Looking for a companion. My friend has been married to a post-op trangender for 6 years now and is VERY happy! She is beautiful. In fact for the first 3 yeasr I didn't know it. I only know it know because she tol me to convince me to try dating a transgender to see that the problems associated with genetic women are gone because MTF understand exactly how you think. I don't even know where to start to find a post-op transgender MTF. I'm OK with pre-op as long as post-op is coming. Anyone have any ideas how to even begin to look for MTF when your used to looking for women?

I started following @TGGuide on twitter and Lori suggested that I join and introduce myself. I am Jeremy Mathis. My daughter is Coy, a 6 year old transgender girl. I just want to get to know people and make new friends. I have been fortunate that the very few number of people I am friends with in person have been supportive of me and my wife and especially our daughter, but I feel that they don't quite understand. Since Coy's story has been in the news, I have been able to meet other transgender men, women, and their supportive families. It is so uplifting to speak to people who understand without question. I'm BigDF and I just joined this morning. I am a 54 year old married male and I have a been a TG admirer for several years.

I have known 'Alan' for nearly 30 years. It wasn't until 2006 that I met 'Alana' and, frankly, thought of 'her' as some sort of freak. It took transition, MY transition, for me to 'see' differently -- to 'understand' there is only one person, one spirit, no matter what 'label' I chose when addressing that person - either Alan or Alana. A good way for me to explain, and understand, is using my caterpillar/cocoon/butterfly analogy. You don't see a caterpillar and call it a butterfly even though you know it will be a butterfly someday (i.e., it's difficult for me -- and I'm sure others -- to 'see' a male and recognize that male as a female).
