience with SRS in Mexico? Have you heard or read anything positiv…

Hi, I don't know if this is the best place to ask, but generally, MtF's, after SRS, what is your new vagina like? Depth wise, sensitivity wise, and does it lubricate at all? It's just something I've been wondering about for a long time and I would like to hear what it's like for you so I can get a general idea of what to expect in the future.

If money was no object at all, what makes some women feel they MUST have SRS, while others are perfectly content as is. Of course I understand that assimilation into the female populous is a need for all women, just wondering why some dont care about SRS while others will get it done if it's the last thing they do. Take finances out of the picture, what are the driving reasons? Also, I was wondering what needs to be done physically, if anything, before you can actually change your drivers license/passport etc. Can you also get your birth certificate changed? -Kim

Hi everyone, I joined this site nearly a year ago, and somewhat lost track, I would like to inform you all of what has happened since then. To recap, I went to see my GP in August 2005, and changed my name by deed of name change in April 2006. I was seen by my psychiatrist in January 2007, was diagnosed transsexual and referred for hormones and voice therapy. In May 2006 I came out to my family, they could not accept it, and totally abandoned me saying I was making a mistake. I wasn't accepted by society either. I have been beaten up, constantly abused and threatened with violence, targetted with bricks, bottles cans and stones, as well as my home targetted by th…

I haven’t been on for quite a while ... after a death in my family and a difficult trip to my hometown and a reunion with my Dad and brother to return and face problems at home, issues with my partner that we’ve yet to overcome. I just wanna be done with all the crap that transitioning has attached with it. I feel good in my body, my role ... my gender, finally. I’ve contributed here from almost the beginning of my journey, as I felt better I’ve always tried to be upbeat and supportive and encouraging to those at the beginning of their personal journey, facing who they really are, coming out and starting transition. It is wonderful to finally be ourselves and live in the…

I am curious to know if anyone has any information about either of these two doctors. I am asking because I am trying to find a reliable doctor for SRS. In particular, I am looking for someone who's had their surgery with one of them, or knows someone who did. Doctor Gary Alter Doctor Christine McGinn Any information, whether positive or negative, would be helpful. Thank you, Angela

Surgery Could Give Men Wombs of Their Own Within 5 Years https://ca.style.yahoo.com/post/133592340825/surgery-could-give-men-wombs-of-their-own-within-5 That’s the question provoked by last week’s announcement that the Cleveland Clinic is performing uterus transplant surgery on women who were born without a womb or whose uterus is diseased or malfunctioning. Hearing the news, we, and some of you, wondered: If science can transplant a uterus into a woman, can it transplant one into a man? The answer is yes. Theoretically, men could receive a uterus, carry a baby to term, and give birth. But what really blew our minds is that the day of male pregnancy is closer than you’d …

I've been doing some research on male-to-female sex reassignment surgery and, so far, I've only found one predominate type of surgery: penile inversion. Considering the advancements of cosmetic surgeries over the years, I'm surprised that this is the only type of SRS mentioned. Does anybody know of a male-to-female SRS procedure that does not involve removal of the penis? There are two reasons I ask this. One is that I'm trying to compile information for an academic website in which I outline the kinds of sex reassignment surgeries availabe. The other reason I ask is that it would also allow one to become somewhat intersex through SRS, without having to 'go all the way.' …

My Partner recently made a trip home to see family (we’re from the same home town), I chose (sadly) not to go as my relationship with some of my family (especially my Dad) is strained at best ... less then a week after my partner returned, I spoke to Dad ... it’s been over 10 months since we last spoke (almost 2yrs since I came out). I cried ... after all the things I thought I’d say or wanted to say none of it came to mind at the time. I called to speak with Mom but for some reason he decided to answer it, they have caller I.D. and he’d stopped answering when I call and just hand the phone to Mom. Yesterday, I heard the gruff “Hello”. 1st I froze ... I have to stop to t…

Hi Girls, I have a swimming pool-issue. It's like over 90 degrees in Bangkok and every time I look down from my balcony I see this fabulous swimming pool in the garden and I really want to have a swim. Actually, it's never busy at the pool, though there must be like 500 people living in this building, but I have no idea what to wear when I want to have a swim. For a month or so I go out into the world as a girl. That is, I don't really dress very differently from what I was used to or use make up (because of my long hair and feminine face/body people already assume I am a girl). It's interesting, because before, I would leave my home thinking: I am a feminine boy, but …

