While wanting to remain entirely within the board's rules on not discussing dosages and so forth, I'd like to hear of others' experiences with supplementing their estrogen regimen with progesterone or any form of progestin, but especially 'natural' i.e. micronised progesterone. Effects, both good and bad would be interesting to read about and whether people feel whether it's been beneficial to them for whatever reason. I'm aware that its use is somewhat controversial for TSs but its near-impossible to find any useful literature on the subject, however I'd like to know a bit more about things before I see my endocrinologist in November. Thanks in advance for your …

I have read on a few websites most transsexual women over the age of 50, such as myself, using female hormones develop at most A cup size female breasts. Having at least relatively large female breasts, at least a B cup size, is very important to my female self-image.I am trying to be patient, I used female herbal supplements from January to April, have been taking estrogen since mid April, progesterone since May. I wonder what has been the experience of others in developing female breasts, without using breast implants, especially those over the age of 40. Is it true I most likely will have to settle for no more than A cup size female breasts? Also, does it reall…

here's another poll i thought of after reading dev's reply in the "How Far Do You Plan to Go" thread/poll in the FTM forum. i've never seen too much in the way of progress when it comes to SRS for either the men or the women, but especially the men. but then i've not really researched it either. despite that, however, it seems to me in all the things i have read, information like that would be in yer face so to speak.

Well I've noticed a lot of people aren't yet on HRT. Why is it taking so long? I'm by no means trying to rub anything in. Perhaps I was in some stupid way a "special case"? ( I'm used to that. Beena ginuea pig all my life with medicine, GID wasn't the only disorder I was born with. ) I came out in December of 2004 to my parents. Received councilling and was on T-blockers by I believe April 2005. Then I was on Estrogen by I believe August. And finally I was put on Progesterone at December of 2005. Is my progression fast? Or is it merely a case of me having no concept of time? It seems to take much longer for you other girls and I don't get why? Raises all sorts o…

So...my wife said she'd buy me boobs for Christmas I'm trying to do a bit of research, and I'd like a little info from you all if you happen to know. First off, what types of implants are used? I know the norm is a saline implant, and silicone implants are sometimes used. Aside from the possible health risks with silicone, which of these two are going to look more natural? Also, I still haven't started my HRT yet (hopefully in the next month or so). Now, assuming I some how come up with the money in a timely fashion, should I wait a length of time before getting the implants, to let the hormones kick in? Or is this not a concern? Anyways, thanks all!

I read in a post that Annie wrote that a majority of TS are non-op. It may have said pre-op, but I was wondering if the majority are pre-op or non-op? When I first visited here, i assumed that most were post-op, but learned this was not true. I'm not sure that there are any post-op regular posters here, am i wrong? If you are a TS and will want to be with a straight male as partner, you would then *need* to go for SRS. Would that be a common reason for SRS, or are there deeper reasons that are different for some even though all should have been *born* female. I'm still learning! -Kim PS) I have to go for a magnification mammogram tomorrow, Dr said it's to err o…

This was written by me in April of 1999. It was my first published internet editorial, and addresses my earliest impressions of this community. You will see that philosophically I have evolved beyond the opinions expressed here, particularly as they apply to my own life and plans for the future. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~THE LADDER~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I am a fairly recent arrival to the transgendered "community," for want of a better word, having first made contact with you all in January of this year. Until that time, I traveled this road in total isolation-- had never spoken to or met another person like me. In the four months since my first foray onto the internet, sp…

And said, you can have anybody's body style you wish, and when you wake up the next day, you will have that body, who would you chose? Men and women answer please. I'm thinking Jessica Simpson for me. -Kim

With the pain and depression and stress that comes from knowing you are in the wrong body, and therefore must have felt depression at some time, has any Dr. given you antidepressants hoping that will make things *ok* for you? I would suspect that some would, and I was wondering if you thought this actually made it 'worse' rather than better. Because I know first hand that SSRI's can make you feel apathetic, and unmotivated. Modern medicine sometimes like to 'suppress' pain rather than deal with it head on.

I have seen a few posts that were describing some of the pain that was felt, and the feeling of hating the body you saw in the mirror, but started to feel better when HRT started. Did you feel better because you were moving that much further along in the transition, or is it because the actual hormones are affecting how you see yourself? Coming form a born female here, I have rarely, if ever felt like the hormones were "kind" to me. What do the hormones do? I know that for me they regulate the reproductive system and such (to no avail for me), but when reproducing isnt the issue, do they have an effect on how you actually 'feel'?

