~ GENDER IDENTITY DISORDER ~ Gender Identity Disorder is a recognized medical condition by the American Medical Association and the American Psychiatric Association. It is considered a birth defect, which occurs about five weeks after conception. The brain does not match the physical sex of the body. This is also known as Transsexualism. There are males with female brains and females with male brains. The true incidence is unknown but is estimated to be one in one hundred thousand births. The reason for it is unknown but it is thought to be a biochemical mistake in the formation of the brain. The result is that the individual has the ps…

Over the years, because I (if no one else) knew that i was a boy, many words, and some phrases became distasteful to me. Some I even came to hate and will when possible avoid using them. Others cause me to inwardly cringe when I hear them. Here's a sampling: *Tomboy (when directed at me) *My own birth name (when I have to say it) *Ms, Miss, Mrs and Ma'am (when directed at me) *the "politically correct" words like "chairWOMAN," "mailLADY" *"Act like a LADY!!" (when directed at me) *any words for certain parts of the female anatomy (causes embarrassment more than anything) *"That's a BOYS shirt!!" (uttered by the speaker - female, naturally - with great di…

TG names are very personal choices that we (TG's) make to identify our selves to each other and often to the world at large. Many of the name choices have poignant, or happenstance or humorous beginnings. It would be fun to hear how you chose your name or how it was bestowed upon you. My "Manly Man" name is Leo (which I intensely dislike), my en'femme) name is Loe' (Lowee) Muir. Loe was a serendipitous accident. Our beloved telephone service provider transposed letters in my first name in the local telephone directory. Soon I began receiving bulk mail addressed to Loe'. I found the name to be fun and it fits well. I am a Californian and a long distance backp…

I've been wondering this for a while but what's your opinion tranny chasers. I know a lot of people don't like them, but personally I don't really see anything wrong with them as long as they are secure about their attraction. I wouldn't want them to be ashamed of being with me. I mean to me it's a sexual preference just like being gay, bi or straight.

In one post awhile back(before it went away because of some mean hacker people) there was a topic on these boards regarding Laser Hair Removal. I am in the process of having hair removed permanently with the use of laser treatment. So here is what I am learning. OMG the face has lots and lots of nerve endings! Moreso than I thought it had. When I went in initially to set up my treatment schedule I asked to experience what it felt like to have it done. So they showed me on my arm. It felt like a cool mist accompanied by a slight puff of air and the sound of someone flicking their index finger on the palm of their hand. It really didn't hurt, in fact it just sort…

As I watched TransGeneration I was interested in the contrast between Gabbie's openness about being transgendered and Raci's hesitation to acknowledge being transgendered. I believe every person has to find their own comfort level and use what works best for them. As for me; When I went full-time I chose to make a clean break from my former self. I quit my job (making a great income) and did a complete transition. When I reappeared about 2 months later I was passing pretty much flawlessly. I took a job making a fraction of my former salary, but I was living on my terms. I completed HRT and SRS while working 2 jobs. Fortunately, I was able to regain the lost income and…

I was wondering how many others feel that their earliest years had a lot to do with being TG? I was the second child born in our family, and the second son. I know that my parents were hoping for a little girl. Well, I was pretty close: Had the Gerber baby platinum blonde hair look and all, and I think they may have treated me differently (gentler) than my older brother. I was definitely pampered those first few years and my Dad's nickname for me was Babs. When I was four, my sister was born and all that spoiling I got abruptly stopped. However, I never felt that I was anything other than the first-born daughter. Until I was renamed "Annie" by my many friends in cha…

For most of my life as a transgendered person I have definitely preferred wearing dresses or blouses with skirts. I wanted to dress as feminine as possible and I usually felt more sensual, as well as more sexy, when wearing a dress or short skirt than when wearing feminine pants. This may have also been partly a reaction against perceiving, as a male, I was supposed to wear pants, not dresses, blouses and skirts. In the last couple years, as my transsexual desires and consciousness have become more intense than ever before, I find I can feel almost as feminine wearing a blouse or feminine sweater with feminine pants as when wearing a dress or blouse with skirt. …

