I've never seen this question before and thought I'd ask. I had a vasectomy many, many years ago and I intend to have an orchi prior to SRS. By having a vasectomy first woud the orchi be less time under the knife? Would this alleviate the need for an anti-androgen? If we havwe prostrate problems; will this shrink the prostrate? With this procedure can we reduce the amount of estrogen and still get the same effect? I know many girls have the whole shooting match done at once; but as I never intend to have intercourse the depth of my vagina is of little consequence. I am seeing my endro today for the second time and will ask him also; but I …

  2. The National Gay and Lesbian Task Force has released its fourth and final report analyzing the intersection of race and gender identity among transgender and gender non-conforming people who completed the National Transgender Discrimination Survey. As has been evident with other racial groups, transgender American Indians and Alaskan Native respondents experienced unique levels of discrimination because of their overlapping identities: Read Article

  3. Many opponents label the passage of bills for transgender rights as a 'bathroom bill'. They stoke fear into uninformed people that allowing transgender people to use public accommodations will endanger the children and women. Well, these people shouldn't talk. How come the military is sweeping over 20,000 rape cases under the rug? How come lawmakers have a hard time protecting women from discrimination, abuse, and exploitation? Recently, a transgender woman was denied the use of a dressing room because the owner felt the customers would be uncomfortable. I saw through that ruse! SHE was the one who was uncomfortable. I'm not about changing people's perceptions be…

In one post awhile back(before it went away because of some mean hacker people) there was a topic on these boards regarding Laser Hair Removal. I am in the process of having hair removed permanently with the use of laser treatment. So here is what I am learning. OMG the face has lots and lots of nerve endings! Moreso than I thought it had. When I went in initially to set up my treatment schedule I asked to experience what it felt like to have it done. So they showed me on my arm. It felt like a cool mist accompanied by a slight puff of air and the sound of someone flicking their index finger on the palm of their hand. It really didn't hurt, in fact it just sort…

Question, I have recently started hormones, which has been great. I haven't been able to start anything for facial hair removal yet, so I wanted to know if anyone has any advice for facial hair removal aside from shaving?

Tonight , I watched as most of us did on the long anticipated airing of the Bruce Jenner story. I really thought a lot of Bruce's openness and honesty. I saw a lot of my very own childhood as I too had religious parents and two siblings . My younger brother has only "Touched " the surface in even wanting to deal with his new found sister . I went straight to FB following the local news . The FANGS were already out as Bruce confessed he wasn't a Liberal! Goodness, GASP , he wants to talk to Mitch McConnel and other Republicans who "WE REALLY ARE"! Great! I'm for it . The current crop of Republicans thinks we're Child molesters and Mental cases . Because I have sever…

Yesterday , history was made in Richmond Virginia my my son and I at the Valentine Museum , er History Center . Our WONDERFUL photographer , Mr. Michael Simon was on hand to record this memorable event digitally . Also on hand Megan and Dominick , both Valentine curators . as witnesses . I love sharing history as I was born in Richmond and giving insight as to the burgeoning Transgender movement that I saw gain momentum when ms Christine Jorgensen spoke that warm May night at the old VCU Franklin st gym . I was a news reporter/ announcer at W J R B , the VCU radio station then . Yes, I moved away to California , then Texas , only to return again . Here , I saw the birth …

I have been reading and not posting very much and the impression I have gotten is that a lot of you feel like you are in your own hell because you can't be open and out about what you do. What I want to know is have any of you REALLY taken the time to stop and think about not only the hell you are in but, if you are in a relationship, the hell your partner might be going through. My own real life experience says NO! My partner thinks only of personal needs, not mine, not our daughter's, only of self. I realize there have been the years of hiding this side, the side that NEEDS to dress, but that softer side has always been there. I have said the clothes don't change…

This might be a touchy topic for some of us who dont yet have kids but thought about it. I never really thought about it til recently. First with my brother and his fiance having a baby. Then I went over my aunts husbands sisters place. There was this little girl. Her mother didnt want her, and being this little girl is beautiful, I couldnt understand why she would just drop her off and leave her. I started holding and playing with the little girl. As the time passed, and I had visited her abit more. I offered to help watch her while this lady was at work. I found myself getting emotionally attached to this little girl. Now when I go watch her, it hurts everytime …

I have been dressing up quite a bit the past couple of weeks. I desire to dress up more now. My spouse has noticed and she is somewhat bothered by it. She wrote a poem about my desire to be a woman rather than a man. I understand how she feels. She fears that she is losing the male person that she married. I tell her that I’m the same person. I’m not really surprised by her response because I thought that this day would come. Things were quiet for a while. I sense that another shift is coming. I guess the holiday season may have triggered it because there have been more opportunities to dress. Just the other day I saw a transgender woman as I was crossing the stree…

