As I've not been around the board for more than a couple days, I don't know how appropriate this seems but I suppose the main reason for reaching out is that I'm kind of looking for a "big brother" of sorts, someone who's started transitioning and who can potentially take me under their hypothetical wing. I've only come out to myself this last week or so, as well as to my girlfriend and one other person, but that's it. I feel a little stranded and I feel like I need someone who knows what I'm going through and dealing with, among other things. So yeah .. any guys willing to take a little fellow like me under their wing?

Hi, I have two questions I'd like to ask knowledgeable FtMs... Background - I have really bad acne so I'm taking both Tetralysal and Dianette capsules daily to control it (I am also taking the Dianette to make 'the dreaded event' once a month a little less painful). For these reasons (and a few others) I am reluctant to begin transitioning by dropping these to increase my testosterone levels. I would like to know: 1) Is it possible to transition without testosterone? I don't especially want the excess hair and grease and I could learn to lower my voice - but I'm guessing there's a lot more to it than that. 2) My first priority is having top surgery but I'm assum…

Even if all goes well, a sculpted phallus might be a far cry from a realistic penis. “If I end up looking at a little pink skin sock at my groin, not only may I feel incomplete, but I’ll think, Oh my God, I’m mangled,” Crowley says." -- out.com The Battle to Replicate the Body’s Most Complex Organ

Ok, I've just been puzzling over this in my head and figured I ask (how else am I going to learn?) For those of you who are hetero... do you prefer GG or TG women? Do you like feminine women or more masculine acting? I know there's not just one answer here, but I'm interested in seeing what the people I converse with think! Except Mr. "Run over all the girls"......

For transgender people, a life without binary norms San Francisco Chronicle (blog) (Video) Though Pierson is transitioning by taking hormones, he's not sure about the procedure that many female-to-male transgendered people undertake: top surgery. “If I could not have top surgery and be on a beach topless without feeling seen and it being a...

Spent most of the afternoon with my Dad. Feels so great to again have that father - son relationship. My Dad always treated me as his son until puberty hit. Then, it was all down hill. I could'nt stand being around him. In the past couple months, that has all changed. I have my Dad back. Feels great to be out in public and hear my Dad say, " This is my son." I now, again, really enjoy being with my Dad. It was comical when I left him this afternoon. He reached out to shake my hand. I shook his hand, and then gave him a hug. Told him, "hey fathers and sons do hug." I am so thankful that God has restored to me...that relationship. It's the greatest feeling in …

I was quite taken aback when I read this article today. The reporter writes many lesbians feel very betrayed when some or any of them try to make their female to male transsexual dreams become a reality. I have been, for as long as I can remember, very sympathetic with gay and lesbian people and I still am. In fact as a male to female transsexual, I have many lesbian desires and would love to become intimately involved, as a female with other females. However, in reading this article it is very disappointing how many lesbians speak out so strongly against female to male transsexuals who were lesbians. I have to say, of all people who seek tolerance and merit full t…

Umm... Hi. My name is Alex. Well, I have a few questions. I'm female. If I were to get an operation and (for lack of better words,) get a penis, would I be able to feel everything? What I mean is; During sexual intercorse, would I feel what other males (who were born male) feel? Would it be any different? Like the sensations, intensity of it, ect? Oh, and this is probably a stupid question, but would I be able to ejaculate? And would anyone happen to know what the sucess rate of the FTM (Female to Male) operation is? I heard it is a lot risker than a MTF operation. Sorry if the questions didn't make complete sense. I couldn't think of any better ways to …

  10. I know I want to present as male soon, but should i get it checked out by a doctor or something if my bodies producing way more testosterone then my sex should be? I'm not fully ready to transition and my fathers realized that things have changed a lot in the last few months with me that would be normally a side effect of going on T like: Increased body hair Deeper voice (idk if this is a side effect) but i rage a lot. Ive become a little bit more muscular. Quite honestly, im not ready for my body to change like this, not this fast anyway.... What the heck should I do?

So, I caught myself staring intensilly... at this guy Xavier in my Criminology class. I should have been paying attention to "Catch me if you can" But, I was admiring his body. He's tall. And Handsome. And I wished I were him.... Is this normal? To stare with admoration at a body that you just wish you had? I do that a lot. I don't know if I should have let my best friend record me saying that in the bathroom though... They may put that on tumblr. I'm rambling... Anyway. I have the buggest crush on his body, He doesnt have much of a personality but I feel like I just want his body. Normal? Yes? No? I'm so confuseddd!!

