There are many reasons why we cannot marry but so many more reasons why we should be able to. I stand before the many people who regard trans marriage as blasphymous or unmoral, great everybody has that right of opininion. But when it fringes on the happiness and well being of individuals in our country it's just plain very sad!!!Are we not citizens of this country, paying taxes and obeying laws and statutes. Doesn't our voice have say and ultimatley do we not have the right of freedom of gender and all the benefits that come with it. Religion Fanatics always has a way to weasel its way into politics. Suddenly religion claims that individuals do not have the right to "live…

For admins: Having visited susans place and tgboards, I guess the content below should be acceptable to this site rules. If not admins, please let me know so I can make changes to it. Warning: I do not condone doing HRT by yourself, without the support of a good endocrinologist; as that way you will be putting yourself in the hands of lady death sooner or later. Warning2: YMMV (Your Mileage May Vary). Some transgender bodies for example like spironolactona, and hate androcur; some hate both and some hate none. You may change a lot in just 1 month, others do not change at all after 1 year. Current face: - Event, - Medication, - Event+Medication, - Nothing -----------…

Hello everyone. My name is Kierin. I am new to the site and very new to addressing my gender dysphoria. I live in L.A., I’m a registered nurse completing my nurse practitioner certificate, and I said I’m trans, out loud, to another person for the first time today. I’m not exactly sure what that means for me at this point, but I’m hoping I can find some resources, support and friendship here. Happy Pride!

My 13 year old daughter Nicole and I are doing better since I began my transition in August.I saw she was hit hard when I came out.Thought she was going to lose dad for good and I told her that I am going to be the same person with a new indentity as female.Nicole is starting to understand I was never happy as male and knows I am going to have a better life going through this transition. She does call me Danielle and dad now.I get her on weekends and did find her a support group for kids that have parents whom are transitioning.Great thing is she now knows she is not alone and has met new friends that are helping her out.Nicole and I do go out to get our nails done and I d…

NOTE: In order to complete this poll and have your choices register, you must answer all three questions. There are quite a few difficult decisions to be made in life, and being transsexual can really complicate our choices. Being a parent, for example, can be life-altering for anybody, but for us, whether or not to have children is one of the hardest choices of all. The Raising children and being transsexual poll is divided into three distinct sections: The first part is specifically for those who have already had children, while section two is for anyone contemplating becoming a parent some day. or who has no kids. The final area, "Consequences," is a mixed ba…

I'm curious about something that has me thinking after reading the vagina envy thread. I've heard of amputees who say they still feel their limbs after losing them. Does that happen after SRS also? I would imagine that certain nerve pathways are still functional and active after SRS, they are physically in different locations but the mind might not sense this immediately. Does it take time for everything to start feeling where it is versus where it was? Hope this makes sense. MIWBJ

Hi All! I'm very much interested in hearing from you about your experiences with transition, and how it affected your life at work, both positively and negatively. If I may, I'll start this string with a recap of what happened to me. I'd like to tell you that my transition on the job went smoothly. The reality is I lost TWO positions during the first two years of my physician-prescribed HRT regimen. Both situations were a bit of a nightmare. At the first job, which was telephone research (cold-calling), I was flat out told by my less-than-sympathetic boss that, "until you cut your d*** off, I will call you Paul." This after I had informed him …

There has been much talk about homone testing and the importance of a medical doctor in prescribing hormones. I agree with the seriousness of this topic and rather than talk about doctors that don't know anything, I am offering an alternative explanation for the different types of testing that may be done and the reasoning why. I would like to share some insight on what is happening to me. I am going to one of the best facilities in the state of wisconsin for medical care in madison and they have a special team of doctors who handle transgender care. I have had my blood levels taken and will be having them checked about every three months or so. This testing …

This is a list of questions I ask myself everyday. The answer to them all is yes but does that make me a girl? Do I like womens' clothes? Do I like make up? Do I want breasts? Do I hate my penis? Do I want men to find me attractive as a woman? I know I am not gay. Homosexual sex is not appealing to me. I know if I was a real woman I would want vaginal intercourse. I am not a transvestite. I don't get a sexual charge form womens' clothes. It is more of a choice and how I want to be presented to the world. I don't have a woman's or a man's brain. It is kinder and more thoughtful. The way it should be for everyone. Does all this add up to wanting to be a…

Things have been going good for me this week.Went on my first date on Tuesday night with my new girlfriend Stephanie.Met her last week and things are going very well with her.She is in her transition to become the woman she sees herself as too, started in September.I like her because she understands the same thing I have been going through in my life. Was once married and also has a kid,a 14 year old son that has come to terms that his dad always felt he should of been born female. My parents finally came to terms tonight that I was never happy as my old self and I am now happy about myself.A few of my long time friends came back into my life, felt bad about saying I was out …

