I like your take on this, too often I have let a random comment from someone I don't and never will know bring me down.

"refused treatment on moral issues" - What sort of Endocrinologists do you have there, they should be making clinical judgments not moral ones.
Best of luck

She actually had a big post operative bleed last night and was rushed to Accident & Emergency - I was so worried for her. The news this morning is that she is okay and no internal damage has occurred to her new 'parts', thank goodness.

Beth, you look absolutely great there's no reason I can see to ever think you were never the woman you are now.
Here's to an amazing future

It will get better, bit by bit they will learn to use the correct gender pronoun.
...and yet, despite everything they WILL make mistakes, especially family as they have a long history to change in their heads.

Well the latest is that an incredibly attractive Lesbian chatted me up on Sunday evening and we had lunch together yesterday. Finished up with some very long naughty kisses outside my office before I had to get back to work - wow!

Back to only one girlfriend now - Michelle and I decided that it wasn't working as well as it should and have split on best of terms - she's lovely and will always hold a big piece of my heart.

Oh this is wonderful news for you, and hopefully great news for other transsexuals in your country, your evangelism for the cause is to be applauded!
Blooming well done!!!!!

Wow - Sometimes I forget how much better it is for us in the UK. Police are instructed to treat people as per the gender they portray with disciplinary action if they don't. I've never carried any letters etc. to prove I'm transgender and not a 'pervert' and although I have had some issues with members of the great unwashed public its been small and generally just verbal.
Hugs to you girls in the less tolerant places (which if this morning's press is to be believed includes France http://www.metro.co.uk/news/864522-brigitte-bareges-sparks-outrage-for-comparing-gay-marriages-to-bestiality )

Hear hear Brittany.
I haven't used a male toilet on purpose for over 24 months now and have never had any issues from that, whether at work or at more public ones in pubs and shopping centres. I've also used several unisex toilets in pubs around London and fully support their wider adoption - just as long as I don't lose the nice big make-up mirror ;-)

The video I grabbed on my phone was after the main issue, I just didn't think of videoing it until he started using his iphone on me - wish I had as it might have stopped it a lot sooner.

Luckily my girlfriend was with me - so we were 2 against 2 :)

One guy was sort of supporting me but not with any action and one woman behind the guy did say a couple of times "just leave her alone"

I wouldn't class them as anything more than idiotic bigots.
If he's flicking a "westside/westcoast symbol" that pretty much proves he's a saddo - it was east end London, not west coast California - he he!!

You must feel like you are coming up to the end of a marathon, the line is ahead and now all your preparations and hard work are paying off.
Smiling here for you

I hope neither you nor your girlfriend are going to bank on any sort of apology. If he was drunk enough to do that in front of everyone, he'll either insist he had the right as well as the right of it or he'll blackout. Either way ...
I'm sorry her mother has passed. I hope you can help each other weather the passage.
No - I'm not holding my breath for an apology xx

One other thing that comes to mind is that I'm lucky to have my doctor totally on my side with regard to the prescribing of the hormones. He's been just great but he has never dealt with a transgender person before and I have to prompt him for everything.
An example of this is that after he prescribed the 4mg a day tablets I had to ask him for a blood test to check my levels. We decided to do this after a month so I've settled into this higher dosage.
If I hadn't asked for it he wouldn't have remembered to offer it despite the advice letter from the Charing Cross GIC.
So remember girls - ask and ask again, doctors are fallible and you are likely just 1 of 30 people they will see that day, its all important in your head - let them know.

Even a small step towards your goal is positive - just keep moving forward and you WILL get there.

Addendum:
Today (Monday 31st) I got a call from my girlfriend that there had been some bad comments about me from the Scottish members of the family that came down last week too.
They are worried that my girlfriend's brother will get some stick for his sister being my girlfriend. I have told her that I will be there for the funeral to support her, if me being at the service would distract people from thinking about the loss of her mother then I would stay away, but if its only about her brother (who is a drunk and a habitual drug taker) losing a bit of face among the rest of his druggie mates then fuck 'em, I'm going.

Thank you both, it was so lovely of her to say. Now it's my turn to show my devotion to her as she underwnt spinal surgery last Thursday for a very badly herniated disc at L5/S1 (the most common area apparently).
I'm her nurse for the coming weeks.
