I have known 'Alan' for nearly 30 years. It wasn't until 2006 that I met 'Alana' and, frankly, thought of 'her' as some sort of freak. It took transition, MY transition, for me to 'see' differently -- to 'understand' there is only one person, one spirit, no matter what 'label' I chose when addressing that person - either Alan or Alana. A good way for me to explain, and understand, is using my caterpillar/cocoon/butterfly analogy. You don't see a caterpillar and call it a butterfly even though you know it will be a butterfly someday (i.e., it's difficult for me -- and I'm sure others -- to 'see' a male and recognize that male as a female). The cocoon stage…

figured me out four years ago, at least to the "I should be a woman!" stage. Even in DFW it is hard not to be totally isolated. Particularly when your 65. With my health and poverty issues, I'm afraid Orchiectomy is as close as I will even get to the dream. Still, a girl by hormones.... sounds pretty good from here! I'm here for all the help I can get (isn't there a ten minute makeup?) and because my therapist said I should reach out. Specifically I need to hear from ladies about the long term effects of no (very low) testosterone. From what my mind and pre op body tells me, there wont be any big surprises. But, that's why they call them surprises! Please, if y…

Friends, and friends of iPhone. Hi, my name is Billy. I wrote an iPhone app called TranSquat. In a nutshell, it is a gender neutral bathroom finder that locates bathrooms that are gender free relative to your current location. You can search, add and share safe locations. It was written by and for the trans community. It is powered by data from safe2pee. You can help build the app by downloading and adding locations in your own communities. On a personal note, I wanted to write an app for the trans community. It is also my fundraising goal to get 3000 downloads to help finance my surgery with Dr. Charles Garammone. So far, I only have 2956 to go. Every download helps. …

Good night, I was born as a male. Starting with 10 years, I started to dislike my body more and more. Also, some noticed then I had subtle feminine gestures, thinking I was gay too; and my body never fitted the male stereotype. Funny thing is I did not noticed any of that. I am still questioning if I will cut off my "lower countries" or not, but it is probable I will one day. My overall body, I want it to remain as it now, "a petite body" as some fashion providers call it, but in a female frame, for example, I do not desire big butt or breasts, I have small ones and I just want a bit more of both, changing my face will be the most important part to me. I live as a man bec…

Hi all! My name is sheela, which is a sanskit word meaning "harmony, and approaching life in the right way. I began my transition in May 2011, and have been living FT since January 2012, when I had FFS. The surgery was done my Dr Z in Chicago, and I'm very happy with the result. I know I have alway been female since a little child, but for ages had no idea what to do about this. The concept of being born in the wrong body didnt occur to me for a long time. I used to think that I may have been dropped off on the wrong planet. I'vr learned now that the way I look influences gratly how the world i live in will treat me. Now that I look live a woman, sound like woman…

Hi, I am unique California athletic outdoor girl looking for similar to explore the world. I am a blonde, athletic, a little taller than average, giftedly gendered lady looking to meet new friends. As a fitness trainer and bodybuilder competitor I was catapulted into the national spot light as the first transgender to compete in a body building competition in San Diego, California at the Scottish Rite Center in October of 2011. The attention and news coverage landed opportunities to speak out and about the difficulties, misconception and misperceptions that transgender individuals face on a daily and now national level. My main focus is personal fitness and publicly…

Hello to all of you. I wanted to take a moment to introduce myself. My name is Kelly and I have am a transgendered person undergoing transition from male body to female body. It has been a long and often horrible journey, living in a very conservative part of the country where transgendered persons are misunderstood. I found this area looking for support areas as the ones in the Black Hills are limited at best and do not have much ability to connect and impact transgendered people here. It leaves internet/online connections for this to happen. I am hoping that I might be able to find some forms of support through here. Hugs

Ok. So hey, I'm JJ. Now that we've gotten that out of the way, this is what I'm here for. I'm a straight male. That is who I am, that is who I have always been and will ever be. At least, thats what she tells me. Since she knows more about this whole deal than I do I will assume she's right and keep going on my merry way. In the last couple of days, I met a woman who has surprised me in ways I didn't even imagine. She's attractive, she's smart, she's feisty and snarky, she tells me I'm cute AND above all, she scratches my head which I've recently learned I really like. I think I'm going to keep her. Also she's trans. I think the most surprising part ou…

Hello, My name is Lilly Blue (not my real name) and I am a 33 year old transgender woman living in fabulous Las Vegas. While I knew at a young age I was "different," I had no idea how. I lived the majority of my life trying to blend in but I found myself suffering from chronic depression and became intent on finding out why I couldn't be happy. After ready a blog by a trans woman in Australia, I started to understand my depression. After some experimentation with cross dressing and the like, I began seeing a therapist who helped me understand myself further. Two years ago, I was diagnosed with gender identity disorder and recommended to start hormone repla…

Hi all, I'm very happy to be here. I am 62 years old and MTF. I came out at 60 and started transition 20 months ago. I live on Long Island, in New York. I am a musician, love to play classic rock and the blues on one of my several guitars, mostly vintage Gibsons. I write songs too. I have two wonderful grandkids aged 3 and 8, and they love me no matter my gender. Kids just know love, as it should be. OK, I admit it, I'm a bit of a shopaholic. Love new clothes, shoes and bags, oh and guitars of course. I have some support from loved ones and friends but have lost so many people due to bias and ignorance including a twin brother and son, but I have also gained so…
