Hi; my name is Connie I'm 57, divorced, and have been wearing pretty things since about 5 years old. Those that know me personally are not supportive at all of us, so I keep things pretty much in the closet. Even at this age I'm still wondering where I fit in in the T spectrum. Anyway its so nice to find a group like this. Thank you for the support! Connie

Hi everyone. My name is Carol. I'm six years post-op. I was married to my husband for 3 1/2 years when he passed away last June from lung cancer. I'm only now coming out of the lonliness and depession and of the last few months. I was looking around to talk to people who had some long term experience in transition to see how they were getting along. Carol

Hello all, I'm new here. My name is Rita. I'm non-binary. I recently started my journey as a trans woman. I will be starting HRT very soon. I have come out to my dad and step mon. A few members of management at work know as well. I still present as male in public and work. I'm working on changing that. Another thing I would like to work on changing is having friends that understand about being trans. Some girlfriends to just hang out with, go shopping with, talk girl stuff. I would at some point like to find a real relationship with someone who really appreciates me for me and not someone looking to fulfill some fantasy. After all I'm a real human with real feelings. I lo…

I'm 42 Transgender I grew up in a single mother home the youngest of 4 and the only boy. And was essentially raised as a female. It started with my sister's playing dress up with at an early age there are even old pictures of me dressed up in a pretty little dress with pig tails and bows in my hair. Being around all females all the time I developed a deep appreciation for the female body. In my very breaf public school experience I got picked on beat up and bullied by both boys and girls, because of my feminine appearance and wardrobe choices, all my decision, my mother bought me boy clothes but I refused to wear them, they weren't pretty and i felt un…

  18. Started by Christine,

Hi. I am a middle-aged man beginning my transition to being the woman I have always been inside. In fact, my first foray out semi-dressed was Thursday...I rocked the tall boots, black jeans not too tight and a conservative but obviously feminine blouse. My hair looks feminine when I give it a loose pony tail...but I made no other attempts at presenting as a woman. As it turned out, I didn't have to- the few sideways looks I got told me I was rocking the femininity! Geez, it felt great. It is hard to put into words how good it felt... So I hope my sisters in this forum can have outings like I just had. If I could post a pic or two, I can show you all my journey ste…

I am a man who should have been born a girl. As a child I did not like boy play; I preferred girl’s styles; and I was an avid reader including reading all of the Little House on the Prairie books written from Laura’s point of view. I could not play boys sports and struggled to fit in with groups of boys. For example at summer camp, I spent all of my time doing crafts. Later, in high school I adapted managing to fit in as a male, but was never really popular because I was not masculine enough. Dating was a nightmare. I hated to be the one to ask girls out and be rejected, oh to have been the girl instead! In college these issues became less important. I remember b…

Hello and hugs from Claire,I am a post op trans woman and transitioned when I was young. It was about the age of 3 I knew that I was born in the wrong body.It did get worse when I was 5 years old and did come out at the age of 8 finally.Parents were stunned at first and figured out I struggled with my gender ID.A therapist did diagnose me with gender dysphoria and my parents knew what to do next.It was let me live and dress as female and was put on the male hormone blockers when I was 10 years old.The exciting part was on my 16th birthday,my mom said I was going to start my transition with the hormones. My parents were ready for this part already, seeing their unhappy son be…

  22. Hello to everybody. And to Lori thank you for your warm kindness. A little about me ... Madison Rae. Trying to keep it short, basically knew I was different from a very early age. went through many of the same trial and tribulations of most other gurls. Long ago I accepted myself for who i am. But its only been this year that I started to plan and work towards what I call "My Exit Strategy" Some may call it "coming out" but since I really haven't figured out what that means yet, I will simply call it as it is. Me finally exiting the shadows of my comfortable closet. There is still a great deal of planning and research for me but the time is growing closer. Right now…

Hi folks. I'm in my mid 50s with a male facade but a woman waving out the window. I am married and have a grown up son and daughter. I knew when I was 4 years old that I was female but thought I would keep it a secret for over 40 years. My ambition is to look in a mirror and a woman looks back. Far from achieved despite a nose job and hair transplant. Anyway, about me really. I am absolutely obsessed by space/cosmology. Even more so, sentience: just what happens that stuff becomes aware that its's stuff? At the moment I am reading Jane Eyre. Not my typical read but after reading a quote from it in The Asylum for Wayward Victorian Girls (Emilie Autumn) I was d…
