Hi, I'm still very new here and have read lots of other peoples questions, concerns and stories about the experiences they’ve had prior, during and after transition. I share similar stories and concerns and have asked many of the same questions. We trans-women and men share many of the same beginnings and realities, details vary and many have lost plenty. I don’t want to be too vague however if I start at the beginning of “my” story this topic would be more of a novel and I’d like to get to the point of which is bothering me at this point of my transition. I’ll start with a lil’ info on where I am as of now. I came out to my wife (then girlfriend) as a cross dresser y…

Jojo, I know that you and your wife have been going through turmoil this month. I see that you have cancelled your myspace page and I have not seen you here since before the holidays. I know things are really hard now, but are you ok? Please check in if you can, and know that whatever happens I am caring about you, and miss you here. Love -Kim

It pays a decent amount more than my last job. It will be nice to finally get things moving again. I haven't told them I'm a transsexual yet, and will tell them on friday when I start... Any ideas on a friendly way to disclose this to them?

  4. I'm not sure where in actually terminology I'd fall and I've searched everywhere but nobody has been able to relate, I just feel isolated and I don't know what to do. The only people I've seen feel similarly are trans women and amab nonbinary people and I don't want to seem like a jerk who's just talking over them. I'm afab, but my parents raised me as a boy and I guess now that I've been forced to stop identifying with masculinity I don't feel like anything, but I'm not sure how to go about leading a life when I'm so different from my trans man and nonbinary afab friends who feel afraid because I have "man behavior". I feel like I have to shut up and minimize mysel…

So I am in my basement goofing off on my skateboard and I get a call from my friend. I pick up and I gently say, "Hello". He responds and says, "Um yes may I speak to so and so". I told his it was me. He was surprised. I asked him if he recognized me. He said I sounded like a woman. lol. He thought it was my mom or something. Has anyone here ever had an experience like this before? And has anybody actually went in for voice training before? I thought that the whole experience was both rewarding and flattering. :)

So..... A lil over 2 weeks ago, I lost my job at the bank. With that goes my health insurance, a paycheck, and the peace of NOT having my father up my behind about getting a job. There are still some prospects in the professional realm Im feeling out, but, this is *actually* the first time I've tried getting a job completely as myself. If anyone saw my youtube, I tried this a lil over a week ago, bugged out, and totally chickened out from applying :-! Sooo....feeling the pressure of knowing that I probably will be waiting for a career job, I decided to hit up the local mall. I was expecting to be terrified, but lordy was I happy when I found I wasn't. Believe i…

Hello all, I've been depressed my whole life and just recently realized that this is because I've been confused about my gender this whole time. I really want to start taking hormones as soon as possible so that my body can begin its adjustment. The problem is that my doctor refused to prescribe them to me because of my psychiatric history. Is this illegal / prejudiced? Should I contact the ACLU? Please someone, I need advice! Erin

I am looking for insight. information, websites, chat rooms (any) that you know of in relationship to marriage, affairs, sex, dating, between a MtF transgender and a normal male. I mean any tidbits, paragraphs, insight, experiences, websites or chatrooms where I can find out what I can expect in the area of marriage, affairs, sex, dating, between a MtF transgender and a normal male. OR the probabilities of transgendered MtF ending up in a lesbian relationship. Cassandra

I am going to say less and listen more on this one I am posting. I am becoming more comfortable in public situations, especially with friends, but 3 times in the last month I have had car trouble, twice where I was towed off the road, and a few times needing to deal with auto repair shops. Each time I was not completely feminine as I did not have make-up and was dressed conservatively. I am starting to really fear those unknown times when I may find myself face to face with people that will probobly recognize me as a man and discriminate me in an unknown matter even to myself. Some situations you just cannot walk away from. Until I am more confident I really fear th…

Hi I am new here and I am from the New England area. I have felt like I was born in the wrong sex since I was 7. I have tried to surpress it and have been doing a pretty good job at that for 11 years until now. I cannot control it anymore, it controls my life. after 19 years in the Military I gave up my Pension at a faily young age. I am so disgused with my male body and because of the cost of SRS I cant afford it and I feel like I cant do HRT because I would have to give up my present job and fear I would have a rought time finding another. I dont have any friends because I pushed them away because I wasnt into doing what they wanted to do and because of the fear if the…

Although gays have made some progress in society in recent decades, in general TGs haven't done as well. The perception of MtFs in particular is one of us being buffoons. For years, on countless TV shows and in film, we have often been portrayed as laughable clowns. Yes, some recent movies offer a more balanced portrait. Let's hope the trend continues. I believe the only real way to educate people about who we are is by example. The world must see that we are not sex-craven pigs or circus freaks who CHOOSE to transition as some sort of lark. Transsexuality is not an eccentricity, malady or mental disease. TS is however all too often pain, confusion and per…

Some time ago there was a link posted here to a TG questionaire developed to identify where one falls in the male-female spectrum. As I recall there was a scale of +1500 (being 100% female) to -1500 (being 100% male). If anyone could provide me with that link it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you, Erica.

