Something just happened that I just had to post and tell everyone. My folks had gone to the store and when they got back my dad noticed he lost a ring I had given him years ago.I suggested calling the store just in case someone turned it in. My mom who really is an optimist and feels I'm a pessimist was the pessimist this time. She didn't think if someone found it that they would turn it in.I told her you never know.My dad tried to call but the phone was busy so he drove all the way back there. He went to the counter and enquired about it not really expecting anything but the lady behind the counter said that a lady had just turned a ring in knowing someone would be looki…

I was at a transgender conference this weekend, and someone mentioned a sort of "puberty-blocker" that people are starting to use. Basically, if a child is diagnosed as TS at an early age, you can get some kind of implant that blocks puberty. Later when they grow up, they can decide whether to take it out and go through puberty, or start a different set of hormones. Has anyone else ever heard of this? -Lysander

Each year at this time, I set goal which I work to accomplish. It can be be anything from a reading goal to a writing goal to a personal goal. I have noticed to each year something about gender comes into play. Gender goals are harder to set because sometimes I may not be clear on what direction the goal will lead. Like life, gender is not stationary. I have considered some things off and on. Name change and transition are two things that come to mind. I believe most of you know my position about transitioning. Regarding the former, this possibility has gotten stronger. Really can't why except that throughout 2013 people viewed me as a woman. I'm no prophet but I ca…

Hi folks! I just discovered that TriCare, the non-VA medical insurance for active duty and retired folks, now covers SRS with a twist- they need documentation (read: Psychiatrist and therapist) that the individual has suffered from dysphoria since birth. This is a major, major shift for the military community! Hoorah and cheers.

From a spiritual perspective, as a trans sexual woman, I am intrigued by the shamanic tradition in indigenious people of two spirit individuals. In some tribes we are considered blessed with the connection to both genders. We are considered healers and the receipients of the tribes shamanic traditions for healing and spiritual quests. Does anyone else see the transsexual experience in this positive light? Does anyone have sources of information about this topic

I know this issue has been brought up here from time to time. In my 13 years of transitioning I have always dated transwomen. It always ends up the same way. My being told I am to masculine, and can we still be friends? The last transwomen I was in relationship with was long distance. I always called, sent her flowers and took the 500 mile ride to see her when I could. But it wasn't enough . I have looked at the trans dating sites out there and they really turn me off. Al this sexuality stuff. Is there any place to find real people?

Hello my name is Ariana (or at least I think I want it to be) I am AMAB 30 years old and think I am experiencing gender dysphoria. I struggle because I have a lot of repressed memories from my childhood. The first time I can remember experiencing wanting to be a girl physically was when is was 10 years old although I have glimpses of a memory of being younger and remember my conservative Christian grandmother saying something to me (I can’t remember what) that makes me feel sick to my stomach but it’s such a distorted memory it’s hard for me to tell if it ever happened. When I was 10 the Scooby Doo movie. There is a scene where Fred’s soul gets trapped in Daphne’s body. I…

A day does go by that I read of another transgender woman killed. Brazil has the most trans murders followed by Mexico then the United States. With the increased visibility and many ordinances for trans people becoming law, the vitriol and violence has been wratcheted up a few notches. The United States is one of the biggest exporters of anti-TGLB hate to places like Africa, Jamaica, and eastern Europe. Here is where we must be vigilant. Two projects of mine is to refute the lies that passing protections for transgender people will affect religious rights. The other is that I will demonstrate that transgender people were front and center at Stonewall and other movemen…

  10. Struggles within your Life, what in your life have you considered, what in your life have you not considered, So, here it is my dears, we at times are forced into situations that dictate a response, a struggle perhaps or simply a choice, maybe a choice that will affect another without us even realizing it at the time we turn down that road and continue on the journey through life, what out come was forced by your action, was there a good thing that came from it or was it a traumatic and life altering happening, I realize I am injecting a few questions into a large ball then to…

Ahh I'm confused lately. I'm like looking in the mirror and seeing that I'm more attractive and feminine slowly but surely, which is good, but the question is... How do you tell if you're becoming who you, on the inside, really are, or if you're just excited when you look in the mirror because you see a pretty girl? I guess this isn't a problem for straight girls, but still... I look downstairs like after a shower n see stuff that I don't think should be there but is that me seeing myself and I shouldn't have anything, or is it me seeing a girl who does have something and I don't think it should be there on her? It's pretty confusing. I mean Iunno I just feel deta…

I was at the community center last night waiting for a friend. A gentlemen who I have seen numerous times sat down and chatted with me. He complimented me on my attire. He seemed very fascinated with my hands. I have long, sleek fingers. It's not the first time someone has complimented me about them. We chatted for about ten minutes before he had to leave. Yesterday I received four emails from men desiring a relationship with me. This past Saturday, a couple of gents took notice of me while I was walking. It's really been interesting the past few days.

