  1. I celebrated Trans Day of Visibility both yesterday in Washington DC and today , in Richmond Virginia . Let me explain that history was actually made in Richmond simply by a PUBLIC display of the event ! NEVER EVER has there been a public display of this , ever ! Locally, the Nationz foundation , primarily a outreach of Gay and Transgender people of color presented a wonderful panel discussion where Transgender people answered questions of what it means to be Transgender , Gay and add African American to the equation! Meanwhile , Yesterday , in Washington DC , I was at the No Ma Gallery Spaces presenting Diane Kelly's new book, The Sky Turned Green and the Grass tuned Bl…

  2. You see with the current way things are working.. I'm living paycheck to paycheck, so I find it very difficult to save anything. Or it happens that I get to save a little bit of money on the side and then something happens that I have to suddenly spend that on something important to keep me going, like recently my jeep. So I haven't been able to save anything for my surgery and my consultation is coming up at the beginning of the new year! I'm struggling and my dysphoria is getting worse.. (Suggestions are greatly appreciated!) Please help ๐Ÿ˜ฉ

How often do you replay these comments in your head? "Don't do this you are bringing shame onto this family" "Don't you care about your wife and children?" "It says right here in the bible, you are an abomination to God" "Take up your cross, suffering is a part of life" "You are bringing so much hurt to your family and friends why are you doing this? "Why don't you just let that part of yourself die so that we can get on with life" "We like you as you are, you will be causing so much trouble for us" "How can you do this to us?" "You are so selfish" "Your self-centeredness is going to destroy your life" "You are killing your career" "Why can't you shake this …

  4. As transphobia enters the Oxford English Dictionary, Helen Belcher asks if itโ€™s hate, ignorance or government stubbornness that is the real problem 25 June 2013 | By Helen Belcher "Scrabble players have the benefit of some new words thanks to the latest version of the Oxford English Dictionary. Transphobia and transphobic are two of them. Judicious placing of tiles on pink squares may see scores just about reaching three figures." --gaystarnews.com Are we using the right words for trans hate?

  7. Hello my name is Cat and I'm a nurse specialising in various laser and skin treatments. I have been treating clients for more than 5 years and I now run my own clinic in Newmarket Suffolk. I use both Alexandrite and NdYag lasers (not IPL Intense Pulsed Light) as from my many years experience in all types of laser and IPL for hair removal, I have found these to be the most effective lasers for all skin types. I also have a very effective cooling system to make the treatment more comfortable. All my lasers are medical grade, not Chinese imports so I have the support and regular service back up of a major laser company to ensure my equipment is running safely and eff…

We have many teddy bears and other stuffed animals. Until the last couple years, they usually stayed in the same places and I only occasionally picked any of them up. As my transsexual awareness and desires have intensified in the last couple years, I have become increasingly attached to my teddy bears and other stuffed animals. Maybe this is related to latent maternal instincts and needs or perhaps I am going through another childhood, anyway, I am quite attached to my teddy bears and other stuffed animals. I enjoy, as I never did before, holding and cuddling them. I also like having one of our stuffied animals often sleeping in bed with my wife and I.

I attend an accepting church. My wife and I have become members as of yesterday. There were at least 3 gay couples and 5 or 6 lesbian couples. As far as I know I'm the only transgender person there. My wife and I feel comfortable and have made some friends. I may speak with the pastor about my being transgender. I can honestly say that I feel comfortable about doing this. I'm also sensitive to my wife's feelings. She accepting of my dressing up to a point. Recently, for the first time, she walked beside me on the street while I was dressed. As you can small advances have made. I would make my day when I attend service dressed up.