I think this is one of the toughest things for me at this point. I wish I knew of a local transgender friendly cosmetics person who could come and do my colors. I have gone into Target to see if I could get some makeup, but there is so much selection. Need concealer, foundation, powder, blush, eye shadow, eyelash lengthener, (Blanking out one what you call it), lipstick and such. I have a number of different nail polishes, but rarely put them on as I might have to take them off quickly. Mostly sticking to clear for right now. I have had the wife come home unexpectedly and we are not at that point where she has seen Emma. She only knows about me. I just feel I want to get …

Its a Sunday morning, as I got dress for church. I called my friend Aaron to ask him to ride over to pick me up. After a long wait, finally Aaron showed up, as I said hello while sitting down in the front seat. On our way to church, Aaron address to my attention that he had something important that he wanted to talk to me about? He explained that he would had invited me over to one of his friend's place, but due to the reason that he had his grand children along with him, and he explained that he doesn't want me around to confuse his grand daughter, because of how the way I dress and wear my nail polish. since I'm MTF. I told my friends about what between me and Aaron, an…

I have been reading and not posting very much and the impression I have gotten is that a lot of you feel like you are in your own hell because you can't be open and out about what you do. What I want to know is have any of you REALLY taken the time to stop and think about not only the hell you are in but, if you are in a relationship, the hell your partner might be going through. My own real life experience says NO! My partner thinks only of personal needs, not mine, not our daughter's, only of self. I realize there have been the years of hiding this side, the side that NEEDS to dress, but that softer side has always been there. I have said the clothes don't change…

  16. Ok how do you know if you are a CD or TG. I have felt wrong my whole life. I grew up where you could not be girly or act soft. My family would not understand back then. My dad caught me with panties and bras from a house we where house sitting for and I made up some story. I have known for a long time that I like being in the other genders cloths . I like heels , dresses, night stuff. It's not all about sex. I am married with 3 boys. I'm 36 years old and have been hiding this for a long time. My loving wife knows and is doing her best with it. She loves the man I am but does not know if she can think the same way about the other me ,the real me. The real me? I have starte…

  17. I have the sexual orientation of a typical guy, the body of a typical guy, and am pretty much content with (or at least not opposed to) having the body of a guy. I have also never experienced any gender dysphoria before. However, I'm currently questioning whether I have the "mind" of a girl. I want to know: is it possible for me to have the "mind" of a girl despite this? Is that a thing? Every time I try to find the answer to this I always get things that don't say anything about this type of transgender, and instead basically assume everyone whose transgender is also looking to change their bodies in some way. There is never any mention of someone who is transgender who …

  18. This is my first comment on this site. I hope it may be of interest. I live in a Latin American country so dressing fully feminine is hard to portray most of the time. Still I can wear nail polish on my toes and fingers most of the time. You just have to pick your colors carefully and call it rock and roll. On the street being addressed many times as him or her.I enjoy all of the roles. With the help of a marvelous partner I am able to be comfortable in my own skin. Whether it be perfumed, or sweaty from working the farm. Many Trans Gender persons feel to be validated they must go all the way through full reassignment rather than finding their own comfort zone. Hiding t…

So basically, my friend (pre-everything) got outed as wanting to be a girl, but she still has 1¾ years of highschool left. She says the counselors are supportive, but the teachers let the kids bully and harass her to no end. She also says that her family is not likely to be supportive and they regard her siituation as "just a phase." Now, the problem here is I wanna help but I don't know how since I live in Georgia and she lives in Wisconsin. All I can really do is talk to her and try to comfort her over the internet... >_> Any ideas?

This may be an obvious question, but in case of being caught in public restrooms while dressed up as a girl, is it only a psychiatrist / therapist that can provide a 'safety letter' to avoid trouble with police/ storeowners thinking someone is a perv, or can general practitioners do that as well? I have contacted and been told by a gender therapist that they were unsure what I was referring to when asking about such a letter... whereas I was previously in an area where it was recommended by TG support groups to have a document specifically stating "so and so is undergoing transition" which was apparently acceptable but only if written by that persons psych. (It's also po…

I was just curious as to what some thought about the idea of never revealing your gender history, to anyone, once transition is completed. Of course this is only possible if one has actual surgery. If no one knew your history genderwise, like all your family disappeared or something, would you still reveal?

It seems just when I feel comfortable that a FtM is who I am, I get extreme feelings of doubt. It's usually after I see women together, that I feel like I want to belong there, but I just don't. I like the lesbian community. I think the love between two women is beautiful. I feel I want to be a girl that loves a girl, not a boy that loves a girl. But I don't really fit in with the gay females. Especially the man-hating ones. Then other times, I'll feel happy with whatever I am and I'll want people to see me as a boy. The more I see or talk to FtM's, the more happier I get. And I feel a sense of belonging, but at the same time, I feel a bit distant from them, like that…

I've been drinking and this may sound weird.. but I have to say it. Is anybody lonely in the transtion? I am. How do we talk, besides this forum. How do we talk to the people we know. This seems to be such a lonely journey. Do we really have to go thru this alone? I know there are support groups....but in northern wisconsin! Besides my shrink I don't have anyone to. Maybe this is just the time of the month; but I am really feeling down. Does anyone else feel the same way?
