I hesitantly post this, but it seems needful to me, to never forget that cruelty thrives in people i can only see as incredibly damaged and misinformed. Please, always be careful out there. A minority movement can grow, and a minority member can strike.

Tonight , I watched as most of us did on the long anticipated airing of the Bruce Jenner story. I really thought a lot of Bruce's openness and honesty. I saw a lot of my very own childhood as I too had religious parents and two siblings . My younger brother has only "Touched " the surface in even wanting to deal with his new found sister . I went straight to FB following the local news . The FANGS were already out as Bruce confessed he wasn't a Liberal! Goodness, GASP , he wants to talk to Mitch McConnel and other Republicans who "WE REALLY ARE"! Great! I'm for it . The current crop of Republicans thinks we're Child molesters and Mental cases . Because I have sever…

Hello Everyone, I hope I don't cause a firestorm by what I am about to say, but I need some help sorting out some feelings that I am having concerning the ABC special on B. Jenner this evening. On one hand, I can certainly sympathize with what B. is going through, and to have the courage to talk about it, on national TV, on one level that is awesome. It puts a face to being on the Transgender spectrum. But it is a spectrum, and that is what is bothering me. We are all individuals, and while our own journeys have similarities, they also have differences - occasional, part time, full time, surgery, no surgery, out, in the closet - each one of our journeys is uni…

The topic may seem a little off. I am a business woman and probably soon to be in the media as I am spearheading my own thoughts on the Unisex bath room issue at the University of Virginia . Besides that, own a design firm that makes models and movie props as well as renting antique cars . Because of this , I have to look like a business woman . I see so many Trans women dressing ether in club wear or dressing in something that looks awful on their body shape . Now TG Guide members ,would you want to participate in photos of clothing that looks correct for the work place or provide advice ? Lets talk !

I saw a blog post by a 'traditional Roman Catholic man' the other day and it reminded me of just how much work we need to do. He is so full of hatred. I have linked to the original blog post in my blog. If you have any doubts about his intentions read the posts immediately preceding and succeeding the post I link to... https://daniellaargento.wordpress.com/2015/04/15/a-transgender-parable/

I'm back on track with my trans life after five years of dening who I am. I want to get back on HRT but need to see my doctor about it who said after my heart attack it was not wise to pursue. I was wondering if the use of the off the self estrogen will this low dosage help in anyway till I can see the doctor. Also with normal therapy will this decrease my sex drive to nil.?

I have just published my latest blog https://daniellaargento.wordpress.com/2015/04/10/unity-and-diversity-not-mutually-exclusive/ In which I discuss this excellent article http://mg.co.za/article/2015-04-10-00-i-am-genderqueer-comfortable-with-my-identity-at-last Which shows so nicely that the different parts of the broader trans* community really do have more in common than some may think. We really thus have so much more to gain if we act in concert...

At this time I know that this is a prime time for those who are looking to transition and I know this from research and just transitioning. This video I'd say validates this. http://www.ellentv.com/videos/0-jyoekfe6/

Thank those who had some helpful tips on my hair. Of course this is a very minor detail in respect to everything else going on. A big thing for me was finding the right therapist. The third time was the charm for me. I learned how little most of them really know about transgender issues. I had been in therapy for depression for a year until I finally came out to my therapist. He was a nice enough man but he could not help to deal with this at all. I started to have some very deep depressive times. I also have a psychiatrist that did my medications for me. I went back to him, thinking I needed some different meds. He, very wisely said that I did not need different me…

Hello Everyone, As I stand here, trying to get out of the closet, trying to figure out how to tell my family and friends who I really am, to finally come into the light, it has occurred to me that, among other things, what seems to be holding me back is the fear of being alone. Some of this is the fear of leaving the relationships that I have and not finding new ones. Some of this is the fear of being shunned by people I know, people who think they know me. It almost feels like I have to leave my life to find a new one. While I think these feelings certainly have some basis in reality- I will in all likelihood lose people I love - I also believe some of this is o…

Michelle Wolf | March 30 2015 4:00 AM ET "Then she went into discussing privilege — and one by one, I could see her losing them. From there, she transitioned into talking about white trans privilege, and she started to even lose some of the trans folk. Nothing she said was the least bit untrue, but nevertheless, the message was building up the very walls she so effectively knocked down moments before." -- advocate.com Op-ed: Why Labeling Others As 'Privileged' Isn't Helping Trans Activists ________________________________________________________ I understand perfectly what the author is saying... but perhaps it's time that Americans face truth and accept reality…

I am early in my transition and have a question about growing my hair out. It is getting to the point where it is not long enough to do anything with but long enough to look scruffy. Is there something I can use on it to keep it less messy while it grows out.

I have been wondering about the way we (as a community) refer to women. Why do we so easily and readily call grown women 'girls'? Do you think that we should find another more respectful term rather than 'GG'? What about CGW (cis-gender woman)? Is this not a better descriptor? Am I being too politically correct? Check out: https://daniellaargento.wordpress.com/2015/03/18/referring-to-women/ for more if you are interested.

I hope you understand, this is a very real question for me. For example, today I was thinking about telling my son that I am transgender. He's 30, and I imagjne him saying, "Okay, what's that mean?" To which I'd say something about my always feeling not entirely "with it" in the masculine role, envying girls and women, wishing I'd been born one, etc. I don't think he'd get it. Or last week, my wife and I had a meeting with my therapist. She asked me, "What do you feel, that you know you're transgender?" I told her that is a hard question to answer. If I say I feel like a woman "inside," what does that really mean? I said that I feel I'm more emotional, sensitive, and e…

So, I started T in october (which is super fantastic, I also realized I haven't been online in a while, and I've been getting messages about the phone conference thing which i constantly mean to call in but never get the chance to) Anyway, I apparently gained 30 pounds and on top of gaining that weight, I have a huge fear of seeing doctors, so I haven't had a Primary Care Physician since I was 18 (mostly because of the fear of my legal name, doctor commentary on my life as far on T and transitioning.) so I went 3 months with an ear infection, which the doctor at the mazzoni center (who prescribes me my T) prescribed me Amoxycillin for. But he urged me to find a PCP and…

I think it is fantastic that people get together on the phone like this which creates a safe haven to actually talk to each other. Sorry I had to jump out but had a call from my mother.

I got to thinking about this today as I had to pick some automobile hardware at an auto parts store . I was dressed in a female top , the usual minimal jewelry , watch , ear rings . Even a decidedly female coat . I probably should have had a picture . O K , the manager who see's me all the time got talking with me about her Mother. I could tell that I was getting a detailed look. I finally leaned over the counter and said, "Look, I have both female and male parts, I'm transgender. Expecting a negative reaction , she patted my arm and said , lets talk outside . We did , she went on about her Mother .I listened . She was way more comfortable with ma that point. I ju…
