I had an appointment with my endrocologist and he said he will give a referral for ANY procedure. I am still on cloud 9. After all these years of self loathing and doubt, of losing my job and getting divorced, of thinking that I was crazy or some k ind of pervert, I find out that I am not crazy or perverted and that that the light at the end of that tunnel is getting brighter. MY words keep running off the page so I'll get to hte end and say for everyone going thru this Keep your head up. Now the expensive stuff begins. A question. Would an orchide…

I just had to tell everyone that I just received my second opinion regarding SRS. I'm so happy! For some reason I was really worried I would be refused, but after an hour long interview the doctor had no problem referring me for surgery. I still have to wait for everything to be processed by the Alberta government so I can get my finding, but that will only take a few weeks at most. Once that's done I can book an appointment in Montreal and then I only need to wait a few months! After a lifetime of waiting it's hard to believe it's so close.

okay...let's try this again. i had never done a poll on the forums before and it didn't come out as i expected. so...as i was sayin', in chat it seems that most FTMs prefer straight females for partners, and many MTFs seem to prefer females for thier partners. this has only been an observation based on the few i see in chat, so it may not be representative of the majority. also, thanks to kenny, i realized i left a choice out of the original poll/post. what's your preference for a partner in a relationship? 1. Straight men 2. Gay men 3. Straight women 4. Lesbian women 5. Bi-sexual female 6. Bi-sexual male 7. MTF (pre-op) 8. MTF (post-op) 9.…

Err, I guess I was spelling that wrong! (whoops) I found this video (they're not shy with showing the surgery, so, if that makes you queasy, avoid it) on Yahoo about the subject. I was sort of amused looking at the video of the guy who was going in for surgery. I was just like.. wait.. is that the "before"? *Looking down* I thought it was funny too that they mentioned "blood pressure medication". I was just like.. hmm.. yep.. I know what that probably is.. :)

Okay so I often regret in my life not coming out sooner as I began to bald at the end of my college years and continued on till about a 1 1/2 ago. I took measures just before going on HRT and started to take a three part hair treatment that I bought over the counter. In a year of taking it while it did slow the hair loss and some hair grew it didn't do much. Taking the advice of my doctor I switched to a Generic version of Rogaine and instantly in a month I have a much fuller amount covering my bald area, while still there are patches its much more covered now. I have read studies in the past where a M2F transsexual on Hormones with treatment along with Rogaine experi…

Although I have begun HRT and I am also using T-blockers it seems that my facial hair is still growing faster than I want it to. I plan on getting a laser removal later on but in the mean time do any of you know of a good way to retard or slowdown the growth of facial hair? I was under the assumption that the hormones and T- blockers would slow my facial hair growth by themselves. As far as laser treatments are concerned are they expensive and do they work well?

I wonder if some male to female transsexuals experience any change in their sexual orientation by taking estrogen. While I have wished for many years to experience sex as a female with males, I have never been physically attracted to any non-transgendered males. I still am only attracted to females.

here's another poll i thought of after reading dev's reply in the "How Far Do You Plan to Go" thread/poll in the FTM forum. i've never seen too much in the way of progress when it comes to SRS for either the men or the women, but especially the men. but then i've not really researched it either. despite that, however, it seems to me in all the things i have read, information like that would be in yer face so to speak.

  11. I've read recently that mothers who took DES hormones during their 1st trimester (which was common for women in the 1950s who had trouble with pregnancy) may have affected their male babies in utero. The DES (which is essentially a synthetic estrogen) interfered with and reduced the testosterone surge in the middle of the 2nd trimester, which may have led to the male baby's "misalignment" between sex and desired/preferred gender. In other words, this might lead to the child's being MTF transgender. I don't know if my mother took DES and it's impossible for me to find out as she's deceased and medical records are not available. I looked around and was surprised to s…

Hi, I'm Tessa and I just found out about these forums through twitter. I'm 23 and I've been transitioning for about 7 months now. It's strange, I heard stories of rejection pretty much everywhere on the Internet, so that's what I was expecting. Instead everyone in my life loves me more now. They say I've come to life and I talk more. I guess didn't hide depression as well as I thought I did. Anyways, I'm a senior in college and I'd like to see japan some day. I'm not really into anime as much as I was when I was 18, but their culture is so different that I'd love to experience that. I've got a friend that's moving over there for a year, so he can tell me all about it.…

