Male to Female (MtF) Transsexual Discussion

Topics of interest to those with gender dysphoria and/or desire to live and be accepted as women whether pre-op, post-op or non-op, and whether "out" or not. *MUST BE A REGISTERED MEMBER TO OPEN ANY POSTS IN THIS DISCUSSION THREAD*

  1. There is a plethora of information, tips and advice available for women regarding intimate hygiene and grooming in books, magazines and on the Internet. Try looking for similar information specific to pre-op T-girls and you come up cold. Personally, I would have lapped up stuff like that when I started to seriously consider transition, and I’m sure todays and tomorrow’s new girls would as well. I know from what I’ve gone through and from conversations with T-girlfriends that intimate hygiene and grooming is too often a self-taught hit or miss thing for us pre-op girls as we go through our transitions. Most, if not all, of the existing advice for genetic girls makes…

I saw a advertisement for GO GIRL, a product that allows females to pee standing up. I purchased one because you never know. One than once I have been stuck in traffic for a long time and had to pee when still a male and would pee into a water bottle which is messy but better than letting go in my pants or simply suffering. So I am keeping this in my glovebox of my car. If I were to get stuck in a traffic jam I could slip into the backseat, get into position (have tried it with my pants up) and pee. Cars besides me might see something but heck if I care at that point when there is no end in sight to the traffic jam. I normally travel a major road, speed limit is …

Hi to you all, Just registered and want to introduce myself. My name is Rachael and I'm from Derbyshire in the UK where it's snowing and freezing! I am a MTF (pre-op) and being cared for by our wonderful NHS under two Doctors and Psychotherapists as well as one private Gender specialist in London. I've been on Hormone therapy for over a year and halfway to finishing my RLE. My surgery is scheduled for 2011. I live with my female partner and we live as a Lesbian couple.I'm looking forward to meeting on here some girls from the USA. I wonder how it is for you over ther care wise and generally social wise? Her there aren't too many…

Well I have an appointment for laser hair removal on my face on the 15th. Well, it's my consultation. I was priced at about £150-£200 per session, well, that's all of my spare cash gone if I go through with it, which I know I am. But they said it would take about 7-8 sessions on average. The sessions would be like every 8 weeks or so.

I went to see my gender therapist today, it was my final assessment session and she diagnosed me as Transsexual and I start hormones in two weeks time and can access all the NHS surgeries too. I'm so relieved finally after all this time.

I feel a little silly posing this question, but I have been occasionally wondering about it for many years. Tthere are sleeveless dresses, short sleeve sweaters, especially babydolls and chemises that reveal so much of one's body offered for sale among women's fashions during the fall and winter, compared to flannel shirts, long sleeved sweaters and cotton pajamas, among men's fashions. Looking at the Victoria's Secret website, they are currently offering much more skimpy lingerie to sleep in than comfy pajamas. Therefore I wonder if females may be, on average, a little less sensitive to cooler temperatures than males. I often feel cold during the late fall and wint…

I've kept my nature between only myself and my wife mainly because I've been so intent on making my marriage work by acting as a man. Things have gotten a lot better lately as communication has grown civil and two days ago, I finally came out to a friend of mine. Since then, I've let two other friends know and I know it's a cliche, but I feel like a weight has been lifted. I am going to see a therapist as soon as money is stable and, as much as I'm dreading it, I'm going to talk to my parents about it, too. Everything finally seems to be working out. I'm absolutely terrified of the social repercussions of transitioning, but it's what I need to do to be true to myself…

I have seen a lot nice and positive stories on the tgguide with getting a real woman. But not a lot of stories from those how have had the SRS transition and there life experience after and how this feels now. For me this is very important to know how many positive or negative real life experience there are from after the SRS transition. Is it what you have expected? Are you really home in your new live? I myself like to go the hole way but have still some questions on how others have experienced it and watt I need to know and expect. I think a lot of us dealing with this issues have this questions. Sorry for all my spellings and grammar mistakes I hope you al…

Hi, I'm Tessa and I just found out about these forums through twitter. I'm 23 and I've been transitioning for about 7 months now. It's strange, I heard stories of rejection pretty much everywhere on the Internet, so that's what I was expecting. Instead everyone in my life loves me more now. They say I've come to life and I talk more. I guess didn't hide depression as well as I thought I did. Anyways, I'm a senior in college and I'd like to see japan some day. I'm not really into anime as much as I was when I was 18, but their culture is so different that I'd love to experience that. I've got a friend that's moving over there for a year, so he can tell me all about it.…