*warning, long, meandering and more or less pointless, read at your own risk* For the first time since I started my current job, almost four years ago, I took a vaction. That's not remarkable, but it triggered a lot of feelings that I don't understand. For years now I've been depressed, drinking heavily, cutting myself and living in near complete isolation. I had decided that I wanted to change that but nothing really changed (well, the cutting and drinking part, but that didn't lead to any other changes.) Medication and therapy haven't made much difference that I can see. Being away from my day to day life was shocking. I made some decisions about my life that…

I’ve only had one procedure so far which was an orchiectomy about a year ago. I have intentions of going for full gender reassignment when I’m able and feel fully ready. But I wanted to see what you ladies who already have can offer as rules and pointers about personal care. I can google this type of thing, but every time I try, all I ever get is a bunch of sick porn sites. So I wanted to “get it from the horses mouth”, so to speak. I want to know absolutely everything I can before I begin the steps to a surgeon.

So I am very lucky to have such a supportive mother. I was talking to her about all the things I have coming up with process and making my decision. She was amazed at everything I was telling her about hormones. Shes being there as usual and I am very lucky. We even discussed a bit womens names, so I have a couple good ones. I feel thats alot weight off. I also will be seeing my Dr Thurs to go over hormones levels as they are. I am kinda hoping that they are low and close to woman's. Im looking for those signs... I guess we will game plan the hormone regimen as well.... I have not started blogging yet but probably will once a firm decision and plan is in place. …

Hi everyone, I am an mtf, 27 years old, who started transitioning about 5 months ago, on hormones for almost 2 months. I wanted to hear a third opinion on an issue that is very pressing to me -- my doubts about what I am doing, namely, the transitioning thing. The point is, it feels right, and I have been dealt a few good cards by nature as to appearance (testosteron seems to have forgotten to affect both my voice and everything below my neck) and I get ma'amed several times a week in boy mode even with (still) short hair. I almost never get sirred. I realize really good passing will probably never be realistic, since my face is not perfect and I think almost no mtf ever …

This post contains excerpts from the transgender forum on this message board. How to tell your friends, family and co-workers about your intention to begin transition can be a frightening experience. Please use this thread to post your quesitons or tips. We'll start with some of mine. Note for readers: I do not recommend that anyone risk losing their family unless they are firmly dedicated to pursuing gender reassignment or their desires are so strong as to make occasional crossdressing in secrecy an impossibility. We can't control exactly how others will react, so think long and hard whether you really need to tell others in your life. I believe the most important…

Hey girls! Sry its been such a long time since ive posted anything. I joined a while back, but hadnt been able to get on the computer very often. But anyways, I was wondering if any of you could answer two questions. One, do you know any tgirls in transistion or that have transistioned that are close to or around my height of 6'4? Also, does anyone know if their are many transsexual models out there? Since I'm 18 and now beginning hormones, I feel like I can transistion into a very passable girl, except for my size, and since models are so tall, I think that I could go into modeling sometime soon and it's something that I have wanted to eversince I can remember. I want to use this forum to say thank you to all at the TG Guide for helping me to turn my life around. It was only a few short months ago that I stumbled upon this website, confused and a little afraid. I have known I am transgender since the age of five and had even chosen my name at that time, but I didn't have the language to express my feelings. I had felt ashamed of myself since being told I was depraved by my mother at the age of thirteen when she caught me trying on a pair of tights. This feeling of shame has haunted me all my life and caused the breakdown of my marriage as I was unable to talk about my feelings. since splitting with my wife I had been drinki…

Dear loving family of my new brothers and sisters, I was so depressed two weeks ago I thought I wouldn't see through to the next hour. My depression was not caused by hormones but by the severe blow to my entire being because I was finally beginning to see the people who really hate me. Despite all of the terrible words from my wife's family she is still living with me. We are now going to counselling both individually and together once a week. The most encouraging thing my wife has said to me is that she is motivated to work through this with me and that she does want to stay married to me. However, as the therapist told me she is going through a grieving pro…
