I am a 28 year post op MtF and have been on estynal for 25 of those years prescribed by my doctor. I have moved from a large Metro Plex to a small rural area in south Texas and have been with out my medication for three years. The hot flashes and night sweats have become unbearable and weight loss mood swings etc. Problem is I have no idea how to go about finding a doctor to prescribe my medication and or if medications have possibly changed over the years. I also am wondering what the side effects for a post op that are not taking their medication? Anyone have any simuler experience or know where I might start to look for a doctor? I live in a very stealth mode (new w…

I've been on hormones and in transition for about 6 years, if I remember correctly, now. My voice has softened, my breasts are much larger, body hair is thinner and less coarse, and I'm much more comfortable in my own skin. Adrianne and I have talked, and I feel I'm ready to go for GCS. I'm going for zero depth. The work and effort to maintain a healthy neovagina with depth is more than I feel I could keep up with. I want to know what it feels like to be penetrated, but the cons outweigh the pros. But there are things I need to know first. 1 - I use electrolysis instead of laser due to tattoos. I have no ink on my genitals, but do I need to have the hair on…

This post is primarily in response to Pantau's question about western therapists. Do they really help or do they try to "fix us". I have only been seeing a therapist for 6 months. I found my therapist on my own , I was first refused a theapist as I am not able to come in as often as they wanted. With a bit of persistence thet recommended a therapist to me , she is wonderful , very understanding and supportive . Most importantly she is not trying to "fix" me , and she has helped me to find confidence and courage to be myself , I am still not completely out yet but I am miles ahead of where I started. I do know however that there are those who will just put there stamp on y…

Hi Everyone, I am a MtF currently living on the east coast. My lease is up here in 6 months, so late September of this year. I'm early in my transition but expect HRT progress will make this area unsupportive on many fronts soon thereafter. For that reason, I'm considering relocating to PDX. I lived in Eugene for several years so I spent some time in Portland. It seems like a very Trans-friendly city relatively from what I've read. I'd really, really appreciate anyone's advice or opinions on this plan including: - How trans-friendly is Portland? - What neighborhoods in the city or in the outskirts are most accepting and safe? - Therapist recommendations? - …

Some weeks/months ago, Dear Abby made the news and the board when asked what should be done with the childhood photos where her brother-in-law is dressed as a little girl. She anticipated that children she would eventually have would ask questions if they saw the pictures. Well, of course they would! This week, in the Thursday paper, she printed the responses she received from several transsexuals. I'm surprised it hasn't been mentioned here, yet. "Our" advice universally agreed that she should ask her husband to approach his brother about the question and abide by his wishes. Abby took it all very well. Several letters expressed how we feel -- born in the wron…