Hey everyone. So I don't know who else get's this feeling. I'm a part of a support chat room...thing and I get mixed reactions. Of course there's that one head strong woman who "Understands" but makes you feel like disappearing every time she's there. ANYWAY. Yesterday at work, I was feeling extremely inadequate next to the people I work with, why? Because their all cisgender. All I could think was that I wish that I was born like them. Personality wise, yeah i may be like every other 19 year old, but here's this one "Trait" of mine that isn't. Every time I'm in a classroom full of people or with friends I'm automatically clouded with absolute depression beca…

So the last time I was here I had been going through some stuff in my life and my journey to be whole was not going as well as I wanted it to. Needless to say, I have been trimming the fat from my life, starting with the one thing that has been abusing me mentally and verbally and that is my biological family. My mother, my sister and most of that family is not going to be apart of my plans. I have spent years trying so hard to hold it together and keep my family value of being or trying to be close knit. Yeah...didn't work how I wanted it to work. So now they won't be getting nothing from me. No cards, calls and not even a care from my heart. I will turn my heart off for…

In an effort to stave off getting "cabin fever" I try to find winter projects. Well, what to do? earlier this year I bought an antique sewing table (to use for a TV stand). I was wondering why the thing was so darned heavy. Well, opened it up and guess what? There's a Singer sewing machine from the 1940's. Wow !!! With all the attachments!!! I think I've found a good project. All I have to find is a power cord. I hope that wont be to difficult. Does anyone out there know how to sew? Any good tips? Pictures of stuff you've made? Humorous experiences? My ex girlfriend gave me a couple of her Victoria's Secret bras when she left. But, they're 34-B. To small S…

Hi, I decided to write and post this in the forums because I felt it was something I’d like to share. As most of you may know, I’ve been doing what I can as a Moderator and as a News Editor for our wonderful community here at TGGuide. I'll be away for a couple weeks and I’m sharing because this is another of such things we in the TG community must face ... It’s been an emotional couple days for me and my family ... well ever since my Grandma (Nan we call our Grandmothers where I’m from) had a stroke a week and a half ago ... she passed away yesterday. I’m flying out tomorrow for two weeks, to also help my Mom out with whatever she needs, cooking, cleaning all the da…

So I am a butch dyke and never have worn feminine clothing, looking in the mirror I look for square jaw, broad shoulders, muscle definition, I shave my head, I hide my tits, I do not like "girlie" things but I do like women, I have always felt this way. Despite not being femme I have never minded this body until now - for the last couple years it bleeds a lot and often and I am sick of it, fibroids - Hate the idea of a hysterectomy because I think most surgeons and hospitals are unsafe and a body needs its parts, But T - I would love to take T and look more masculine and stop bleeding (if it would do that.) Am over 50 but menopause is not visible on the horizon yet - is t…

It just occured to me a few minutes ago. After shaving my legs, I put some powdered base on to make them look nice too. Do I have to worry about the stuff getting on the furniture? If so, any suggestions to get that nice even smooth appearance without using base? What other unexpected surprises might the various kinds of make up have which newbies should be aware of?

I seriously need to get this out because its driving me nuts. My brother loves to nitpick about everything. He does it to everyone in the house. He also loves to threaten. He knows i need his car to get him and I both to work. Well he gets a bug up his rear and right away he starts crap with me. I could just be sitting there minding my own business, and he'll start shit. His latest thing is my license. No I dont have one but he claims i should have a long time ago. I said its alittle hard to do when you noone is willing to allow you the use of their car to do so. Hes like thats not an excuse, i gave you a car, all you had to do was fix it. I am presently reading Peggy Rudd's book My Husband Wears My Clothes. My spouse is reading it also. I have also been thoughful of my spouse's feelings about my dressing. The book reminds me that others are affected by what I do. Conversely, her attitude towards crossdressing and transgender affect the both of us. She is asking quesions again which I always welcome. I feel this time the questioning will go deeper than in previous times. She's still trying to wrap her mind around a male wearing women's clothing. What I like about Rudd's book is that it takes crossdressing from the spouse's perspective. My spous revealed to me that when she found out that I crossdress she…