Hello I am Kelly and I am a 31 year old mtf pre op ts for 10 years now.I always felt mostly feminine since I was 7 years old and never felt masculine. At first,I did get into my mom's closet and tried on some of her heels and pantyhose which I liked.I bgan crossdressing after that and I knew this was not enough in my late teens. Finally I was at a crossroad when I was 19 and decided on the transition. My mom was very concerned about me and I broke the news to her about this first. It was good news, she told me that she loved me regardless and saw I was in lot of pain.My father otherwise was tearful when I told him and he thought it was his fault not raising me as a boy right.I…

Hello Everyone my name is Karla and I am originally from the north of England.I am 36. Ever since a young age I have wanted to be female. This at the moment though is not an option, but I am now getting closer to what I want. Society and familial constraints dictate my life in a direction that is not truly me. This is something I hope to rectify in the future, but until then I aim to live my life to the best of my ability's. So a little about my home life. I live with my fiancée, my son who is nearly five months old, also my two step children aged 10 and 11. I have a 14 year old daughter from a previous relationship who I aim to see fortnightly. I also have a blog i…

Hello Family, My name is Rhonda and I live in Portland,OR. I am a fifty plus year old Male to Female Transgener. I have been "battling" this condition most of my life. Either by ignoring the urges as I could or by keeping in the closet I could no longer fight the urges. I came to PDX. With the specific goal to "start" a real life test. Since arriving here in the first of the year. 2010 I have so far managed to find a ND to over see my HRT, I'm on Spirolactone and Estrodial. I have secured living "quarters" in a relatively safe building. I'm seeing a Gender Therapist at the behest of my Naturalist Doctor. This is a brief history of where I'm at now. I have…

Hello everyone! My name is Julia it's wonderful to meet all of you. I'm a self proclaimed non-op. I just celebrated my three year anniversary of going full time as of the 11th of this month. I experimented with estrogen fairly heavily when I was around thirteen and on and off until early 2001 when I started doctor prescribed hormones and haven't been off of them since. I transitioned in Helena Montana which was "interesting" to say the very least. LOL! I'm a distance runner and love to run with my doggy every morning. I'm also an artist and work in watercolour, pastels, charcoal and coloured pencil. I have a varied taste in music ranging from industrial, ebm, darkwav…

Hi !!! It is Virginia I am still learning my way the site. So, if I seem like I don't quite know what I'm doing, it is no surprise. I hope to make some friends. The town I live is so lonely and boring. There is nowhere to go and not much to do. And I am too afraid anyway. I wish to find a place I can feel comfortable to be myself with nice friends. So, talk to me!!! I hope we can all have fun together - Virginia - :)

Hello all! As I'm a new member here, it's high time for me introducing myself. I'm Sophie Taylor, or just Sophie. I'm from Hungary so it's the English version of my name, but it sounds much better than in Hungarian. I'm pharmacist by my profession so probably I'll meddle in topics of medication, hormones and such. If you have any questions about medicines just ask me, I'll try to help. Although registered names can change country by country, Internet helps to find out the active agent so I can tell some details then. Probably I can't reply quickly every time, so please, be patient. My main priority now is finishing my Ph.D. studies. This together with my day-to-day…

Hello, my name is Rachel. I am 35 and I identify as a transgendered person. I am pre-operative, pre-hormone, pre- pretty much everything basically. But I am in therapy or counselling and have been for about 2-3 years now and have made some strides in coming to terms with who I am and how I wish to live. I am still fairly new to this situation and not sure about many things but I do know that I wish to express my honest feminine leanings and self. I posted a few photos so be kind and don't judge too harshly. I am a very sensitive, shy person and this whole coming out thing has not been entirely easy on me emotionally. I have lost a few close friends since coming out…

It's been a hell of a ride so far but also worth it. For me this whole situation actually gets easier and easier as the effects of HRT continue to evolve... Anyway, drop a line sometime and I will try to be as supportive as I can for everyone else here. xoxo Christine
