This article has been posted elsewhere on the TGGuide message board, however, it is so critically important to those considering transition that we are going to include it as a pinned topic. We have an article online from Melanie Anne Phillips about how to develop a feminine voice. You will find audio and video samples from Melanie as well. The page also includes a list of free Internet resources to help develop your female voice. This is a good starting point for developing your female voice. Developing your feminine voice takes time and work, but the results are well worth the effort. Virtually anyone can achieve a reasonably passable female voice with consiste…

The other thread got me to thinking of a hypothetical scenario. Let's say if it becomes possible to swap male and female parts 'down there', and was a relatively safe procedure, would you team up with a trans person of the other gender and trade? How much would your decision be influenced by partial functionality (but better than current procedures) vs full functionality? How much would knowing the 'part' belonged to someone else influence your decision? Me... I don't know if I'd go through with it. MIWBJ

Most M2Fs have an ability most GGs don't: The ability to pass as a male. Are there any full-time M2Fs here who use this ability to their advantage? For example, if you need to walk alone at night, you do have the option of impersonating a guy so that you're less likely to be bothered. I'm not full-time myself, but I do go out as a girl a lot. I've recently taking to walking an hour per day, several days a week to try to slim down my belly/waist. My boyfriend told me I should do my walking as a guy so that I won't be hit on by random guys. Note: I'm not as gender dysphoric as a canonical M2F, i.e. I don't loath my male self, but I do prefer being female.

Hi everyone. Firstly I would like to say sorry this is my first post and not an introduction in the relevant section. I am Jane, pre-op MtF transgender, 35 years old. I transitioned at 17-20 while starting counseling. From 20 onwards I got the all clear from my doctors and therapist to begin HRT. Hormonally it was a rough start but mood and such settles after a year however mood problems began 5 years go with feeling unwell from the hormones and I opted for just antagonists instead of replacement and even tried cycling on and off estrogen. I have been through 3 doctors, one Endocrinologist outside of my small town even. Right now it has been 1 year straight on antagonis…

I have found they do SRS in Guadalajara Mexico for about $10,000. Yea, I know that's a low price and people say you get what you pay for. But without insurance, I have to keep it affordable if I want to get it done at all. Anyway, I have looked on the internet, and haven't found a lot of information, for or against having SRS in Mexico. You would think if they did poor work, people would be more than willing to post "DON'T GO THERE" or something like that, but I'm not finding any negative reviews. But then again, I'm not finding any positive reviews either. Does anyone out there have any experience with SRS in Mexico? Have you heard or read anything positiv…

Is it just me, or do you too find the term shemale, not only very incorrect but also very offensive? Now don't get me wrong, (Im not having a go at ANYONE - Im just having a B.i.t.c.h) but that term, "shemale" to me invokes images of things that I don't even want to talk about. Now Im not a prude either and have been around the block once or twice (or five times) it just that, well you know....... We are not shemales....we are people, with hearts, emotions and feelings, We are not "things" to be treated with contempt and disrespect. As humans everyone has a god given right to be treated with respect by their fellow man, and as a Trans person, or as a trans community we a…

  13. When a Forehead Reduction Procedure Makes Sense This coming Thursday I'm going to have facial surgery including a forehead reduction. Very timely that I came across the above post yesterday. It's expensive — I'm appealing Kaiser's coverage refusal — but for me I feel my forehead is such a noticeable and impossible to hide feature that others subconsciously use to misgender me. Crossing my fingers. I worry more about this surgery more than GCS and breast augmentation. Even if it all turns out okay (which I expect) I must be extremely careful through this year to avoid sun exposure that will darken the scars permanently. I have several hats already and ordered an…

As a Pre-op female, I was just wondering if being a female is more disired by more people. I know we are all female in early stages of life. Could this be the reason that their are more Mtf then Ftm (With apoligize to ftm). The percentage of mtf is much higher. Also males tend to crossdress and women crossdressers are much lower. Just intrested in hearing opinions? Where the majority of people born, meant to be female?

I know, from the handouts accompanying my prescribed estrogen, progesterone and spironolactone, as well as reading articles at certain websites, there can be potential serious or relatively minor ill side effects. I have experienced being lightheaded once and temporarily stopped taking these hormones. Occasionally i experience moderately discomfort in my lower stomach, which I do not know if my taking hormones may be a factor. I wonder if anyone has or knows of anyone who had serious side effects from using estrogen, progesterone and/or spironolactone. Thank you.

I've noticed a lot of talk here about sex, especially people who self identify as mtf transsexual talking about continuing sexual relations with their wives or girlfriends in more or less traditional (ie boy-girl) ways. While I certainly don't pretend to know all the answers, I do know this - that being a mtf transsexual means that you want to physically be a girl to match your emotional and intellectual identity. And, if you're serious, that will include hrt, which after a relatively short time (for me about 3 months) makes continuing in that way (boy-girl) not physically possible, nor in my case, desirable. The desired outcome of hrt is the eradication of male chara…

ok, I don't know what is going on, but I'm still not on HRT yet as I've been waiting for three weeks now to receive my letter, but that's a different subject. 1. Why am I trying my best not to use foul language, when I used to swear like a trooper? 2. Why is it that all I want to do is talk to my friends about my feelings, their feelings, how their kids are doing, how my kids are doing and just being REALLY in to feelings and emotions, how my friends are feeling etc etc when before I wasn't too concerned. 3. Why is it that when I put on a boys shirt ( I still have two or three lying around ) I feel repulsed ? 4. Why am I getting upset about my hair all of the time? …

keep in mind that I have been using my feminine voice every day now. A friend that I have known for awhile (he knew me before my transition), called me the other day. He knows I am in transition, but I haven't talked to him since I started using my feminine voice. I knew it was him by the phone number showing on the display. I answered the phone in my feminine voice which I am using pretty much all the time now. He said, oh, I'm sorry Ma'am I must have the wrong number and he hung up before I could say wait, wait, no it's me. I messaged him and said hey, did you just call me? You had the right number, that really was me. LOL, we shared a laugh ove…

I’ve only had one procedure so far which was an orchiectomy about a year ago. I have intentions of going for full gender reassignment when I’m able and feel fully ready. But I wanted to see what you ladies who already have can offer as rules and pointers about personal care. I can google this type of thing, but every time I try, all I ever get is a bunch of sick porn sites. So I wanted to “get it from the horses mouth”, so to speak. I want to know absolutely everything I can before I begin the steps to a surgeon.

Hi all. I am a 23 year old post op transsexual, having had my operation back in 2003. I've noticed that my sex drive has dramatically decreased since the operation and it's really messing things up with me and my boyfriend who i've been with for 2 years. I'm of course still on hormones but my sex drive just won't come back. I mean this is horrible, lol!!!! I feel totally satisfied with my results, body, myself in general aside from this. I just get irritated alot when my bf wants to engage in any sort of sexual contact and it's very bothersome for him and especially me knowing how sexual i used to be. I was wondering if any of you that are knowlegeable or post …
