As much as I am not a topic starter (in fact I find it very difficult to create topics of discussion), I've stumbled upon the term postgender a great number of times in the past few years. The most accessible definition (but not the only one) - courtesy of wikipedia: I have known a few people who know of the subject, yet I am finding more and more people who likely know little of the matter directly but make statements about how gender is or should be irrelevant when it comes to how one lives their life. This is very intriguing to me, and as such I am wondering if anyone here has ever had any involvement or experiences with the postgender movement, or what the…

OK, anyone following me on "Faceless Book has seen my struggles in changing my records well past the Easily obtained Court recorded name change I received in September from Chesterfield County Virginia . The FUN began when it was time to get my driver's license changed . I swear , Virginia operates under two sets of laws . They have one of course who recognize relatives of elected or past elected officials . Then they have the "OTHER SET " . Yeah this one is for people like myself who are KNOWN Rabble rousers and Hippies . This is where I come in . It's a KNOWN Fact I was a protester during the Viet Nam era in Washington DC and yes , I knew , not that I was friends , but…

Good evening! I'm trying to find places to go in Toledo. I don't actually live in the city so it's not really practical to just go all over asking bartenders to describe club climates to me but I will if I have to. My spouse is not yet certain what he's looking at in himself, and isn't ready to have any of this spill over into his day to day life until he's worked through his confusion, and I support however he wants to deal with this. He grew up in a bullying environment and is rather shy, so I thought I would try to see if I could reach out and get some recommendations. He has expressed interest to me in going out together with him in dress, only neither of us have…

I know I am new here but after reading some of these posts I wonder how many others feel the same. As with my family and co workers they claim to be Religous and according to the Bible being gay or Trans is not Gods way and is a sin. First there are those who claim to be Religous but havent been to a church in years or maybe their whole life and those like my family who are very strict in their Religous beliefs and do go to church. Both these groups are quick to point a finger at some one and are predjuice towards anyone who is not like them. They hate people of color because they are not like them, they hate gays because they say it is a sin. Well I may be wrong, but doe…

What prompts a person to claim being attacked when s/he really wasn't? In the past 2 or 3 years, I've read a few articles about lesbians claiming to have been attacked (Charlie Rogers, Dayna Morales - to name a few), alleging a hate crime against TGLB people. Recently, there has been a trangender student claim to have been attacked while coming out of the men's room in school. He later recanted his story. Do these people believe they are helping to change things for TGLB people? What could possibly be going through their minds when they report crimes that never happened? And with today's technology, do they really believe they will not be found out? Seems t…

While I didn't achieve some of my goals that were set, two events took place in my life. In June, I migrated closer to the transsexual spectrum. It was very subtle change but I view myself more as a transsexual. I dress at least half the time in women's clothing. Some day it will be full time. The second event was when I met with my veterans group in September. I usually come dressed as a male. The leader of the group asked why I didn't come dressed as Gennee? I had thought about it prior to the meeting. Ever since that day, I have gone dressed as Gennee. I also attended two wakes dressed. No one paid attention. My desire to live full time as a woman is growing. …

I know that we have talked about this subject many times but I will never get used to people talking about me. I was at the mall the other day and I over heard some guys talking about me, saying "I couldn't tell if that was a man or a woman". I usually just ignore such talk but I just don't know how you can let it keep from bothering you. Should we just accept such behavior as a fact of life because of what we are? Am I alone in these types of situations or have others experienced such circumstances? :(

Every year I set goals rather than make resolutions. I put a time table as to when I will achieve a specific goal. This past year events happened in my life that was unplanned for. I am the better for it. I identified as a cross dresser at the beginning of the year. In May I sensed a migration away from the cross dresser spectrum. It was always my contention that my gender issues ran deeper than just wearing womens clothing. I have crossed many roads in my journey but this marked the first time that I hesitated going across. In June I identified myself as a transgenderist. I wear womens clothing all the time at home. I viewed myself being between a cros…

Hi everybody! Happy New Year. It's a new year where new goals can be set. We expect this year to be better for many reasons. Last year may have been good or it may have been bad. We can't do anything about last year; we can only move ahead. I pray that in 2010 your goals and dreams will be met. Gennee :)

Has anyone noticed that more and more, reports on transpeople are referring to us as simply "transgender(s)?" "A transgender was seen walking..." "A transgender has decided to run for office in..." "A transgender sues former employer for..." "Transgenders gathered to support...." It's beginning to feel like we aren't even being considered human, like a "transgender" is some sort of species. It seems the habit is even more prevalent in Asian countries. I've never liked the word anyway. I've just tried to be politically correct, and tolerate it...especially in light of the fact that it's also been used by some post-op transpeople to lord over those who a…

i have decided that i am going to give up on my transition as i no longer support the very community that time and time again have shunned me and not helped in my goal to womanhood. for the past 7 years i have went through literal heck, clawed and scratched to try to transition and no one seems to bother in helping nor cares i am even around. not to mention...i get critized, made fun of within my own community because i am having to present male until i get settled in my next place, if i ever do have one...knowing me ill live homeless the rest of my boring life....im so tired of being bashed within this community and looked down upon as gutter trash because i happen to be…