I recently logged into the TGGuide message forum and saw 27 guests, 2 search engine spiders and only 2 registered members. We have quite a few people coming through here who never take the opportunity to register. You know who you are! Don't get me wrong - we love visitors and lurkers, but why don't you take a few minutes to join our friendly transgender forum? We have a great group of members who will do their best to answer your questions, or perhaps just join in your conversations. If you've been lurking for some time you'll notice that our forum is becoming more like a social networking site with member profiles, private messaging, photo galleries, personal b…

How do you handle those awkward family moments? Saturday I was at my brother's house visiting. I see them once every few months. I live as female part time so currently I work as a boy, see family as a boy, but otherwise I am Britney. I went to a party Friday night and then was at my brothers on Saturday afternoon. He was making fun of me cause I don't know anything about football or what a waiver wire was. Saying thing about the "man card" and ect. He has seen some of my kink photoshoots but from years ago when I shot as a boy so my family already thinks I am weird. As I was leaving his house his wife happened to point out that I was still wearing mascara from the ni…

Hello, I apologize if the views and questions I have is offensive to anyone, but I don't have anyone in my world to answer these types of questions and I want to understand better to hopefully tweak some of my viewpoints. If something I say is off-putting please let me know and why because it is not intentional. I have always believed that everyone deserves to live their life the way they want, if it makes you happy and doesn't hurt others who cares if someone doesn't agree/understand it. If I know someone uses different pronouns than I try to make sure to use what makes them feel comfortable. I always felt like that was enough. Now, I want to work on that becau…

I've been developing this FAQ to hand out to supportive friends and family and I thought maybe it had some things in it that might be useful for others on here. I've tried to be as unbiased and up to date as possible, though I am lacking "sources" for some things that I can't remember where I heard them now. Also I've removed some personal info from it where possible. It is obviously written by an MtF, but I have tried to include info on FtMs where possible as well, since I think it benefits us all for people to hear about all sides of this. There are some links at the bottom too which, if I'm not supposed to have them, moderators feel free to nuke 'em. But they're int…

I'm sure most of the girls here know what it's like to want to have a baby of their own but be unable, so I thought I'd ask here. A few members here, in response to the news of pregnant man, have expressed the desire to be pregnant, give birth, breastfeed, and raise children as a mother. However, we all know this is impossible. Even adopting is out of the question for many transsexuals, thanks to nonexistent antidiscrimination laws. I would love to be a mother, but there are many reasons, only some of which have to do with being stuck in a male body, that I have chosen not to have children. (For one, I wouldn't inflict the curse of being my kid on anyone. ) But…

I have spent the last year truly pondering my GID and what it means to me. I have had many dreams through the years and some opportunities have just simply past. The early fanatasies of turning into a little girl can never be. Having a little girl body, wearing pretty girl things, slumber parties, and roller skating and ice skating, just aren't going to happen. Having everyone see me as pretty in pink and being adored at parties, is one for that early age. The young sweet face that draws all the young men to dream and desire me is a thing of the past. Being a Cheerleader and Prom Queen just aren't going to be there either. Being a teenage girl has past, as well as …

 Ok I know this is in no way considered a "general transgender topic" but here it is anyhow. So i go for my yearly (well 2 years this time) mammogram, and the dr calls a week later and says they want to take an ultrasound on the right to see that these 2 tiny dense areas are cysts. Of course I started riddling him with questions, he told me not to get any grey hairs over this, it is common, they always error on the side of caution. I felt ok about it for a few days, but mind mind started doing it's ugly tricks. The next day one of my old dogs got really sick, I was off work all day sitting in the waiting room on a veterinary specialist waiting for results of a ul…

Always wise to reveal yourself when dating. Just force yourself to watch a Jerry Springer episode that has transgender guest on and they tell someone they have a penis and watch the fireworks go off. If you do need to tell someone make sure it's in a safe place as their manhood may take a jolt and cause reprisals. This picture may be silly but it can get real.

I know I've been posting a lot of threads lately... sorry I just love to talk. I've spent a lot of time lately just meditating on, and seeing beauty everywhere in the world. I know how cheesy that sounds, but doing things like life drawings tends to do that to you. There's something intimate about putting down a person's lines and shadows on paper and unless you hate your work, it's impossible to not find beauty in your subject. It spills over into the rest of life. I grew up seeing images of TSes of the Jerry Springer variety, like some of the other threads I've seen posted on here -- badly botched implant jobs, real drag queen looking types, don't really seem to …
