  2. Steve Helling | 01/07/2015, 7:00 PM EST "Elliot also has had some surprising reactions. "I went off to college expecting there to be zero ignorance, and I was very, very wrong," he says. "People will say inappropriate things and ask inappropriate questions. Some of them are simple curiosity, and they don't realize that they're being offensive. But then there are some people who are trying to be mean. You learn to tell the difference."" -- people.com The DeMita Fletcher Family: What We Learned From Our Transgender Son

  3. Julie Ross, 08/15/2012 2:59pm "This might be a good time to tell you that my daughter Jessie spent the first three and a half months of school -- not to mention the prior nine years -- as George: a complicated, funny, dyslexic and wildly artistic child. In December of fourth grade she socially transitioned from male to female and finished out the year with a seamlessness that no one could have anticipated." -huffingtonpost.com What's in a Name?

  4. Dyson Kilodavis, "the princess boy," was a little over 3 when he told his mother he was a pretty princess, and was the inspiration for the book his mother wrote, "My Princess Boy." I've been unable to find much since Bonnie first posted the thread " in December 2010. But the latest seems to be when Dyson was featured on ABC's Primetime Nightline in August 2011 when he was 5 - he began wearing dresses at 2. His mum, Cheryl, has become another "accidental activist." Watch the video segment on Dyson at (Extra)Ordinary Family: Inside the Transgender World. Take the poll, but post no answers - and no cheating by using image-recognition progs or websites, or any of…

  7. Leslie Lagerstrom, 08.01.2012, 4:30pm "As I studied the photo of three young children playing house, a sick feeling began to grow in my stomach. In front of me were two girls engaged in traditional-gender-role play, happily assuming the coveted parts of mother and child, and then there was Sam, complete with a fake beard, sportcoat, top hat, and a grin from ear to ear." -huffingtonpost.com XX vs. XY