I am 58 and I've been taking herbal estrogen and perscription estrogen for about 11 months now and I am so very pleased with my tender, sensitive, and growing breasts. I feel like they are something that should have been there a long time ago. I am now at that stage where I have to be careful about which shirt I wear because the nipples are always showing on my nice summer shirts. I should stop now and be happy with them as they are, but I seem to be driven by something I have no control over. The thought of being more womanly is like a drug. I could stop eating before I stop becoming what I need to become. Nobody knows and there is nobody I can talk to, but at this…

I'm currently in the process of getting my name changed. I was wondering if changing my last name as well would be a good idea too. The reason I'm wondering about it is because I'm considering the opinion of going stealth and naturally I don't want people finding out information about my male pass that could be damaging to me. I just wondering what would be recommended to do in a case like this.

Hey everyone , YES EVERYBODY! That includes the crossdressers and admirers too. I'm on a "Planning Comittee " to do yet another Trans Day of Rememberance evening here , ( Richmond Virginia ) at the local Unitarian Church. I'm looking for ANY meaningful idea that's worked for you in T D O R in you're areas. If you were able to plan an event , what would you want to see?

To the mods: I posted this in another forum, but I think it may be helpful to some so maybe it will get more traffic here. Want to stop? I'm sure you have all been there. What is this crossdressing thing really about? Perhaps I can shine a little light on the subject and share some of the insights I recently stumbled upon. What it comes down to is: What do you really want? You have to be willing to be honest with yourself. Be willing to look beneath the surface and really want to see what is there. There is a reason why you crossdress. You believe it will make you happier or bring you closer to peace. That's the bottom line. That's what everybody on earth…

  18. One of my hobbies is geofiction, the art of constructing imaginary countries. I followed the example of the many imaginary countries out there on the Web (such as Virtual Verduria, Itlani, and Kaupelan) and made my own imaginary country. It's of interest to people here because in my imaginary country, a transgendered person can be accepted as their gender of choice simply by presentation, i.e. without physically transitioning. Here it is: Kingdom of Daruny So, what do you all think?

Hi, I'm misty. I'm 44 years old and started hormones three months ago, low dose for the first two months, than ramped them up to an average dose for a month now. After about ten days on "low dose" my skin got soft and I started to smell sweet. After three weeks my legs got a little bigger, not much but look more girly like. I expected when I went on the "high dose" changes would happen, maybe I'm just impashent, haven't seen or felt any change, only a tiny bit more fat on my butt and legs. My breasts haven't grown any, haven't felt any tingling in them yet. How long did it take for you girls to start seeing breast growth?Did your breasts tingle? How long did it take for th…

  20. Well, after two weeks of pure hell, my mother finally kicked me out of the house. I am still in shock over it and very numb and I think that's my body's defenses kicking in so I don't have a mental breakdown. But, now I can honestly so without a doubt I have experienced the worse form of rejection from my family since coming out, short of murder. I have applied to a graduate school and Im hoping i can get in for their summer classes. This is all craziness

I'm talking about your kid. Your kid might be gay. You may want to protest: "My son doesn't like show tunes. He likes football and Legos." "My daughter doesn't play softball. She loves princess dresses and pink." "My son has a girlfriend." "My daughter has a boyfriend." "My child is too young to think about those things."” - Amelia Open Letter to Parents: Your Kid Might Be Gay I thought this to be a wonderfull letter to share here as it can just as easily be applied to transgende…

I realized when I was about 4 or 5 that I'm not a girl on the inside. I'm a boy trapped inside this body, like an animal. I'm not supposed to be a girl. I'm supposed to be a boy. Aside from that, once I found out there were others like me, I started to come out. But coming out to some people is easier than coming out to others, like my family. My aunt, who hates gays and lesbians and etc., said that gays are possessed by evil demons. There's something wrong with her. I'm certainly not possessed by an evil demon. My mom, just thinks it's a teenager thing and I'm too young to think that I know stuff like this. But she's secretly confused and it's pretty obvious. She wo…

I recently had a topic up and the mere thought of or view of the title staid discussion with the greater majority that viewed it, I understand that it is uncomfortable for most to speak openly no matter what the topic, that being said I knew what, where, and the general out come of the topic, it was apparent that it truelly had little to do with the subject, but more to the mere combination of words that struck a cord and either confirmed with the reader or they felt personal attack. With this in hand I thought long and hard about the thread, do I leave it up or do I take it down, the later was the case, I did so not because of any one thing but I felt the discussion was …
