  1. Hi Christie, It's so refreshing to know that it's not just the UK that presents problems and procedures such as you've decribed. In my case when it was all completed I felt a real sense of relief and satisfaction that it was all over........................until the past couple of days when domestic energy companies starting writing to me in my former identity..........is this never ending? LoL Cheers, Eve
  2. Hello Christie, If your state is like mine the rule for DMV is to have not simply have a therapist letter but that the therapist is WPATH certified for the gender designator to change.
  3. My expenses has been shoes :-)
  4. I enjoy the verb "transgendering" :-) That's ridiculous that he'd diagnose you as an alcoholic based on that information! i used to be a much heavier drinker (prior life circumstances drove it), and yet I was never an alcoholic (alcohol abuser yes). Having said that, I think you're right that at least there isn't any harm in abstaining for a bit, especially with the possibility of things getting hung up because of it!
  5. Dear Eve, Please get a second opinion, as this is a very serious accusation. Would as the doctor WHY he thinks so. If after careful thought, you disagree with the doctor, then I would dump the doctor, as your sessions would generate resentment from you and you would not benefit. Your friend, Monica

I felt like a Karen so I selected Karen for that reason. My last name came from my students calling me the "Giver of Pain" (defensive tactics instructor) and from that came Payne.

My name decision was fairly easy, I just moved my middle name up to the first spot (christie was my mother's maiden name, that's how I got it originally). I'm not sure what I would have picked if I didn't have that - there is an easy "feminization" of my birth name, buy I didn't like it much. I have a favorite musician who's name I could have used (I did take her middle name), but it was my sister's name already

Yes, but that's officialdom for you, saying that officialdom allows you the freedom so that you can do things, but at the same time letting you know that it won't help you, because it's not accepted by officialdom, sound's a bit like Sir Humphrey Appelby in Yes Minister doesn't it? UK Deed Poll Service documents were fine and readily accepted by Passport Office and DVLA, don't forget to get your vehicle ownership details changed as well as your licence...........have fun and enjoy!
