Hi everyone. Looking to see if anyone has constructive ideas for raising money for surgery. I'm looking to complete my surgery....have the doctors and therapists letters....even have someone that will go with me and help out. Just have to raise the funds. I know care credit and Capital One health used to lend monies, but since the economic downturn, they have stopped lending. I have no house to take an equity loan on, and even my car is 11 years old. Any ideas? I'm open to all. thanks.

Hi.. first time posting here so I'm a bit nervous but here goes. This is my situation. I'm physically female but mentally I feel like I'm not. I guess I feel like I am neither/both, but I do have times when I feel male. I'm usually neutral. I explain myself as being intergender when I tell someone about me. But I have always hated being stereotyped like a girl, I don't act or dress like one, and I cringe when people call me "she." I'm a moderator in an online game, and on the forums associated with it. I have very few offline friends and I'm pretty much a shut-in. All of my best friends are online and met them through this game. The community at large doesn…

I was inspired by the laser hair removal thread Do any of you guys have facial hair? If you do, is it just naturally there or do you shave to make it thicker or what? I was just wondering because I have what could be considered "peach fuzz", so I can say I have a small 'stache.

Lewis Hancox won hearts and minds when he appeared on British TV documentary My Transsexual Summer, now he’s building the life he’s always wanted 16 January 2013 | By Lewis Hancox " It’s been over a year now since My Transsexual Summer was broadcast on Channel 4 in Britain. It’s insane how time flies! Since then I’ve been part of a club tour around the UK with the rest of the cast, along with attending some quite prestigious events. Back when we were filming in the summer of 2011, I honestly never imagined how much this show was about to impact my life." --gaystarnews.com Lewis: Life since My Trans Summer

I haven't posted here for a while. Been transitioning since 2003. It's been a tough road...transitioning in the same place , same job, family and friend opposition. But, today, I feel like the end is in sight. Talked to my Dad today. A person that has never accepted my transition. And, in our conversation, my dad said, "I wish i could be the man you are. You are a good man." Wow.. I can't even put into words how great that feels. Been a long time waiting for. Guess I just wanted to share this to let all of you know.....no matter how long it takes....never give up on being you!

So, I don't know if any of you have heard about it, but there's a magazine called FTM Magazine, I'm friends with the Editor who also created the Self Made Men site. When I went to the gender conference in Harrisburg PA, he wanted my story about being a transgender christian, and happily enough that my story was in the july edition.

On 11/8/2011 I officially had my name changed from my birth name to Alexander along with a totally different middle and lastname. I cant believe how simple and easy that was. I didnt even have a real reason prepared. When the judge asked, I just stated that I didnt like the name i had, and he granted my request. Thats so awesome.

Hey fellas, Does anyone know the effects of moderate drinking on testosterone? I drink about twice a month, but I'm wondering if it's somehow inhibiting my transition. My endocrine hasn't returned my email regarding this question. If anyone has any info I'd appreciate it. Thanks, DS

What Trans Men See That Women Don't Very interesting article for me too as I was AMAB and have transitioned to female. I've often read about how T is so powerful, that it makes trans men (and, presumably cis-men) feel more powerful and aggressive. Well, I never felt that way! Maybe that was because I always was a trans woman irrespective of hormones? Please add your thoughts. I'd love to hear from you and correspond about this fascinating topic! P.S. At the top of the Time webpage is a short video that was very interesting to watch.

May 16, 10:44 AM EDT Doctors say the United States' first recipient of a transplanted penis is recovering well from the delicate surgery. Surgeons on the Massachusetts General Hospital team who performed the transplant on 64-year-old Thomas Manning say blood is flowing to the organ. They say there are no signs of bleeding, rejection or infection, and that they're cautiously optimistic he will regain the function he lost in 2012 when cancer led to an amputation of the penis. I spoke to my biological father recently (after not talking to him for 8 years or so), as a favor to my sister. Well, in short, it didnt go well. It was like I didnt even know the man on the other end of the line. Then to top it all off, he kept saying he knew me. That he wanted to help me. I gave him the benefit of the doubt as i had growing up (to his reasons why he was never around), anyway, he went on trying to explain to me whats really wrong with me. As it turns out, even after both my sister and I explained Transgender to him, he has it in his mind that I have a multiple personality. He thinks that my new name (Alex) is my male personality, and that my female name …