There is a TV in the foyer at work, often showing our own company's adverts, but as I was leaving work the other day it was tuned in to Sky News (What would be Fox News over in the US I Guess) - Anyway they were running a story of a 'pregnant man' and showed a picture of him... As the story develpoed the reporter said something like* "He was once a woman, and when he made his change he kept his internal organs and now claims he is pregnant" *I maybe not be word perfecy here but this was the tone of what was reported. Since then I've not beeen able to find any mention of this story on-line. I don't even know which country it was in. It did seem very strange t…

I don't feel valid and I don't feel like I fit into the transgender criteria. Throughout my childhood, I'd do things that were considered guy stuff. I'd rub my hair in the sand, play with boy toys, roughhouse, etc. When Mom chose clothes for me, I didn't fuss or get upset when she chose girl clothes for me. When I got to the age where I could choose my own clothes, I chose girly clothes and unisex clothes. I played with guys and girls growing up. I hang out with only girls now. I never wanted to be a boy, but I was a tomboy. When I got to the age of 11, girly things didn't interest me. When someone showed me something pink or frilly or girly, I'd say, "That's too girl…

Ken Williams - SDGLN Editor in Chief, September 18th, 2012 "Before I made the decision that transitioning was in fact the right thing for me and before I came out to everyone for the second time in life, I became consumed with YouTube. I watched countless videos of other transgender men and was fascinated with their stories, changes on hormone replacement therapy, their top surgery results and just how insightful some of their videos were. YouTube has helped me a lot." -Lewis, sdgln.com Beck Rosato Lewis: My amazing journey from tomboy to butch lesbian to trans man

  17. Hi... I'm Devin... I'm 21 and I am most recently starting to come out as transgender (ftm) I never imagined how hard this was going to be to just be myself. My mom still has no clue and I feel bad for not telling her because she still uses the female pronouns and I get so aggravated but its my own fault because I refuse to tell her. My girlfriend although we haven't been together very long is so supportive of me.. The only thing I'm afraid of is what if when I start my T shots and have my first surgery she's no longer supportive... What if she's only with me because the fact I'm still physically a girl?! I mean I don't have a huge support group where I'm from. And there a…

Any advice is good advice, i asked this on a diffrent forum but didn't get much a response Thanks Julian

(I'm trying to keep this as PG as possible. I hope this is all okay) Hey all. I'm recently coming out to myself. I'm still trying to discover my own gender. I was born with a female body. I'm attracted to men. I lost my virginity as 17 to my boyfriend, and he's the only person I've had sex with. Sex always hurt, I was diagnosed with vaginismus, a disease where nerves cause your vagina to close up when anything approaches it, causing huge amounts of pain or a complete inability to be penetrated. Now at 19, I'm realizing that more than anything this is probably a result of being trans. Do any other guys have experience with vaginismus? I'm mostly just trying to fig…

No matter how much I try, even in my least gender dysphoric moments, I am never able to achieve orgasm from genital stimulation. It's not difficulty orgasming - anal stimulation works. I have minimal sexual feeling in my genitalia (even my clitoris). In other words, not only does my female body not fit my gender identity, it doesn't seem to even work. Is this normal for transmen? Do you think this is caused entirely by my gender dysphoria? Do you think there's an actual physical aspect to it (fewer nerves there, maybe?) Another thing is, even though my genitalia have some sexual feeling, just not enough to attain orgasm, my breasts have absolutely none.

Yesterday I decided I was going to send an e-mail to my Great-Aunt, Grandma, Step-Grandma, and Grandpa. I have gotten two responses so far. Both were surprisingly kind and accepting. They are as follows: Great-Aunt: Hi there: I was sitting - drinking tea - and had stayed home today to rest and make some jewelry. I'm not surprised by your email, and very much appreciate the clarification on these many issues. I only had limited knowledge and/or understanding of some things you'd been dealing with around all of this. (And, without a second's hesitation I love you!!! - regardless of this or anything) I guess I got in on the generation that first started to exp…

Hi guys... I'm going to have to word this really carefully to not get 'funny looks' and generally be thought of as 'not being wuite with it' as far as TG theory goes... So a couple of things.... I totally understand that gender identity and sexuality are separate... I think they are related, but yes, separate. I'm always really interested in how other people think, feel, are driven etc... [i want to be a writer.. well I have written, I'm just not published. ] So I'm also intrested in people who are different to me... and in the TG sphere, I'm a GB (genetic boy... I see the term GG quite a bit so I guess GB makes some kind of sense)... and…