I just stopped by to say hi. I have been continuing my electrolysis and was pleased to reach an important milestone the other day -- there are no more dense dark hair patches left on my face. I can now shave and there's no real noticable shadow. We are continuing to work on removing lighter and lighter hairs, but I have been able to cut back to 1 hour a week and retain my sanity; the electrologist has been amazed at how little regrowth I've been getting, but that could end up being the true gift of the laser treatment, I suppose. I finally broke down and bought a tube of lidocaine from her. I was amused to note that it says "anorectal cream". I told her that was ap…

I was reading an article online and it was basically saying that. Men who have GID and suppress it, are often violent, take extreme risks with their lives, and may even have OCD and other controlling behaviours. I will try and find this article, but I found it interesting because I had most if not all of these behaviours listed.

  17. (I apologize in advance for anything possibly offensive I might say. This is my first time ever going into this much detail about this.) Hello. For the time being, I am choosing to keep my name private for personal comfort. I am not sure how active this forum still is, but this seemed like a good place to look for possible help, or even advice. I am 22 years old. For my entire life, I have lived as the gender I was assigned at birth, Male. However, once again I am questioning my gender identity. This is not the first time I have; however, this is the first time it has been this intense or serious before. I can count two other times t…

This is also for FtM's too, Sorry, I should have put that in the title, my apologies. You are in a place ( heaven, a different universe, where ever we begin ) and you have no form but are completely coherent and are intelligent. Standing before you are two children's bodies. One is a boy and one is a girl. You have to decide which one to be born in to. But there is a catch. If you choose the boys body you will live until a hundred years have passed, with a life free from illness, making many friends and have a family that loves you, you will be wealthy and not want for anything but there is no such thing as SRS/hormone therapy and GID has not been or ever will be …

I just needed some advice. I have a friend ( male ) I've known him for about 13 years. He's with a girl at the moment, he confessed to me he was bisexual, but he isn't out. We got talking the other night when he was over at my house and confessed to me he dreamed about me the other night in which he was having sex with his girlfriend, he then looked away and turned back and he was having sex with me, he said I was hot and that I had huge breasts and a huge penis and this got him extremely turned on. He then went on to ask if I dreamed about him. I replied no. Over the last few days our conversations have turned sexual in nature and I said I did think he was nice looki…

I just recently got started on Hormones :-D, but I've only been on them for three days. Now I know they say you shouldn't notice any real physical changes till 6-8 weeks on hormones. Now I'm not particularly overweight but I have some fat on me, and it seems like a little fat has redistributed to what will soon be my breast area. Definately no tissue growth but it seems like my nipples are a little more sensitive and there's a little more fat there...is this possible or am I imagining things?

I've just had a, let's call it a quiet argument with my wife. She wants me to move to Cardiff with her and the children and come out as a gay man, instead of living as a woman. She said it will be easier for me, her and the children. as Cardiff is very transphobic, and so is her family. She also said that her family is also very welcoming and warm towards gay men,as her uncle is openly gay,and her family don't have a problem with gay or lesbians but transexuals is a whole different ball game. Later that night, I cried my heart out and I cried until I had no tears left. I then went out in my car at 2am in the morning and drove towards a cliff edge, I live near the co…

So Girls/Guys, What is your strategy for when people laugh at you in the street, how do you cope; what do you do to not let comments or laughter get to you on an emotional level? I don't have THAT much trouble, but now and again the pointing or the laughter or sly giggle gets to me, I know it shouldn't, I just wondered how everyone else copes with this situation? Melanie xx

  23. I over purchased lubricant and have 10 4oz tubes (paid two dollars per bottle instead of say 6 to 12 dollars per bottle) from equate plus 3 bottles of the same brand of 8 oz and another brand 6 of 4 oz. So here is the deal, I will give the 10 tubes to anyone who will be going through GRS in the next say five months for free that are in the continental USA. The cost to you is picking up the shipping cost which I would provided after the fact. If you can afford the entire shipping cost pay what you can. Trust me when I say you will go through lube like there is no tomorrow in the first month or perhaps first two months. Expiration dates are 1/2017 For the record I am using…

I am currently in the process of a career change and interviewing for jobs and I am looking to buy myself a nice pant suit. I have found one that I really like online, but I need specific measurements in order to get the right fit. For the suit I am looking at I need to provide measurements for bust, waist, high hips, and low hips, as well as height. The height part, of course, is easy, but what I am wondering is *where* exactly on my body I take the rest of these measurements, especially the ones for the hips? Also, should I take these measurements standing up or lying down? I have noticed there is a little bit of difference. I know these probably sound like dumb que…