Hi, I have two questions I'd like to ask knowledgeable FtMs... Background - I have really bad acne so I'm taking both Tetralysal and Dianette capsules daily to control it (I am also taking the Dianette to make 'the dreaded event' once a month a little less painful). For these reasons (and a few others) I am reluctant to begin transitioning by dropping these to increase my testosterone levels. I would like to know: 1) Is it possible to transition without testosterone? I don't especially want the excess hair and grease and I could learn to lower my voice - but I'm guessing there's a lot more to it than that. 2) My first priority is having top surgery but I'm assum…

First off I Must say that being trans for ME was Not about a sex change or being manly. I do not drink beer, watch sports, or drive a truck. I don't even drive. When I was told by the gender "specialist" that in order to get on my testosterone I would need to engage in a MAN ONLY activity in public in my chosen gender role. So I went to a Gay Bar and hit on cute boys! I stole someones boyfriend and snogged em in the stairwell! Then I started hanging out with this super sexy drag queen and we became bffls! I did her hair and makeup, and outfits so long that I wanted to join in! No one knew I was born female and they were drag queens! Eventually I came out to …

So. I Came out to my whole family yesterday, But the result was surprisingly painful. Pretty much. for the last 17 years i've been a ministers daughter. Four older brothers, a step mother who's into gender roles.... You know every 17's year olds life dream to live in a religious jungle. So, I sat everyone down and spoke. Told them how every third Monday night I go to church... Well a church.... I go to a support group... they've been driving me to transgender support groups.... They're response was pretty sickening. My dad asked me what I was doing at those in the first place. It's bad enough that I was a lesbian. My step mother walked away. My biological brother …

Loren Cameron is an award-winning literary figure and photographer who was invited by the University of Minnesota-Du to present a collection entitled 'Transgender Images' and was provided with a $4,000 honorarium. Mr Camerons exhibit documents his own personal journey and his work has been shown at Universities around the world. However, Critics have described the event as potentially 'offensive' and have suggested there is a better way to spend the money and that it's not the best use of taxpayers resources. Firstly if anyone thinks they will be offended by Mr Cameron's work don't go and see it. I think the money was very well spent, He's an award winning photograp…

So, you would think after so many years of stabbing myself, this would get easier. I hate the days I have to do the T injections. Seems like it never gets easier. But hey. Who in their right mind enjoys stabbing a needle into themselves? Is there a nurse in the house?

I recently made myself a binder out of wide elastic bands (I think they're 3-4 inches wide) and some long "bra closure" things. It works very well, and manages to squish off about five inches. Laid flat, it measures 21", and compresses 34" to 29". I could breathe fine and take a full deep breath if I wanted to. The problem I found is that after about a while of wearing it - only about three hours (during which I was only driving), it was more than just a little uncomfortable. It took until after going to sleep for the effects to wear off. It was just a general shooting pain in the sternum area and it hurt to laugh even after I had taken it off (about five and a half ho…

I had a question about HRT and other options. I'm 45 and had a complete hysterectomy at the age of 27 because everything had stopped working and I had extreme endrometriosis (sorry about the spelling). I have never taken any hormones. I work out often and I'm not a big person at all, definitely in the chest area. There are all these websites that sell testosterone and/or muscle builders. Right now, I'm just interested in having a little more testosterone in my system to help build some muscle mass, I know as I do that, it will also decrease my breast size. I am not in a position to transition because of my job and my kids. Even though I am a teacher, I don't dress …

...* WHO currently defines transsexualism as a mental disorder ...* 35,000 people sign petition calling on the body to change its classification ...* Campaigners claim current definition leaves people vulnerable to stigma By Claire Bates PUBLISHED: 06:14 EST, 19 October 2012 | UPDATED: 10:10 EST, 19 October 2012 The World Health Organisation has come under pressure from campaigners to stop classifying transsexualism as a mental illness.