This article isn't specific to trans folk except that there is an interest in ultimately being able to have children as cisgender folk are able to do. This article has a number links to transplant information including a successful penis transplant. All of which, again, for cisgender patients, but it also speaks to a potential that could one day benefit trans folk. https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/speaking-of-science/wp/2016/02/26/cleveland-clinic-announces-first-successful-uterus-transplant-in-the-u-s/

Yesterday, I received a phone call and the caller thought I was my mom. After Annie mentioned guys mocking her "head voice" in the thread about people thinking we're gay, I thought I'd post it here. This happens to me all the time over the phone (very, very rarely in person). They think I'm my mom, or if they don't know me or her, they call me "ma'am." I guess I sound like an older woman to them. This is only strange if you know that I make absolutely no effort to sound more feminine when I speak. In fact, around guys, I make a conscious effort to sound more masculine. Has this ever happened to any of you?

Saw my Dad today, and knowing i would'nt see him on Christmas, we did the gift giving today. And, my Dad gave me the best gift. On a Christmas card he gave me, he wrote this one sentence. "I thank God for sending you to me. Love Dad" What greater gift could i ask for.

I have been researching foods to help enhance breast tissue, and some say it helps, others , not so much.. I already have a significant mass there from weightlifting when young, and at 54 years young now.. I am not very interested in hormones, but believe strongly in.. "we are what we eat"... I have been incorporating some of these items listed on this website I included below, and I think I have seen a little bit of development. Maybe it is just wishful thinking, I don't know. I just wanted to get feedback from others here. What they have done, what the results were, and what works the best. Thanks. http://malebreastenlargement101.com/male-breast-enlargement-herbs/

Hello, After years of hurt and pain, I have come out with my real feelings. It has been a long time for me. I guess it started when I was real little. My sisters used to dress me up. My Mom kept my hair long which was a plus. They would often dress me in their skirts and dresses and put my hair in pony tails with ribbons in them. I can remember that it felt weird to me, but I also felt good. I so after started dressing in my sisters clothes on my own. This continued on and off all through my school years and into college. I had a BF in HS and nobody knew about us. I would often dress for him and told him I would like for him to marry me someday. I always was very jealo…

I feel great my parents are in my life and still love me regardless. My parents care about me and I came over to see them today. It did go great to see them and they see I have a much better life now although my life as a boy was harsh.I am their only child and know I had a harsh life as a little boy.My mom saw at first,I fell in love with anything feminine at age 7 and never felt masculine.I was also teased and picked on a lot being called a lot of names which I will not mention. When I was 19,I told them the news I was going through the transition to become female not having the SRS.My mom supported me right away and told me she loved me regardless. My father cried at first…

Please excuse me if this is not the correct board, but I am not sure where it would fit. Hi there, My name is Tansy Bradshaw, I am a late-20s Australian writer who would love some assistance from you and the wider trans community. I am writing a book based on the life of Edward DeLacy Evans a trans man who lived in Australia between 1856 and 1901. During this time he was married to 3 women before he had a 'mental breakdown' and was revealed at Kew Asylum. I am writing the story as so the reader thinks it's a man until the incident at Kew Asylum. However, I know that I am ignorant when it comes to how a trans person feels, and as I want to write as authentically as I c…

Dear Friends, After I returned from a Gender Conference, I learned that a transwoman, who I don't personally know, but who is a dear friend of a friend of mine had GCS only a day after the Conference ended. The very next day, she had facial feminization surgery. During the facial feminization surgery, she aspirated vomit into her lungs, and went into a deep coma with a very poor prognosis, and then passed away a few days later. The doctor in question, was a speaker at the Conference, two of whose talks I attended, and he offered "free" mini-consults during the Conference, and I was told he offered discounts to those who agreed to surgery during the Conference. …

Hello everyone, I realize this isn't a novel topic and plenty has been written about it from a number of perspectives. I thought it wouldn't hurt to add one more. Let me begin by saying that I'm a 43-year-old heterosexual male. I'm not dealing with any gender identity issues. I'm not secretly gay or bisexual. I am attracted to women and I am attracted to women who have a penis (although I'm not interested in having a penis inside me). I consider myself to be a normal, healthy person. I'm well educated, mannered, attractive and have had a number of serious, long-term relationships including a 15-year marriage and other meaningful relationships. I was inspire…

I don't know if this is a big problem for other trans people, but at work, whyrrr I'm out, People In the back room crew where I work are constantly poking at my feminine tendencies. I was in a great mood today until they decided to say that because I really liked this greeting card we processed because it had googly eyes.... They also poked fun at yjr fact that I really liked a photo album that said be yourself. I kind of flipped on them today because of it and I said "if someone who was born biologically male did any of this you wouldn't question them but you have to belittle me at every turn."
