thesun.co.uk, no doubt, has got to be about as insensative, pompous, judgemental and bigotted as FOXNews. Note the overall demeaning tone of the article. The sub-headline, "story that will shock every parent." Quotations around "he" in a few places. Then there's the caption under a picture of Jake and his sister, Olivia, "Sisters... Olivia with her new little "brother."" "Sisters?" Really? The article also starts out as if Jake's parents are villians. Like there is something wrong with them. As if they are doing something wrong. Some people, like the author of this article, Sarah Arnold, shouldn't be allowed to report news. In fact, media such as thesun.c…

Teo Bishop, 10/11/2012 8:51am It snowed last night. First of the season. There wasn't quite enough to break the branches like last year, but it was enough to remind us that the season of fall, as much as I'd prefer it last forever, is simply a transition. What we're witnessing in the seasonal display of colors is the letting go of something we've grown accustomed to. -huffingtonpost.com Trans Is A Teacher for All Of Us

By Rachel Thompson LONDON — A city council has sent a letter to thousands of parents asking them to support the gender their children "most identify with" when confirming school places. The letter, sent this week, requested that parents help their children "choose" their gender identity, asking them to leave the gender section of the form blank if their child is non-binary. http://mashable.com/2016/04/20/gender-identity-children-brighton/#mB.b05sVaEqr

Janice D'Arcy, 12:17 PM ET, 05/22/2012 "This is a question I didn’t think much of until about six years ago, when I awaited a sonogram technician’s explanation of what she was tracking on a blurry screen. Growing up transgender isn't a passive existence unfortunately. Being in the closet is painful. Children are born transgender and being transgender is a life long thing. That life being one that could be happy or could be extremely sad based solely on how we as a society treat them. We have children, right now, ending up in the hospital due to stress. Children attempting to take their own lives. We can't change every negative that a child might face, but we have it in our power to change many. To say we won't because a certain community isn't seen as ready is a critical mistake. Transgender is: A Gender Identity that is other, in some way, than the sex that was assigned …

October 26th, 2012 Growing up gay is not easy, for any generation. Baby boomers and their LGBT elders, for example, lived at a time when information about LGBT issues was almost non-existent and when there were no role models on television or in popular culture. Many of them grew up not knowing another gay person in their school or community … until they moved to the big city and found a welcoming community in bars like the Stonewall Inn in New York City or The Club in San Diego. -sdgln.com LGBT youth who are out are happier, but still face serious obstacles
