This may be the finest presentation I've ever seen by the parent of a transgender child. I came across it late last night and found myself brought close to tears and real joy for the family and for Dana, their wonderful son: Proud to call you my transgender son

Many may question their gender growing up, but never really give it too much in-depth thought. Others will go along [happily] being themselves "because." And in a lot of cases, that they are not the gender they know themselves to be isn't usually an issue until - PUBERTY. i think people should get to know their options that could (help) them not have to grow facial and body hair!! i am older now, but did they all know in the 1980s that hormone treatments at puberty could keep people from the need to deal with that kind of hair? i suppose there are other (important) issues to consider for some people. but still! ...not the time it takes as much as the difficulty of doing it perfect consistently and the irritation. i have other skin issues and stuff that maybe complicate it.

After talking to my best friend and her mom I want to start transitioning. My friend started three years ago and she looks so much different. Her mom is very supportive of her decision but I know my parents won't be. I haven't even told them how I feel. My friend and her mom said that they will help me as much as they can. What should I do? I don't want to wait until I've fully gone through puberty as a male to start to transition to female because I know it will make it much more difficult.

I'm a transgender parent, but I'm hoping this is the right forum to post on. 2021/2022 will be my main transition years. But I'm super worried about my kids and what will happen with them at school. Anyone have any experience? Advice?

What I Learned as a Parent of a Transgender Child As a pediatrician and mother, I thought I knew a lot about parenting. But I was blindsided by my daughter’s coming out as trans, and that first year was riddled with mistakes.

For those who are going to have kids, or those who already have had kids since coming out as transgender, how would you name your kids? Would you give them gender typical names, or nongender specific names? Stereotypical Gender Specific - Steve, Lindsay, Johnathan, Julia, etc. Nongender Specific Names - Kelly, Ashley, Aaron/Erin, Jen, Alex, Adrian(ne), etc. None of us know if that child is cis or LGBTQ, until they let us know. This is an excellent 1.5 hour video of Dr. Norman Space, Nicole Maines, and her brother Jonas providing their audience with a view into their lives. The video is certainly okay for children but probably more interesting to parents. While driving along the Alaska Highway last summer I happened to find a podcast called "How to Be a Girl: Daily Life With My Transgender Daughter" and quickly fell in love with the posts.