Hi, I'm new around here. Couldn't get the registration to work today so I've decided to work with a guest name for now. What I've seen around the TG community is that the majority are male to female, with intent to date other men (single, gay, TG, or whatever)... but I was wondering, is there anyone like me that feels like they're a woman on the inside (definitely not on the outside) that is only interested in straight or lesbian women? I haven't seen or heard of many people like that, and if so... it makes me wonder if there are any women that would take someone like me. Just curious and a little muddled. :P

I have this complex about my height. Only because my parents see it as a way to discourage me from being the male I am inside. Everytime I talk to my mother, she comes up with you're too short to be a male, or what girl is gonna want a short guy like you. I find it rude and embarrassing. Anyone else have this problem? How do you deal with it?

I'm just curious and think it's interesting...More commonly, transsexual women are "straight," which means that they are attracted to men. I've read that it's the majority. So if it's the majority, then why are 95% of the transsexual women that post HERE attracted to other women? I just think it's an interesting topic that could be discussed. What do you all think is the reason behind this?

how do you know you are trans? is it like... something you knew since you were five? or did it - smack - just hit you one day? or more like a slow realization?

We all know what gender we are, whether or not it fits into our particular bodies is a different matter..its a bit of a head game isnt it.But our sexual tastes can differ accordingly too.Which one of the following categories would you say you fit into best(the list is abbreviated before a median search can be defined). (a)totally heterosexual (b)hetero..but interested in bi sex ©hetero..definately bi (d)unconfirmed sexuality..probably bi (e)unconfirmed sexuality..probably gay (f)gay..but not out (g)gay..and out (h)trans..but not out (i)trans..and out I will publish the results here on this board after I have received your input. if you could turn back the clock say ten years or so but, you can't change who you are just what you do what, if anything would you do different? me, i'd admit to myself who i am. i guess my biggest mistakes have all evolved from trying to not to be me. trying so hard to be a guy then has really made it so much harder now for me to be me. not just on the outside but inside. not to mention just day to day things like career choices that could have made things a lot easyier. i'm currently in a very male dominated industry that's frankly not accepting to me or others like me. soon i'll have to get into something else in order to fully "come out" and that's hard for "norm…

 I hate it. Summer is coming, and i want to wear some more skirts this year. Casual skirts. Do you ever wear skirts without hose? Like maybe use a self tanner, and not wear the pantyhose? Does that look trashy? Should it only be done with sandals? Opinions please. -Kim

Well, I'm new here, I'm neither MtF or FtM. Just a regular guy. I have no purpose here, but if nothing else, I'd love to learn, get to know and even be support for people here if that is possible. Even though I know nothing, I'm open to learn new things. I hope I am welcome here even though... And ignore the Username, I've used it for awhile now. It means nothing...

I live in northwest Pennsylvania, about 2 hours drive from Pittsburgh. Basically it’s not the best place for a transgendered person. There is, first of all no access to transgender friendly doctors or therapists nearby. It’s a completely conservative Christian dominant region. Put it this way, Democrat is a curse word around here. Plus there’s nothing for anyone to do except bowling or the “redneck bar & grill”. I will soon have the ability to relocate. In my profession, I can work near or within commuting distance to any major city. Where’s the best place to go? I love New York City but, hate the cold. San Francisco would be great but too expensive for me. Anyone g…

I was wondering if maybe anyone had some tips in this area. I can't afford electrolysis just yet, going to start that as soon as I can, but in the meantime I'm trying to find a way to hide it. I have very dark hair, brown but so dark it's almost black, with facial hair to match. It grows fast, unfortunately (hoping when I go on hormones in a few months it'll help alleviate that), but the main problem is that even when when I shave thoroughly and my skin feels smooth, there's still that shadow on my face that gives away that facial hair was once there. I've looked around for methods of hiding it, and all I've seen so far is one article that suggested pancake makeup...w…
