I everyone. I really hate to put this up as a post but I am so flabbergasted that I had to tell someone. I'm at work tonight in my uniform and as usual I am in my guy mode. I'm talking to this man who is slightly intoxicated. He says to me, "you are a beautiful lady" , the guy floored me. I did not know what to say, If my partner would have been there I probably would have had to correct him because although my brain is female I'm not supposed to be. Since no one else was around I just blushed like all get out and pretended that I didn't hear what he said, but he repeated it and said that he was serious and that he really thought that I was beautiful. I don't think the …

Hello Friends, My wife Ann of 3 years is a MTF Pre-Op TS, we dated for 3 years prior to that. Ann has lived as a girl then as a woman since she was 13 she is now 24. I have been with Ann thru all of her surgeries and has just gone thru vocal feminization surgery. It has been 3 weeks already and it has been very rough on her and, I hate to say it, myself. I hate to sound hard headed or selfish but I loved her slghtly gruffy voice from before. I know she wants to be complete and I do support her... It's just wierd and I am sad... To know somebody as your only love then bam! She's like a different person, a stranger to me. I know it's going to get better but 2 weeks…

Hi all. Had an incident happen at work that at first ticked me off, but then made me very thankful that I work at a place that values the work I do. Had a co-worker start calling me 'it,' to a few people. A couple people that heard it, went to my boss and told him. Well, this co-worker got written up and was told, one more time, and he gets his walking papers. All I can say is...'yep', my hard work and honesty is starting to pay dividends! Hope everyone is staying cool!

In early January I was invited to present a speech at a local medical center to about 25 resident and non-resident MDs. I worked so hard to make it a good one. I read a great book about TED Talks, spent several hours creating a draft, and presented it to a couple of girlfriends who provided helpful feedback that resulted in a complete do-over. More hours. But it paid off. I had a wonderful time speaking to them and after, answering their questions. They gave me a standing ovation! Wow, how cool is that. Here's the script: I’m 63 years old, assigned male at birth, retired, and started my gender transition in mid-2017. I’ve been married twic…

I know I saw one message on the forum about this when I searched, but I wondered if anyone ever thought they were going through MPD when sorting out gender identity issues? From very early days in my childhood I think I compartmentalized the "girl stuff" in my head and started thinking of her as a ghost personality in my head. Not of the strength that the media-sensationalized MPD people, where there's a total switch-over, memory loss, etc. Just kind of like an imaginary friend who happened to have many of the same wants, needs, and interests as me. An imaginary friend who liked the girl clothes I had and wanted to just wear them, but the guy body had other ideas... …

Hello to everyone : First of all let me thank Bobbie Jo for showing this group to me . A little about myself *** I am a 62 yr young woman living in the shell of a male . I have been hiding this since I was about 9 yrs old . Wearing dresses and other Girls clothes at a young age and enjoy every moment I could be alone at home . I could never take on the macho image that people expect for someone my size 6ft 4in . Usually keeping to myself or chatting with the young girls in the Neighborhood . Always noting their hair and makeup fingernail polish . I kept all this inside me always asking myself why I was a boy. Years went by I got married a…

I am sorry in Advance is this is rambled and long winded, and I thank those who took the time to read it and respond. The truth of the matter is I am lost. I am a 26 year old male who is outta shape to begin with, I have zero confidence in myself these days which I believe to be in relation to certain events of my high school days. When I was young probably around 12 years old my Dad told the family he was a CrossDresser so my exposure to this world happened fairly early in life, my Family all accepted him for it and that was pretty much it. But at the start of grade 10 we moved Cities and I had to leave my life behind and go to a new school, and I am a shy o…

I know I find the term Genital Reconstuction Surgery the best one, because to me it is the most accurate. That's what the operation does, it reconstructs your genitals. I don't like the term "sex change operation" because I feel it's almost the transphobic title that it's been given and we're not changing our sex, we have always been girls, now we're just matching our body to our mind. Sex reassignment surgery I don't really have a problem with.

