I want to start by saying that being trans gender is not a choice. I am pondering life as my wife just told me on Thursday she was leaving. I ran the gauntlet of emotions since then. I am torn into two sides, one side of me is broken and sad the other side is a little happy to be free. If I could have changed my mind somehow and stop being trans tomorrow I WOULD. That being said I reflect on the negatives of being trans. Lieing ....we hide everything about everything til I guess it's too late. Are we to blame, is society to blame for making us hide who we are? What choice did I have when caught as a child many times by my parents and told how horrible it is. How it was mo…

I'd like to hear some opinions on this. I told my parents I am FtM more than half a year ago. They still call me by my female name, talk about my life as though I lived like a girl, and discourage me when I'm talking about anything except seeing a psychiatrist (my mother really believes in therapy an all such things). I told my mother (very seriously) to call me by my male name after she'd called me by my female name when I had some new friends (who'd only ever heard my male name) with me when visiting her (she lets us use her apartment to party a little sometimes, it's a big apartment and she lives alone so she likes having people around). She "tried" for half a day,…

Today is two things for me. First, it's Australia day, which means my parents are out, I'm not, and I'm having friends over. Second, I'm transitioning today. In an hour one friend will be arriving with my clothes, and... yeah. My parents will come home, and then what happens happens =/ Its a scary thought, just having my parents come home and see me like that.

A lot of gays (A LOT) think that we are plain freaks. You just have to enter a gay chat or go to a gay restaurant dressed up and you'll see their reaction. A lot of gays just hate us and it doesn't make any sense to me. In fact, the worst (unwarrented and unrequested) comments about my physical appearence and ability to pass came from gay guys. When asked what they think about men who date post op TS women, gays like to think that these men are closeted gays. It makes me so sick that a lot of hatred and phobia against our community comes from gays.

I read in a post that Annie wrote that a majority of TS are non-op. It may have said pre-op, but I was wondering if the majority are pre-op or non-op? When I first visited here, i assumed that most were post-op, but learned this was not true. I'm not sure that there are any post-op regular posters here, am i wrong? If you are a TS and will want to be with a straight male as partner, you would then *need* to go for SRS. Would that be a common reason for SRS, or are there deeper reasons that are different for some even though all should have been *born* female. I'm still learning! -Kim PS) I have to go for a magnification mammogram tomorrow, Dr said it's to err o…

Hi everyone! Here is a short list of movies that either deal with transsexuality or have a character in the story who is TS. There are MANY more titles! If your favorite is not here, please post its name? The above list was compiled in part from this wonderful source: TG Video & Film Directory Annie PS-- Don't miss Part 2 of the MOVIE POLL , located on the main Crossdresser Forum. Thanks!

My definition of sex is any activity between two or more people that involves contact with genitalia for the purpose of sexual pleasure. So if somebody pleased you with their hand and that was all, I still count it as sex. Please use my definition when answering. Specify if you want to.

  8. NOTE: In order to complete this poll and have your choices register, you must answer all three questions. There are quite a few difficult decisions to be made in life, and being transsexual can really complicate our choices. Being a parent, for example, can be life-altering for anybody, but for us, whether or not to have children is one of the hardest choices of all. The Raising children and being transsexual poll is divided into three distinct sections: The first part is specifically for those who have already had children, while section two is for anyone contemplating becoming a parent some day. or who has no kids. The final area, "Consequences," is a mixed ba…

  9. This is a test as described below. There are five levels that score between -650 which indicates male and 650 which indicates female. I think there were 60 plus questions. I scored 600 so it looks like I am on the right path. Before taking the test I suggest doing what I did, just take it, do not dwell over the answers but do carefully read each question. There is one question that is really something, I read it three times before responding. Would love to hear how you score and your thoughts on the scores. A unique test designed specifically for the uncertain pre-transitional Male-to-Female gender dysphoric. The first comprehensive gender dysphoria test, COGIATI …

You know, I really envy these girls who can define themselves as totally female and have no doubts. For me, I'm on a hopeless roundabout, male to female, then back again. OK, I may have cross-dressed as a teen and had an unusual interest in womens' magasines, and maybe my breasts did swell, and maybe I did have a few fantasies that were, let us say, unusual, But 40 years of male life has left it's mark. It's difficult to ignore these experiences. So, after a long hiatus.I started dressing again, and I joined a few contact sites, and I even posted a few photos. But it just ain't working. I've considered going out and out Gay, but this is not where I'm coming from. I've co…

This post is primarily in response to Pantau's question about western therapists. Do they really help or do they try to "fix us". I have only been seeing a therapist for 6 months. I found my therapist on my own , I was first refused a theapist as I am not able to come in as often as they wanted. With a bit of persistence thet recommended a therapist to me , she is wonderful , very understanding and supportive . Most importantly she is not trying to "fix" me , and she has helped me to find confidence and courage to be myself , I am still not completely out yet but I am miles ahead of where I started. I do know however that there are those who will just put there stamp on y…