I hope this doesnt sound like too stupid a question, but since I have been hanging out here, and getting to know and admire you ladies, I have been talking to some folks I know at work, and so forth, about their opinions of the TG folks. I do this because now that I have hung around here, I am interested in learning more and I was curious how people I know feel about TG people. If anyone sounds negative I find myself taking immediate issue with them, and realize that they are speaking out of ignorance so I pipe up and become an advocate of sorts, but I don't know how to respond to their theory that TG's are "gay men who wear girls clothes". I know this is not the case.…

Well, I'm very curious to hear other people's experiences about being TS. More specifically, I'm talking urgency. How urgent and when did you feel the need to transition? For me it was a state of utter inactivity. I wouldn't live as a boy. So I just let myself get sick. Didn't bath unless I was forced to. Stopped going to school unless I was forced to. Eventually stopped being even the least bit happy with anything. I just sank into myself. Mum was worried that I was slowly becomming one of those people that end up completely inanimate. But anyway. That was during my early and mid teens. I'm 17 now and have been on hormones for about a year or so now. Give or take a…

First off, let me start off by saying I understand this is a VERY personal question, so I will not be offended if anyone insists on not replying. I guess what I want to know is, how 'realistic' is the vagina after an SRS? Not just appearance, but along the lines of physical sensitivity? Will I have a G-spot? And...*cough* what about female ejaculation? This is incredibly embarassing to ask, I have to admit -.- But I'm very curious, and would like to know if anyone's willing to share something so personal.

i hope someone will lend an ear to this... i identify to myself as transgender... and this is why; since i was a child i never felt right in my body... when i was 3 or 4 my moms favorite story was when she asked me how her little boy was, i told her i wasn't her little boy... she never probed any farther... in school i would rather read a book, play hopscoth, or be with the girls, not playing football, or other things with the guys.. when i was 10 or 12 i started wearing my moms undergarments... panties, nylons, etc... i felt like i was supposed to, it was comfortable to me. then i went into the army at age 18 "had to be a man" i kept myself busy, got married and ra…

Greetings all, First of all I don’t mean to offend anyone but I am simply a heterosexual male trying to understand what makes a transgender ticks. I was involved with an interesting discussion on transgender being linked to a mental illness. I was saying one that is transgender would qualify as having a "delusional disorder" because they have no premise of the reality that they are either male or female except for their thoughts/feelings of being the opposite gender. I have learned various male transgender having a female bed nucleus of the stria terminalis (BTSc) in their brains, which regulates sexual behavior. Some of the people that found this out were wonderin…

I am a 28 year post op MtF and have been on estynal for 25 of those years prescribed by my doctor. I have moved from a large Metro Plex to a small rural area in south Texas and have been with out my medication for three years. The hot flashes and night sweats have become unbearable and weight loss mood swings etc. Problem is I have no idea how to go about finding a doctor to prescribe my medication and or if medications have possibly changed over the years. I also am wondering what the side effects for a post op that are not taking their medication? Anyone have any simuler experience or know where I might start to look for a doctor? I live in a very stealth mode (new w…

Hello, Im new to the site but was trying to get some input and replys from individauls using T-Blocker's and how they are working for them. I just started taking 2 differant medication's used as I was told by my Dr. as Testorine blocker's. I am taking Spironolactone, and Proscar(Finasteride). I was told I could use both in combination in the hopes of deturring facial and body hair. I am currently under going electrolysis for beard removal and just wanted to get some feed back from anyone using iether of these 2 medications as T-Blocker's,specifically how long it takes too see visable results and how these medications have worked for other's. I was told Proscar might dim…

Hi, I would love to transition MtF but cannot do so at least for now. But to prep my body for full HRT I am considering taking an anti-androgen to reduce my testosterone to female levels. I would greatly appreciate hearing from girls that are on anti-androgens only and what effects they experienced. Thanks for helping, Loe'

Hi, I don't know if this is the best place to ask, but generally, MtF's, after SRS, what is your new vagina like? Depth wise, sensitivity wise, and does it lubricate at all? It's just something I've been wondering about for a long time and I would like to hear what it's like for you so I can get a general idea of what to expect in the future.

I know that some of us have had counseling and have gotten through what has happened to us in the past. I know i have but i still don't hide it and i am open to talk about it. Hey oprha winfrey also talks about her past abuse. I just think that much of this potential abuse does direct us in our preferences both pre and post transitioning. Personally, i was sexually abused ( / beaten naked with a radiator brush and my body was aligned to get erection with the use of the nuns habit/cloth) by a nun at 12 yrs old. I ended up in a mental hospital at 13 and 14 for two times of 4 months long. Once it was for wearing womens clothing. I was also sexually abused by other ki…

A lot of gays (A LOT) think that we are plain freaks. You just have to enter a gay chat or go to a gay restaurant dressed up and you'll see their reaction. A lot of gays just hate us and it doesn't make any sense to me. In fact, the worst (unwarrented and unrequested) comments about my physical appearence and ability to pass came from gay guys. When asked what they think about men who date post op TS women, gays like to think that these men are closeted gays. It makes me so sick that a lot of hatred and phobia against our community comes from gays.

Today is two things for me. First, it's Australia day, which means my parents are out, I'm not, and I'm having friends over. Second, I'm transitioning today. In an hour one friend will be arriving with my clothes, and... yeah. My parents will come home, and then what happens happens =/ Its a scary thought, just having my parents come home and see me like that.