Hi, I had a question about transgenderism. I'm a 24 gender questioning youth MTF and had a couple of questions. First, i was wondering if can do male oriented things like hunting, shooting guns, etc and feel female inside. I never crossdress before and don't really know if i could pass a woman due to big size 12 mens shoe, short hair, and a 38 mens waist.. However, when i walked by the womens clothes they look sexy and attractive . I wish can grow breasts and wear a bra. This started in my teenage years when i saw girls developing and then i wanted those chariacteristics like breast, long hair, etc. I have no real indications in the past like wanting to fix my hai…

a thought occurred to me today...so if you ladies don't mind, i'd like to ask a question. from what i understand, one of the reasons your HRT must be monitored is because of the stress hormones put on your liver. why is it that most HRT for the ladies is via pill form rather than the delivery method most common for the guys which is via injection? -michael

Hi everyone, I just made an appointment for a consultation with an electrologist next Thursday and wanted to throw out a question - she said that it could be a year, with weekly 1-hour sessions, to finish. At this point I'm just planning to get my face done (the rest was removed via laser) - does that time frame sound right? Thanks! Christie

Over the past few weeks I have been presenting in my true female gender pretty much full time. Even when I'm tucked up in bed. I have told my landlord because he is also my neighbour and I didn't want him thinking I was doing something weird. Luckily he was totally cool about it. I have signed up for counseling at my local LGBT centre and for a course of life skills. I am also waiting for an appointment at the Gender Identity Clinic for assessment and hopefully hormones and maybe GRS. I am really getting to hate wearing male clothes for work and also not being honest with my family. I have been advised by the people at the LGBT centre to wait awhile before telli…

Hello I am gathering information about future TG male to female and female to male operations in the United Kingdom in the light of recent events concerning the recent government Comprehensive Spending Review (CSR) announced this month. Thousands of jobs in the NHS are already earmarked for cuts as primary care trusts and strategic health authorities are to be abolished as part of the coalition's reforms and it is feared that some hospitals may seek to cut frontline jobs as well. Experts have warned that plans to give GPs greater control over the NHS budget and the reorganisation this will take will cost between £2bn and £3bn, and The Royal College of Nursing estimat…

This is an interesting article about the neuron numbers in the central part of the bed nucleus of the stria terminalis.(BSTc) within the brain. Basically it states that Regardless of sexual orientation:- Men have almost twice as many somatostatin neurons as women Male-to-female transsexual neuron numbers are similar to that of females Female-to-male transsexual neuron numbers are similar to that of Males. http://jcem.endojour.../85/5/2034.full

I'm perplexed and curious. I've read the surgical descriptions of how SRS is performed. The prostate is left. I have found nothing on the seminal vesicles so I assume those remain. So, since the testicles provide the sperm and just a minor fraction of the total ejaculate, then why does ejaculation stop after SRS? Not that anyone would want it to, but am curious what causes it to stop? Is something else done during the surgery, or is it just the hormonal change that prevents it just as after being on hormone therapy for a long time?

For those of you not familiar, that's a "Partial Hospitalisation Program". In practical terms, it's a 7 hour per day, five day per week, program of intensive therapy. This should last for 2 weeks. There might be an additional 2 weeks of half days also - "Intensive Outpatient" in the hospital's terminology. The reason I'm there is because my depression is bad enough that I can barely get out of bed in the morning, eat, or bathe. Suffice it to say that seeing my psychologist once every two weeks, and taking my meds, wasn't enough by itself. Things just kept getting worse and worse. This is good though. It provides structure that I desperately need, and active th…

Sooo I recently had surgery just about 3 weeks ago (surgery date was october 4th, 2010) So, being that I was around parentals during the post op questions of dos and donts before going home, I didnt want to ask my doc about certain things like drinking and smoking. He gave me the basic run down of dilation, the restrictions of no sex for 6-8 weeks, and yada yada yada. However, Im having a hard time getting ahold of him and my friends wanted to throw me a party. Problem is, I smoke pot on occasion and drink rarely. Chances are, for this party, Im gonna want to smoke and drink, but I can't, for the life of me, find ANY direct answers on when a person is ok'd to smo…

It may seem far fetched but imagine getting a full 3 dimensional scan of your complete body geometry, This scan would then be entered in to a program that would allow the patient and the surgeon to transform the patient’s body into the precise appearance desired. Once the body shape has been defined, the program would determine what changes would be needed to the physical geometry, hormones, biological function and reproductive function. This means: e.g A MTF would be Totally anatomically, genetically female producing her own hormones, capable of menstruating, giving birth, breastfeeding. It would be absolutely impossible to differentiate between someone born female a…

I've been thinking about something a lot lately with regards to transitioning. I think I'm pretty safe to say that most people want to do it because they feel like they've been living a life of lies and can't stand it anymore, and want to finally be themselves. Whether those lies are physical (my body is all wrong) or psychological (pretending to be someone you're not), whether they're lies to yourself or others, whether they're explicit or lies of omission, there's a lot of lying involved in pre-transitioned TS people. That sounds sort of accusatory.. sorry, I don't meant it that way.. just restating what I've heard many people say. That it's such a relief for them to…