This is something I have been obsessing over for a while now. For as long as I can remember I have wished that I was female so it does seem to make sense that I am transgendered and I have reached a point at which I like being the way I am, however while I am very feminine in most ways I'm also not so feminine in some ways to give a few examples I love violent video games and martial arts movies in both cases I especially love when its a women kicking every ones asses but I don't have any real problem with watching or playing as a male. Another example is how young males seem to like carrying really bad ass looking pocket knives. I often think that this is a crude and unr…

Hi there, Let's face it, we could all lose a few extra kilograms here and there... Everybody included, whether or not you be a man, woman, child, beast, etc, etc. Here's what i'm going to do.... I would like everybody who would like to join in here, put your name down, your current wieght, (no cheating you're only cheating yourself) and your realistic goal weight. I feel really strong about this and determined that i said to my wife that i would grow a beard until the goal wieght was acheived. However, that's not happening straight away... However i wouldn't rule it out. So as of the 7th of December 2007, I currently weigh 92kgs. My goal weight would be…

Yesterday I went to my GP to get a referral to the Gender Identity Clinic. I felt, to illustrate the matter, it best to go dressed appropriately. My doctor's is beside my place of work, so I dropped off my cycle pannier and trainers at my locker beside the office and headed over, dressed in a nice skirt, top and cardigan combo. I didn't bother with make-up or a wig, because I didn't feel like it. I wore my man boots, because my new girl boots haven't arrived yet. I like to mix it up a bit! In work I am not allowed to wear women's clothes until I have notified Human Resources and senior management at least one month in advance, to allow them to properly manage the "pro…

Why Most Transitioned People Don't Carry The Transgender Torch Where is it written that someone who has transitioned MUST help the (transgender) community?” asks reader Karyn Maynard in response to someone else on the comments board of a GLAAD post about Dawn Ennis. Karyn makes a good point, and the fact of the matter is, most people who transition move on from trans issues. They don’t actually see themselves as transgender people, even if they embraced the cause of “transgenderism” at some point in their journey. But they don’t live between the gender binary as so many transgender people happily do: the transitioned MtF person IS a female, and the FtM person IS a m…

I haven't been as active in posting as I have in the past. Over the past few weeks I have felt in somewhat of a limbo state. I really don't know what to do or where to turn. I guess the best thing to do is wait and see what happens. I sense that there may be a major change in my life as yet I haven't figured out what it is. I went through this a few years back and here was a major shift in my life. This may be another one of those times.

http://www.harrybenjaminsyndrome-info.org/soc.html. There's a storm front coming in and that is a new definition to HBS, it is HBI. All of us have struggled throughout our lives to understand who we are, now we have a glimmer of hope. We are all "intersexuals." As we know this a "medical" term not "physcological." With this change to medical we now have a chance to get get the medical treatment we all need, including meds and surgeries. This is going to take time and patience. Many of us have had SRS and/or on HRT. Many have had to do it the hard way facing many obstacles and barriers, from medical indifference to social ostracism and even violence. This going to be an u…

This is a complex topic to try to introduce in a succinct manner, so bear with me here. And yeah I have a point to get to below I'm pretty extremely dissociated at the moment, which means I feel like I have an inner "me" that's looking out through the eyes of my body-bot, so to speak. I think I've got a pretty weird view of the world from inside here. Most people are probably a little bit dissociated on a regular basis, but I've been a pretty extreme case from everything I can gather. I know another friend who's a lot like me on a lot of things (we're (including him) still not sure if he's a gay guy or a transwoman in denial really) including this one. We were discuss…

Dr. Sandra Samons has a listing on the American Association of Sexuality Education Counselors and Therapists (AASECT) here. and a website here. I was wondering if anyone had any experience with her or had ever heard of her before. I've sent her an email asking about some things I'd like to know before making an appointment but it'd be nice to have an opinion not slightly biased by my impatience before I make any definite plans.

Trans sexualization; Trans medicalization LGBT Weekly "Christine Jorgensen preferred the term transgender: they perceived transgender as taking the “sex” out of “transsexual” – an effort to desexualize the sexualized perception of transsexual people. Sexualized perceptions of trans women are persistent. Back in 2009, theWashington, D.C. Examiner reported:..." This is a very interesting article about transgender terminology. I know there has been some debate about terminology in our own forums. Using terms to define our population is a slippery slope to be sure. I personally don't mind -- in fact I prefer, the term transgender, if we must use terms at all. Our other…

I am a 32 year old cissexual female and have been with my trans (mtf) partner for several years. When I met her she had been on estrogen (patches) for nearly 4 years and was living as a woman full-time. After deciding we wanted to try and start a biological family together, she made the difficult decision to come off hormones in an attempt to regain her fertility. Appallingly, she hadn’t been offered any proper or feasible support with regards to banking sperm and the discussion was briskly over-looked by doctors, so coming off hormones was the only option. We are now doting, proud parents to a beautiful, healthy girl. Our daughter took a year and a half to conceive a…