I mentioned my in-laws had been told and were supportive. Well, my mother in law had been told anyway, and made some ominous sounding comments about my father-in-law. They talked today, my wife got ahold of her dad, they ended with a near yelling match, dad's at home depressed, the parents have been talking with each other and the rest of the family as if they only heard half of what my wife said (and none of the "it's a medical thing" parts). Some angry remarks were made about how it's inappropriate for us to have children now, and from my wife, how we'll damned well have whatever sort of family we want and they can go to hell if they don't like it. Egads. Damage Cont…

Hi, I found these forums while searching Google. I'm a MTF (Pre-Op), 16 years old, and struggling. I have done my homework on my condition, and know a lot about it. But I have some questions that I'm hoping someone can answer. My case is quite different than the ordinary TS. You see, I grew up home schooled. Which means I didn't have much social interaction, period. And if I did, it was with boys. I didn't know any better, and quite frankly wasn't concerned with my body. Years passed by, I was 12 years old. During this time my parents and I lived in a small community. Where I met a few friends. (Who were all boys.) And once again, I thought nothing of it, or my bod…

I have seen a few posts that were describing some of the pain that was felt, and the feeling of hating the body you saw in the mirror, but started to feel better when HRT started. Did you feel better because you were moving that much further along in the transition, or is it because the actual hormones are affecting how you see yourself? Coming form a born female here, I have rarely, if ever felt like the hormones were "kind" to me. What do the hormones do? I know that for me they regulate the reproductive system and such (to no avail for me), but when reproducing isnt the issue, do they have an effect on how you actually 'feel'?

I just stopped by to say hi. I have been continuing my electrolysis and was pleased to reach an important milestone the other day -- there are no more dense dark hair patches left on my face. I can now shave and there's no real noticable shadow. We are continuing to work on removing lighter and lighter hairs, but I have been able to cut back to 1 hour a week and retain my sanity; the electrologist has been amazed at how little regrowth I've been getting, but that could end up being the true gift of the laser treatment, I suppose. I finally broke down and bought a tube of lidocaine from her. I was amused to note that it says "anorectal cream". I told her that was ap…

Hi everyone. I'm an 18 yr old mtf who's been on hrt for a little over 17 months. Some of y'all probably already knew that. I don't doubt that one day I'll get FFS and SRS, along with a good voice coach and some electrolysis, but it's what happens afterwards that I don't know about. Anyway, I'm in college and I'll likely graduate in 4 years. But, the thing is, I have no idea what to do with myself in life. I already know what I want -- friends and, if I'm lucky, a lover, but I see no prospects for me ever having either of those. I've been a loner since pre-school, and people don't ever let themselves come close to me. Now, I'm out about being TG, and I definitely…

  20. I just had a thought that I wanted to toss around to get some opinions on. Yesterday I met this young man that was 6 foot 7 inches tall. He wore a size 16 boot. His hands were very big, one of his fingers was the equivalent of two of mine. I just couldn't help but wonder.... If I was that huge would I completely toss out any ideas of myself being transgendered and wanting to be a woman? I tried picturing this very large young man dressed to the hilt as a female. It was kind of a funny thought. I don't think that I would want to be a woman being that huge. I would love to hear some of your opinions on this. You really had to be here to see this guy.

Hi, First off ill give a little background on myself. I'm 20 years old and currently living as a male. I have been seeing a therapist for about 2 months now who specializes in trans issues. I have recently went to a few support groups dressed as Briana, and found it opened doors in my mind. I found that more and more i want to start my transition.(the younger the better right?) These groups dont only allow me to go out dressed as Briana, but also help answer questions for me. I found that im not the only one and that many other people in my area have felt similar things as me their whole lives. I'm finally to the point where i will need to tell my parents who already h…

I'm taking this from a different forum, but it's an interesting conversation piece. If there were a pill that got rid of all your transgender urges and made you comfortable in your own sex, would you take it rather than transitioning? Personally, I think that I very well might still transition. Despite the numerous inconveniences, transsexualism can turn out to be a lucky malfunction. So many people have no idea how to make themselves happy in life or be able to achieve it. So transitioning is a blessing in disguise because what will make me happy is taken for granted by so many. Who would want a pill that took this away?

  24. I had an appointment with a urologist on the 25th of last month to talk about the possibility of getting an orchiectomy. We discussed it a bit, and he fully approved it! So I'm waiting to hear back about when to get it scheduled. It should happen before the end of the year. I'm so excited I can barely keep my head together. The procedure is a lot like getting a vasectomy. I had a vasectomy in 2013. For those that don't know, with a vasectomy they make a small incision in the scrotum and remove a piece of the vas deferens which is the tube that carries sperm to the urethra during ejaculation. Then they stitch you up and send you on your way. It's an outpatient procedure th…

You guys have probably heard the old question about race. Why should it matter? Well what about sex should that also matter? I just came back from one of my favorite stores. Sporting my new size 10 Levi's which weren't the hip huggers that I was hoping for, But I had decided to wear them to the store just to break them in. I had to ask one of the little girls for some assistance finding something. After finding what I was looking for the little girl asked me if she could ask me a personal question? Not thinking much of it, I said sure. She said " Are you trying to be a guy?" Wham! did she catch me off guard. I didn't know if I had just been complimented or insulted. I d…
