What is Intersexuality? The term "intersexuality" comprises a large number of medical conditions that involve congenital abnormalities of the reproductive system. (1) People with an intersex condition are born with chromosomes, external genitalia, internal reproductive organs, and/or an endocrine system which do not match either male or female norms. Environmental factors, genetic factors and developmental factors all play a role in intersex conditions, but the causes and presentations of each condition vary widely. How common are intersex conditions? Estimates of intersex condition incidence range from 1 in 100 (2) to 2 in 10,000 (3) depending on the precise …

My hips spread during puberty (like I'm as wide as my mom) and I think I have a very feminine face. There are also other things I've noticed, like I've been told that my nipples are "really big for a guy" and I have no hair on my chest and my brother and father do. Is this enough information for me to know that I'm intersexed? Oh, and I'm a male to female transsexual, so there must be a connection between this and that, right? I feel like maybe I started to develop as a girl as a fetus and then something went horribly wrong and there was a switch of some kind. That might not make sense, but whatever. I do have what seems to be a fully functional penis, although I…

I've just been a little bit curious about this lately, and it's probably nothing, but reading things from google got me wondering. This is for any genetic male out there who still has male genetals. I've never seen another man's scrotum in a very definitive manner, and I've never seen the area behind the scrotum at all. But I've noticed that when I feel that area with my fingers, there's kind of a rigid area between the legs(behind the scrotum). I was wondering if all guys have this. I..erm...tried looking there in the mirror but I kind of put myself in dangerous positions trying to line the reflection up. I've read somewhere that the rigid line down the middle of the scr…

I've been a healthy male as far as I could tell for the last 21 years. However as of late, especailly do to commentary by one of my girlfriends i've kind of questioned if I was really born a normal baby boy. *warning, next part is a wee bit descriptive and blunt* As a treat to my girlfriend, I did the whole "porn start cut" on my penis and scrotum. While she loved it, she noted that I had a pretty wierd scar along my scrotum leading down pretty far toward my anus. She even noted it felt there were scar tissue from stiches. Now at the time it wasn't that much of a concern, since I was otherwise pre-occupied. However after the incident I began to examine what she…

Hi, I'm new on here. For all my life, I've been wanting to being a girl and denying and supressing it. I've only now admitted and decided to live with it. However, I think I may actually be intersexed. A lot of my body features and shapes are distinctly female. I also go through mood swings and emotional changes in ways that women do and guys don't. My bodyhair is light, on my arms and face (I can't grow a real beard, even if I don't shave for weeks, just some dark fuzz), although moderate on my legs. (although I suspect that's a genetic feature of being Italian-descended). So, is it possible that I've got something generating estrogen or something similar in me? Is…

I firmly believe a soul is a soul and no mattter what we are born as regardless of human and parental /surgiical procedure's etc determining the gender of a newborn infant's gender if there is a ambigious or not popular reason to the parents / surgeon to so to play alpha omega no one knows the consequences and mind set of that child till they are of a age of rekoning i would rather leave this decisive manner up to the young child at a ager that they can make their own decisu\ions or know who they are by preliminary observatiions till that child develops into their own soul because the soul is probably imbeddeded in the 2nd week / month of conception and e…

I have always known that I was androgynous, both male and female in my personality and identity. Though my outward social persona has been male from the beginning, it crossed my mind a few times wondering what it would be like to be fully female, but mostly I have considered this the best of both worlds to be both. It was the greatest gift when, in my twenties, I discovered that I have an almost hidden female part in addition to my male anatomy. It gave physical three-dimensionality to my inner experience and I feel much more whole or complete. I feel extraordinarily fortunate to be both male and female, and it has enhanced my relationships with my female partners. There'…

There is So many Variables on intersex life births and Reasons it happens . Humaity has this Trait inbred in all our chromosomes DNA Not all doctors will pick up on this Genotype and part of humanity sadly many times untill later in life as one asks why do I feel or ct this way etc !!!! Sexuality is very under estimated in Gender's Intersexuality traits happen to develop in gestation and begining of development some babies have decended testicles or undescended sexual organs ill call ovaries & (testes ) Yet some Females that are assigned female @ birth can have a ovary actually (teste ) descenbd and it happens s…

I was doing dishes this morning and thinking about various recent conversations and posts on the Internet when something hit me like a ton of bricks! I am in my mid-50s and grew up with a very strong female gender identity and (seemingly) pretty normal male genitalia. The only oddity was that, at puberty, I had both some male and some female development. Because my self identification was strongly female and I hated the “male parts”, I started self-medicating very early (about 14 years old) and tried to swamp any masculinization with estrogen. I lived a dual life for many years (female and androgynous). I had genital surgery at age 24 and took to my new life like a fis…

I ran across this site today. The revised Harry Benjamin Standards are saying that one is not transsexual but rather intersexed. I was wondering what others thought of this. To me, it makes perfect sense Billie Jo http://www.harrybenjaminsyndrome-info.org/soc.html

I have determined over the years I was born intersexed and am trying to get some answers...this gets personal. All of my seocndary sex chacteristics are female, and i never hit a male puberty and my voice never changed physically although I did start forcing it down after i grew breasts. I have no recollection of genitalia before i was 4, and my natural testosterone level was 347 before ever goin on hrt. before my grs....I had a scar that looked like fused labia. said scar heated up, got wet and could cause me to orgasm incessantly. when that scar was being...aroused, my quite well endowed male genitalia receded all the way up inside me to where the 7 inches of male, and …

A have read across the various websites full of research into the different types of intersex and one concept still confuses me. Ovotestis. Wikipedia seems not to have a page on them. My understanding is that they are basically a combination of an ovary and a testicle. But some thigns are left unmentioned by most places I've looked. What type of cells do they produce? -Sperm -Ovum -OvoSperm? Where are they found in the body? -Where Ovaries should be? -Where Testicles should be? -One of each? -Somewhere in between? How many are there? -Is it possible to have two ovotestes? When (If ever) do they generate cells? -Ovaries generate Ova before even bei…

Hermaphrodite - Sexuality the Documentary http://www.sexualitythedocumentary.com Dual sex is a state that seems so remote to most but, it is more common and comes in more forms than can be imagined. Brian Leonard's brevity in this clip is to be admired. He talks about his painful upbringing and the family confusion about his duality. There is frontal nudity in this segment as Brian shows us what he/she is all about. This documentary is for mature audiences and contains nudity.

Transgender support groups in the United States have been updated. These are listed at http://www.tgguide.com/information.htm Please help us keep this list as current as possible by letting us know if you're aware of others that are not listed or group listings that need to be corrected. Additions or corrections can be submitted by e-mail to webmaster@tgguide.com You may feel free to post support groups outside the United States on this message board. We will most likely use that information to add support groups from other countries when we reach that stage of site development. INTERSEX SUPPORT GROUPS ARE ESPECIALLY WELCOME!

This may sound a little strange, especially since I am not intersexed myself. I am writing a novel in which one of the characters is a 'true hermaphrodite'. All the research I have found suggests that it is impossible to have both sets of functional genitalia. But for narrative reasons the child does have both sets of functional genitalia. I was wondering under what conditions (Kareotype etc) could such an arrangement occur. No matter how unlikely or no matter how pointless the speculation would be. For the record the child is only a few months old so I will not be addressing any difficult/unpleasent issues such as bullying/sex/upbringing/surgery. I do not want to…

I've been on T blockers for a bit now, and one of my testes hurts a LOT, and the other doesn't hurt at all. Is this just the right one being a PITA, or is it an indication of something else?

Good afternoon all. I am new to this forum and wanted to chime in on some items that I think should be explored in the DSD, intersex, hermaphrodite arenas. I know that this thread is a bit long and I hope that people find it helpful. Even being my first post here, I would hope that it opens up a discussion and doesn't violate any protocols on the forum. I would love to explore my own personal journey, but I wanted to answer an older thread without reviving a zombie thread. If I overstepped any bounds please accept apologies ahead of time. This subject is of great interest to me and I wanted to answer with some gus…
